THIS. And to all those people who are making personal remarks about how the husband is disrespectful to his son, or how the mother is selfish and unkind etc, sorry, I didn't realise you were part of their family? If I asked either of my parents to bake me a cake, they would probably refuse. And my dad would probably make a…

In 2002, research at Princeton began showing the neurochemical effects of sugar, noting that sugar might serve as a gateway drug for other drugs. The research group fed chow to the rats as well as a 25% sugar solution similar to the sugar concentration of soft drinks. After one month the rats became "dependent" on the…

I had my first 'relationship' when I was 14, my second between the ages of 15-17 and my final (and current) one from 17 until now (I'm 21) So from the age of 14, I've been single a grand total of a year (8 months between the first and second, and 4 months between the second and third) I'm a relationship kind of person :-)

I have a very similar story to you! I lost just over a stone and, for once in my life, wasn't feeling self conscious when I got dressed anymore, I got a load of compliments on how well I'd done, and generally just felt great! Then I told myself that I could have the week off to go on holiday. It totally messed up my…

Every day, your metabolism burns a certain number of calories dependent on your height, weight, age, gender and how active you are etc. For example my total daily expenditure is around 1800kcal. When you set your goals on MFP, they give you a calorie deficit that will let you achieve that goal. For example, my daily goal…

I don't really have a cheat day to aid weight loss, I have them every now and again to preserve my sanity! It's a struggle to resist treats for an extended period of time and an occasional treat day to have a little indulgence tends to keep me on track. If you weigh in on a particular day of the week, make that your cheat…

I tend to look at it from a "weekly" perspective. As long as I'm within my calories every week then I don't feel bad if I go over slightly on a given day

I would also like to point out that if you're taking your weight in pounds, dividing by 25, multiplying by 50, dividing by 60 and multiplying by 30, you end up with your weight in pounds again. So therefore, the formula states that whatever your weight in pounds is, that's how many calories you burn in half an hour....…

170/25 = 6.8 6.8*50 = 340 340/60 = 5.66667 calories per minute. According to that formula, I would burn 170 calories in 30 minutes. According to my HRM, I burn 178 calories in 30 minutes. So not too bad! According to MFP, "Circuit Training" for 30 minutes burns 308 calories ¬_¬ Woah! I think if you don't have a HRM, the…
