The way it is supposed to help with weight loss is that it makes the foods you eat it with more filling and you maintain satiety for longer periods of time so you don't get ravenous between meals and overeat later. It goes the same with most nutrient dense foods, they provide all the things your body needs and keep you…

If you start increasing your weight lifting your body will respond and crave more food. Just keep logging so you don't develop any bad eating habits. I would also reduce your sugar. 40g of sugar is kinda high for me but can be OK as long as it is not from refined sources like snack foods and cookies. If it is from fresh…

How long has it been since you've lost your weight? I often hear it takes about a year for your skin to catch up to your weight loss. I don't know if you notice other people who have lost a lot of weight that they look a little loose but looking back after they've maintained it and they look normal again. Not saying it…

It takes more then a week for your body to adjust to a fat adaptive state. There is nothing wrong with trying to get into ketosis. Doing it long term you can get some issues with nutrient deficiency since you are limiting so many veggies and fruit. Once you are in it you can remain there with higher amounts of carbs.…

Your body really dictates where it decides to take fat from to burn. For most men it is the same as you, the last spot is the stomach. People can't just work out a specific region to isolate a certain fatty area. The one exception to that for appearance wise is the abs/core area. You won't be isolating fat loss but…

You haven't had yogurt until you try full fat Fage. Get a good source of protein and fat to actually help you feeling full and stay full. Add your own fruit or whatever, don't get the flavored ones. The full fat is also great for cooking in tons of common recipes.

Bacon. Steamed broccoli with a pad of Kerry gold butter and salt. Sriracha hotsauce and real mayo. Dark leafy greens. Homemade Alfredo sauce.

A very small percentage of people are sensitive to sodium. For the rest it really has no negative effect. The major studies that gave everyone the salt scare have since been discredited in peer review.

Lesser of two evils would be the no sugar added. Fat doesn't make you fat.

Try swapping in lower glycemic fruits to lower some of the sugar. I usually try to make any of my snacks involve protein like almonds or full fat plain yogurt. Looking through a few days of your diary you have a handful of good meals that you could revisit and pair up into a full day.

40lbs in that short of time is a lot. Even if you went on meds you need to change what you're doing diet wise. The only way you can really treat the cause of your issues is by making healthy choices about what you put in your mouth. Yes there as a rare few that even when being healthy can still have diabetes issues or…

Several people report hairloss when they lose weight. Its one of your bodies ways of protesting you changing your diet and activity. When things stabilize you should see it recover. Your hormones are fluctuating more when you are changing what you put in your body.

You only need to avoid trans fat. Others are good for you, even saturated fat as long as you go for natural unprocessed foods. Your own body fat is saturated fat and when burning it off it is just the same as if you ate it.

Basic calorie calculator puts you are a little over 2000 calories to maintain your weight if you sat on the couch all day. 2300 if you are lightly active. 1200 does seem pretty low. I would start with 1500 and see how you feel and work your way lower as you go.

Seemed like it has been coming off in the reverse order that it was gained for me. On the way up it started with gut then moved to other parts and face. When I finally decided to do something about it it came off from the face first and now the only real thing I have left is the spare tire. I even had to size down my…

You kind of want your body to use your body fat for fuel as well. If you keep feeding it increased calories to match your level of activity it won't really need to use your body fat since it is burning the fuel you're digesting. Not saying that you shouldn't bump up your intake a little but I wouldn't do it to the same…

That is the universally recognized fat across all health viewpoints as being very bad for you. [qoute] Pass the poptarts and ice cream, please! [/quote] Those are more carbs and sugar then fat. At least poptarts are. Most icecream isn't much better but sure is a nice indulgence.

If you are burning body fat you are essentially consuming saturated fat. Your body doesn't care if it is coming from your diet or being pulled from your fat stores, it uses it the same. http://www.marksdailyapple.com/saturated-fat-healthy/#axzz2XMADAakm

Cut out as much refine sugar and carbs as you can. Just make sure you also keep your total carbs down lower then the average recomended, don't just replace all refined with complex ones. I would invest in a glucose meter, you can get them on Amazon for $25-$30 and check your levels 1hour after eating. This will give you a…

Fiber doesn't add calories. It is mostly for digestive regularity. Protein kind of depends on your current weight. I think for an active person it is OK to be at 1g/pound of body weight. I think it is .5grams/pound if you are sedentary. Don't quote me on it but those numbers are ballpark plus each individual is a little…

butter, avocados, eggs, bacon, wild caught fish, whole fat plain Greek yogurt, dark chocolate over 70% preferably 85 or more. Those are just a few things that I eat that are filling and nutrient dense. Throw in in plenty of leafy greens and a little fruit from apples, berries, and other low glycemic fruit.

Ever since I finally bought some 80/20 grass fed beef I fell in love. Just a little salt and pepper. I used to get the cheap 80/20 at Trader Joe's and that was a sticky mess by the time I finished making 1 patty and just doesn't compare.

Google search "Bulletproof coffee". I used to down 2 cans of sugar free NOS a day. Was the best tasting in my opinion but not sold in every store. After a good few years I decided enough was enough. All the artificial sweeteners I think were starting to mess with my sugar cravings and started snacking on candy.

Eating proper amounts of veggies and low glycemic, high fiber fruits are where I get most of my fiber. Cereal fibers and bran have been shown to inhibit essential nutrient absorption.

You're young and haven't dropped a huge amount of weight. It usually takes a good year to tighten up to your new size if you maintain it. I also heard recently to use a dry skin brush to exfoliate and stimulate new skincell growth.
