So now am into healthy eating plan after the two week kick start. Enjoyed the two gin & tonics I allowed myself over the weekend but back to no alcohol now until Saturday. Am feeling great and as long as I don;t go mad tonight I shall end the day within my calorie allocation of 1400. Managed 90 minutes of fairly heavy duty…

Hey everyone; am celebrating with my promised gin & tonic and boy does it taste good after 2 weeks abstinence!!:drinker: It was weigh in day today. The sad news was that there was no weight loss, the good news was that there was no weight gain; the really fab news was that I had lost 2ins from my waist and 1.5ins from my…

Just 48 hours to go and then I can have that gin & tonic I have promised myself! Mom - thanks for the encouragement. I am 5ft 5ins, 62 years old and am currently on 1260 calories a day. For 14 days I set myself a goal of no alcohol and tried to keep fat to 5% or less. Have been eating 2 bowls of Special K a day, with one…

Thanks guys, it helps to have this string to share with. Have resisted temptation so far and am determined to look myself in the mirror next weekend and say "Hey, I did it, 14 days without a drink, so now I can treat myself to a drink with dinner at weekends and still stay within the calorie count!!". :drinker:

Hi. I joined a week ago on the recommendation of a friend. The calorie and exercise trackers are very useful and it is great to have the message boards to keep motivated and share our trials and triumphs with. Good luck to us all.

Hey, into Day 8 and still alcohol free. Am feeling down at the moment. Just over a year since my husband died and am missing him more than ever. Very tempting to have a drink but if I do I might climb into the bottle so I will try to keep strong.

Still no alcohol. Did a Pilates class this morning and felt really good afterwards, so think I will go on a regular basis. Keep up the good work fellow lushes!

OK. Have now reached day 6 of 14 days alcohol free. Brilliant day today; cleaned my daughter's house this morning from top to bottom; vacuumed, swept floors, mopped floors; moved furniture. Took me 3 hours and should have burnt off a lot of calories! Tonight went swimming with my granddaughter and managed 24 lengths in 35…

Hi all; 5th day of 14 day kick start and still no alcohol. Am keeping within the calorie allocation and have increased the amount of exercise I take, so am hoping for a nice surprise when I get on the scales on Saturday. Yvonnej1; sounds as if you have made fantastic progress, don't weaken now. But, do be careful about…

Good to have found you all. I am trying to 'kick start' weight loss with a strict regime for 14 days. No alcohol since Friday night so 12 days to go! If I can survive these 14 days then I will try to be alcohol free Mon - Fri and treat myself to a drink with dinner at the weekend.
