Halloween - only eat the candy that that is an actual favorite, instead of devouring everything. Thanksgiving - I will try to limit (or at least be conscious of) the grazing of appetizers, candy and cookies, and sticking to eating the actual meal. Christmas - I go shopping for Christmas presents a LOT, so it will be…

Bump. Fun idea. I'll do it tonight.

If you have a computer at home, there are some good "walking" videos on Youtube. Search for Leslie Sansone. There are lots of other exercise videos on there too if you want something different.

I've been interested in it too, and actually perused some websites about it yesterday. I'm trying to figure out if you actually need to buy a gps, or if you can just use a smart phone. It looks like there's an app, but I don't want to buy it if it doesn't fulfill all the needs. Sure seems like a fun way to mix up a walk!

bump. anyone else try them yet? thanks for sharing.

It might not be bright enough since you are starting with dark hair, but when I was a teenager I dyed my hair with Kool-Aid all the time. Washes out VERY easily. Just the packet and some water and then soak your hair in there for awhile.

Bump, thanks for sharing.

If you use the term "chef" VERY loosely ... : ) I had teriyaki chicken tonight, but my favorite so far is Crockingirls.com Fiesta Chicken.

Yes to all the great tips people have listed. I'm not a morning person either, and have slept in my workout clothes prior to morning workouts. Just one tip to add: if you have good MFP friends, I find that declaring my intentions on MFP the night before is the absolutely best way for me to get out of bed. I lie there for a…

Last weekend for tailgating, I made pumpkin cupcakes and then used a little stencil on the top with powdered sugar for the letter of my team (I just cut the stencil out of cardboard). Buy a Duncan Hines or Betty Crocker Spice cake mix, and instead of the eggs and oil and water, put it a can of pumpkin (I had to add a…

I'm not glad to hear you get very badly depressed, but I'm glad to read that because that has happened to me a couple times, and it's severe! Good to know I wasn't imagining it. I'm good at taking it daily but a couple times I needed to pick up my refill and was a couple days late. Good advice.

Bump. Wondering how it might work with the "hint of lime" chips. I have some, so might try it.

I already responded a couple pages ago, but actually found myself thinking of your situation again today, so I returned to read all six pages of responses. And you know what? In my six months on MFP, I've NEVER seen so much agreement in one thread! None of us know you or your situation personally (although I bet a lot of…

I don't have much time to write, but you're 19, this is your current relationship, and you want to go to college? Kindly end the relationship and go to college. There will be lots of other opportunities in your months and years ahead to meet men who you connect with better, and you need to take care of YOU (meaning this is…

Belated response here. At the end of Sculpt, the instructor usually says 600. I've never heard numbers on others, but I usually log C2 as 400 or 500, and C1 something like 200. Those last few are arbitrary made-up numbers though! : )

I also go to CorePower, usually level 2, but have successfully completed three sculpt classes. When I'm practicing regularly, I really notice the change in my body. I think it improves my mental and emotional focus, as well. Sometimes I wish they would offer 30 minute classes, and when I've tried yoga at home (say, for a…

I guess I have two, but they sure are small. 1. I got grilled cheese and green beans for lunch instead of grilled cheese and chili 2. I managed 30 minutes of yoga tonight even though I felt like doing nothing.

Oh my gosh, thanks so much for all the work you put into that. I looked at Bodyrock once, and - like many others - was completely confused with their website. I'm so impressed that you even made working links!

Gretchen, I hope you can save this post somewhere so that you can look at it next time you have a not-so-great-feeling day. It's so very uplifting. I love that I've had the opportunity to follow your achievements over the last 5 months. The numbers on the scale are obviously important for your health, but I think what it…

If you read the Questions and Answers section it sounds like they are the exact same price but you get more for the Deluxe. Seems strange, but that's how I'm interpreting. I'm going to opt for the Deluxe because I like the idea of getting the hand weights, although the workout might be hard enough without them. *still not…

Thanks for the feedback. The fact that you said it's hella cheesy makes me consider it even more! In a video-type workout, I seem to need something to keep my attention. I like dance-type workouts, and thought it would be a good way to mix up my rotation of Wii Zumba and Wii Just Dance. My fitness level is good - I think…
-
Oh my gosh, I didn't intend to advertise this at all. I don't have it or know anything about it, so was just asking for feedback, like people ask for feedback about Fitbits, Zumba, C25K, etc. I did state the price and where one could find the deal, but that's only because I wanted to share it with my fellow MFPers who…

I now discovered a new reason to work out: so I can successfully fend off everyone in line when you release your first novel. Back off chicks, I'm first! Seriously Gretchen, love it.

I think classes are really fun. It depends on your goal, I guess. Are you trying to increase cardio or strength? (Or maybe I should ask which is harder for you to do on your own.) If lifting isn't fun for you, you could take some type of Body Pump class, and start with really light weights (or no weights!) If going out for…

Bump. I like the instructions for non-chefs!

Oh that's so fun! I came up with 8. 2 male gymnasts 2 male marathoners 1 male footballer 1 female swimmer 1 female basketball player (kind of short for Olympic basketball) 1 female badminton player. Thanks for sharing!

I don't think I can add anything that you don't know or that the above posters haven't said, but just wanted to chime in support. That's a really, really crappy thing to discover (I would use a stronger word than crappy, but am not sure if I'm allowed). While I've never been in that situation, I do understand the cycle of…

Bump. Thanks for the picture and for sharing.

Bump. Lots of good ideas in this thread.

I did The Color Run,and loved it. If there isn't one in your area, I keep reading about people doing another one called Color Me Rad, so you could try that too. www.colormerad.com
