I guess we'll have to do some more research on it.

No, he is not in a deficit. He hasn't been doing anything and is about 30 pounds overweight. He's just now starting to lift and do some cardio, easing into it. He hasn't changed his diet.

I'm worried about side effects and long term problems. I don't feel like it's been around long enough to trust it. Maybe once men have been using it for another 10 years or so I'll trust it. We're not ruling it out, but I'd like him to try a more natural approach first.

My mother has been overweight her whole adult life, and she eats less than any human I know. However, when she DOES eat, it's utter crap. Chips and dip, ice cream floats, etc. You can eat a whole lot of healthy, lower calorie stuff and lose weight, or a little bit of crap and pack on pounds because it is so calorie dense.…

mmmmmmm fresh-baked homemade bread.....That was pretty much all I could think about when skimming your post.

I will be 40 in June. It took me 6 years to lose 100 pounds (yes, YEARS- I mostly did it with exercise and wasn't too careful about eating) and needed to lose 15 more to get to goal. I then got pregnant last year and gained almost 70 back! I want to get to my goal this year because I want to be able to keep up with my…

Food for thought.....most women need more sodium than they think, unless they have high blood pressure. The rules for women on sodium are not the same as for men because of our different hormones. Read up on it before you decide you need to cut back. This is coming from a woman with blood pressure that is too low though,…

Put on some good music and dance around with your baby, she'll love it! Just moving more burns calories, it doesn't have to be an "official" gym-type workout. Even fidgeting burns extrs calories. Also, I try and do strength training moves whenever I remember. Like 10 squats here and there, a few wall push-ups, some…

I love love love Weight Watchers and their breastfeeding program. I come here for the community stuff and the recipe builder, but I think WW is better because of the weekly meetings and weigh-in (accountability), plus their point system pushes you towards better choices (better choices=lower points) as opposed to just…

You dropped a pant size!!! I think a pant size is about 12-15 pounds so that's at least how much fat you dropped. You just added muscle in the process. Be proud!

For me, it's all a matter of what I can stick to and how I feel. I am on Weight Watchers, and find that my points (think calories) go a lot further towards making me satisfied when I cut out the sweets. Plus when I eat a lot of sugar I noticed I feel like crap and crave even more sugar. All the people who come to these…

Baby is 15 weeks, and I've lost 38 pounds. A LOT was excess fluid that I lost within a few days. I'm on Weight Watchers and exercise a lot plus am super busy and also breastfeeding.

My suggestion is to look at pictures of people who have diabetic ulcers, lost limbs, etc. Read their stories, watch videos and documentaries about them, etc. I have seen diabetics with no legs, on dialysis, etc. I even knew a man who got gangrene in his penis and had to have it removed. I'm not making that up.....Diabetes…

Vitex (chasteberry) is an excellent herb to regulate hormones and periods. It regulated me when peri-menopause started hitting and got my ovulation and periods back to a 28 day cycle, allowing me to get pregnant. It takes a few months though.

Since when is it processed and bleached?? Maybe rbst is given to the cows, so just get milk that says it is from cows not treated with rbst. There's no freaking bleach in milk! Also, prior to homogenization became standard, infection from bacteria in milk used to be much more common. I'm all for natural eating, but don't…

My high weight was 260 at 5'5" and I started noticing it a lot at 215. I still felt like a fat girl though even when I had lost over 100 pounds, down to 151. Still feel like a fat girl now that I'm pregnant and have gained back 30 pounds. I don't think I'll "feel" thin until I'm 135 and have a tummy tuck. Who knows, I…

Yes. They'll still be there, but will be really light colored. You're fair-skinned, so unless you hit the tanning booth, they'll blend in. It just takes time for them to fade. I'm hoping the ones on my belly won't turn pink/red again as it expands (I'm pregnant), so that I don't have to wait for them to fade again.

Everyone is different. When I was actively losing weight (not now, am pregnant), I would eat all of my food earlier in the day and not eat anything after dinner at like 5 or 6 at the latest. Then, I was REALLY hungry but would ignore it. I found it easier to ignore my hunger at night, when I wasn't so busy. Now I'm…

I met my husband when we were both overweight. I lost quite a bit, he didn't. I'm gaining though now because I'm pregnant and too much of it is fat, so I'll probably be back at square one when I'm done. Excess weight is an issue for him when it comes to feeling attracted to a woman, and not so much of an issue for me being…

Iced tea with Stevia! Lipton has lots of cold brew flavors to choose from. Also, having a diet soda every once in a while won't kill you. Cold turkey is probably best though if you're a junkie (been there). You can add one back here and there once you've been without them for a few weeks if you want and it probably won't…

Heavier people lose it faster. The loss will probably slow down the closer you get to your goal. When you get really close, it will probably get extremely frustratingly slow. Screw what other people think. Everybody thinks they have the right to comment on women's bodies.....Too thin, too fat, losing too fast, gaining…

This^^ Please, eat the BF calories. You need them.

A coworker was on depo for 3 years and she's recently gained about 15 pounds....because she's 5 months pregnant despite getting her injections on time :) Just remember that they are now finding that depo loses it's effectiveness after a couple of years.

Mothers are seen as the primary caregivers and therefore get all of the blame and judgment. Umm, there are fathers too.

My suggestion is this- instead of focusing on a time frame, just start and then keep going. I had times when I was losing (not losing now- pregnant) where I would do EVERYTHING right and not lose an ounce in a week. Then, BAM, 4 pounds would be off literally overnight. If I'd have given up, I wouldn't have seen that loss.…

I don't know what your weight is, but if you are a larger person and only ate 2 eggs with some spinach and parmesan, which is probably less than 200 calories, then of course you are hungry! I would be too. That's barely anything. Also, even though people are telling you to eat more protein, I am personally not sated until…

I have to say that you don't know that for sure. I think it depends how intensely you work out. I could plod along on my elliptical and only burn 200 calories at a lower level. However, before my current pregnancy, I got so fit that I could crank that puppy up to a level 10 at an incline, do "sprinting" intervals and burn…

I think it's up to you, and your approach may even vary from day to day. What I mean is that some days you may feel extra hungry and want to eat more, so you might want to dip into them. Other days, you might be fine without them. I'm a relatively small woman, so to lose 2 pounds a week, I'd actually have to eat less than…
