I have an hour and a half commute (quite early) so I have to take breakfast with me and eat it at work ... overnight oats (with fruit, natural yoghurt, nut milk, seeds, nuts etc) is good, or I make protein pancakes, take them in, heat up at work, and dump a load of berries and yoghurts on them. Also you could make a wrap…

Maintenance is around 1800 per day (I'm 5'1", 53 years old, with a desk job - although I walk a fair bit and exercise 3-4 times per week). Currently trying to cut a little - so on 1550 (average).

I would suggest that you work out what your calorie TDEE is for the weight you would like to be, and go for that.

I want coffee too - but its afternoon here and not such a good idea to drink more coffee at 4pm ...

What is recomp? I've never heard that word before?

sorry - I got your name wrong! Doh.

I may be way out of line here Tinkerbelle, but perhaps logging calories after years of an eating disorder is maybe not such a good thing to be doing? It might be more beneficial to just try to eat 3 times a day, healthy food and don't worry about the scales/calories for a bit.

Peanut butter and lemon curd on a toasted crumpet. Total bliss.

I've just checked mine - it averages out around 1100-1200 on 1700 calories per day (average). I don't really eat any pre-made sauces/food though.

I'm also totally amazed by how little so many of you are eating ... I lost about 11 pounds a couple of years back and never went under 1500 cals. I exercise (weights/body weight stuff) 3-4 times a week, and walk a fair bit.

I'm 53, 5 foot and currently 107 pounds. I eat about 17-1800 calories per day (averaged out over a week - a bit less mon-thur, and a bit more fri-sun). I was about 4-5 pounds lighter last year, but my PT has me eating more and hopefully doing heavier weights (although I am constantly trying to work round a dodgy knee - so…

I work out lunchtime - I only get 35-40 minutes of actual exercise in, but I don't hang about - do super sets of two different body parts (ie squats and benchpress) so that one part of me can recover while I do the other set. I have noticed that lots of people just sit around checking their phones and chatting, so long…

Hi - I'm old (53) and I have been using MFP for a couple of years now - lost about 5-6 kilos. I have always exercised, but started some weight training fairly recently. I'm pretty small (about 5 foot) and my trainer now is getting me to up my calories with a view to cutting in a few weeks. I am really struggling with the…

Scone with jam and clotted cream. Or a crumpet with peanut butter and lemon curd. But I fit it into my calories ...

I don't know how big you are but I'm a 51 year old female, 5 foot 1, and was losing weight on 1600 Cal's per day. I weigh about 48 kilos.

My cat - about 4 kilos.

I love overnight oats but they give me really painful bloating. Does anyone else get this?
-
Irrelevant question - I am using the android MFP app - how do I add a bookmark to a discussion please?

Those lettuce wraps look lush. Instead of bread (for a snack) try rice cakes or oat cakes. Both really tasty.

Hi! I'm 49 ( argh! ) And reasonably fit - want to just get a bit leaner round my hips and thighs over the next few months. Do I just bookmark to join in?

When I'm craving something sweet i eat spoonfuls of jam (jelly for Americans) out of the jar.

It's all about diet. Give up (more or less all) sugar, wheat, processed foods and alcohol and it will happen. I'm a 49 year old female and since doing this have a pretty firm flat stomach and the bits of thigh and hip fat are slowly going too.

I have a slightly similar problem - a class I regularly go to at my gym is being made rancid by a woman who smells like a cheap burger van. The smell gets worse through the class, but you can smell if she is there as soon as you walk into the changing room before she has exercised. Quite a few people have complained to the…
