Hi everyone - I finished Week 5 Day 1. I almost didn't make it happen - got off work around 6pm and was supposed to go to a school play at 7pm. But ... I did it, and was really glad I did (and the play started late, and I managed to get by without a shower). My app is 18 weeks long (goes couch to 10k), so I think it may…

I was another rest person today. I had thought about going on a short hike, but the most I moved my body was to walk to/from the car. Looking forward to a good active day tomorrow ... Week 5 begins for me.

Week 4 is all done for me! Woot! Woot! I think there are just 1-2 more days I can do "easily" before my real challenge begins. Glad to be half-way to 5k in terms of number of workouts though. I am sooo happy that I've stuck with it this long. Airangel - thanks for the tips! So glad you made it today! April - you're doing…

Week 4, Day 2 completed and felt AWESOME! I was really surprised, but taking a full rest day seems to be helping. Also, I've only been "on the couch" for a few months. Back in June-October '13, I was run/walking a lot - so that makes a difference I'm sure. In the past I've ended up with minor injuries from doing too much…

I'm so happy I was able to complete Week 4, Day 1 fairly easily. I'm trying not to worry about the upcoming runs.

I have discovered electronic dance/club music. I never go to actual clubs and don't listen to the music around the house, but it works perfectly for me when I'm working out. I use Pandora and have a "station" that I'm happy to share with any of you who use Pandora. The music is what I think of as upbeat, not too noisy,…

Despite being tired most of the day, I completed W3D3 and am doing the happy dance (and stretches)! I ran for a full 5 minutes afterwards too. Its all a head game for me. If my head is in the right place I can do great. If I'm not motivated or a little negative or have music that is annoying, the endurance just isn't…

W3D2 is done for me and felt fantastic! My knee was sore a couple days ago, but felt good today and I actually did some stretching afterwards. I'm really going to have to make myself do the after-workout stretches from now on.

W3D1 is done! I was strolling home after work on this beautiful afternoon when I hear lots of pat-pat-pat behind me. I turned to see the entire high school cross country team jogging up behind me. Somehow it made me feel soo happy and I started jogged along with them for a couple minutes (in my snow boots, jeans, backpack,…

I'm looking forward to getting back to running outside tomorrow. Airangel - I can relate to tech and wardrobe malfunctions. I had to stop using runkeeper because it goes wonky on me way too much - might be the mountains I live in. Deb - I am going to get a squat app now - something about needing a structure and ticking off…

Downhill powder skiing all day for me today. Its really not that aerobic, but more like quad lunges/squats followed by long rests while riding the lifts. I had lots of fun and my thighs were screaming by the end of the day. More of the same tomorrow and then back to jog/walking on Monday. Sadly I ate way, way too much…

Curve ball! had to leave town unexpectedly, staying in a hotel tonight (and its still snowing). But there is a treadmill here and I did W3D3 - running on a treadmill for the first time in years. My 10-yr old is with me (and was impatient to get into the pool/hot tub), so I skipped most of the warm-up and cool down. Glad to…

I haven't run yet today, but I think posting will help make it happen for me today. I had a very long day in the car yesterday (and through a heavy snowstorm at the end). I really, really wanted to go skiing this morning, but work wouldn't let that happen :-( There shouldn't be an excuse for me this afternoon though.…

Yesterday I had planned to run, but I felt exhausted all day. I decided my body really did need a rest. This afternoon I did Week 2, Day 2 and felt great. I was actually able to envision running my entire route as this program progresses! This upcoming week will be a challenge. Tomorrow I have a long day on the road, then…

Music oh so important! Last October I jog/walked a 25k trail run. I was doing great until the Pandora on my phone quit working. It was like my batteries on my energy ran out. Love seeing all the posts. Its getting me pumped for tomorrow. I did W2D1 yesterday, but my dog probably can't handle days off very well. So walking…

Yay - I finally did W2D1 after putting it off all morning. I was feeling lazy and had a slight stomach ache. I was even thinking that I didn't really have to do it today. Thanks to Greta and this group, I made myself go out. Whew! Now I know I can do this even when I'm not feeling so good. I will also try to post daily.

I log by adding cardio - walking 3mph or whatever average speed my workout came out to. I have to admit that I don't feel very inspired to go out an do my walk/run right now, so I appreciate this thread. Thanks!

Yay! Week 1, Day 3 is in the bag. I had problems with my dog too and also had to run during the cool down to make up for it. I was on a gentle downhill by that time, so it was easy. Feels great to be getting back into jogging after a 4 month break for me. I just need to remember to stretch at the end (forgot again today).

Hello - I know its towards the end of the goal week, but I really wanted to go ahead and get started with a group to help hold me accountable to my goals - 1 step at a time. If I drop out of sight, please message me or bug me somehow to get back on it! My name is Kim, 43 yrs old, secretive binge eating since age 12 (never…

W1D2 done! Lots of fresh snow for me to run on - easier than ice of the other day. So I was going pretty slow but happy to have made it. Thanks for all the inspiration everyone! I have lots of motivation now, but am worried about a week or two from now. Please someone get a hold of me if I don't post for a couple of days…

Long hard work day (at my desk) and I have to go back to work again tonight. I got home, had a quick meal and somehow dragged myself out to do a repeat of W1D1. I thought I was doing day 2, but I must have pushed the wrong button on my app. I feel much better now - work was stressful, but the exercise really helped. Now…

I did it: W1D1. I am pretty sure that I would not have done it had I not joined this group last night. THANK YOU! As for hills, I've almost never jogged uphill. Instead I've either walked at a good pace or turned around. I've done two longish running events this way - if its uphill, walk :-) But ... I actually jogged up…

Hi - I'm in to start tomorrow too! I live up high in the mountains in Colorado and need to get some spikes for run/walking in the snow/ice. In the meantime, my snow boots will have to do. Last summer - early Fall I did a good bit of run-walking (25k trail run Oct 12), but have sadly been a slug and over-eating for the last…

Trigger foods for me seem to boil down to anything sweet (natural or artificial), anything with flour of any kind, and nuts. Foods that are NOT triggers for me: veggies (except really fresh sugar snap peas, but that's probably ok) high quality protein: fish, chicken, beef, eggs (does NOT include bacon or sausage) OK - if…

Those guidelines are perfect for me. I'd been coming up with 3 similar "rules" but I do like your 2 out of 3 part.

Please count me in too!
