  • I am the same way - and I yo yo-ed around the same weight (I'm still stuck around 160 and I started at 180). I find that, personally, as long as I keep exercising I stay motivated to eat well. As soon as I slack on the exercise I start saying "why bother," but that's my personal thing. I am a student too, and I'm lucky…
  • Oh wicked! Thanks - and that makes a lot of sense.
  • Good to know!! Do you know why the body holds all that extra water?
  • Thanks for the positive responses! It's nice and encouraging to see a difference in the mirror and on how my clothes fit, especially since I have been at a plateau for a few months. I just hope the numbers do start going down - although there won't be any complaining from me if I start to look better hahaha.
  • Hello! I am stuck in the same spot at 160... and it's crazy annoying haha! However, I think my personal problem is that I am eating most of my exercise calories back. Maybe for a little while you could try to eat fewer (less than 70%) back. I'm pretty active even when I am not doing my specified exercises, and I have…
  • I load up on my water! Haha, especially since I work as a therapeutic horse back riding instructor I am out at the barn and under the sun, so I make sure I am always drinking. My goal is set to a 1.5 pound loss, which has always been pretty good (until now). I do use MFP for my calories lost... but I usually write in my…
  • I started running about a month and a half ago. I am losing a little bit of weight, but my stomach is definitely smaller! And that's honestly more important to me anyway. It's also given me so much more energy than when I was working out on the elliptical.
  • Definitely everyday... but peanut butter is my BIG weakness. I could sit and eat the whole jar. So my solution is to buy Reece's Puffs or the Captain Crunch peanut butter cereals so that it's less than 200 calories and I can eat it slowly (if its a treat that I will eat quickly I try not to bother). I just have to remind…
  • Hello! I'm working as a horse back riding instructor this summer (I've been riding since I was 4), and I definitely log it! I don't log all the barn chores I do, but the actual riding I will count!
  • A lot of times if I have a favorite song (and it's on the slower side) I will look on iTunes for a remix version. Recently I just got "Rolling in the Deep" as a remix and its perfect! But 80's music is great too!
  • Finals week is no fun - my finals week started today. Best thing to do is remember to fit exercise in - especially cardio. Try to go first thing, or in the morning so you KNOW you have a little flexibility with calories and it wakes you up. I tend to need something to crunch on, so I like to keep apples or carrots around…
  • Hi! So I just got my navel pierced today - so excited! I love it! I am about half-way to my goal at 160 pounds (I was pretty happy back in the day at 150 where I was just at 'healthy' BMI range, although I'd like to go 5-10 pounds below that). But I thought that it would look okay with where I am at right now, and I adore…
  • I personally tried to do Atkins for a few months... and it wasn't for me. I did see some weight loss, but I didn't even have enough energy to go to the gym. I didn't have much energy to do just about anything. Of course, that is how my body reacted to it, and I'm sure everyone is different.
  • I start off planning that I won't eat them back. However, I am at college and I never know when I am going to stay up later than expected. If I feel hungry after dinner, I will eat up to half of them back. Most of the time I don't really have a problem with feeling tired or fatigued. I do what my body tells me while eating…
  • Awesome! I just wanted to do it sooner rather than later because I hear the healing time is 6 months to 2 years.

  • I actually have a question! When I reach the "normal" BMI weight (150), I want to get my belly button pierced (if I think it will look ok at that weight). However, I still plan to lose another 10-15 pounds. I was wondering how much weight loss affected that type of piercing and if anyone had any experience with it. Thanks!
  • I'm definitely up for this. This will also be the first time I have been home during the summer in 5 years. My mom has also been using MFP and has lost a little over 60 pounds and is still going so she will be a big motivation for me.
  • Hello! I'm still at 161... which I can't believe since I was a real slacker this past week. I really really want to get back into the 150's. So hopefully soon! Although I turn 21 in a week... so super extra gym time for me.
  • Still at 161, but I am happy with that, I was a super slacker this week.
  • Good morning! I am down to 161 today, so one more pound down. I have been weaving around the low 160's for a few months (winter break was a little destructive haha). I really really want to be down in those 150's. Once I actually hit 150 I won't be considered overweight anymore and I will be in my healthy BMI. I haven't…
  • I was able to get up at 5:40 for the third day this week to go to the gym! Just by doing that first thing in the morning gets my day going right!
  • Great job everyone! Goals for this week: 1) Back on track now that spring break is over! 2) Get my butt out of bed at 5:40 to go to the gym to make it a habit 3) Finish my ecology report
  • Good morning! I am still at 162... although I'm not too upset about it because last week was my spring break and I am just happy that I didn't gain. I didn't have access to a computer so I couldn't log.
  • Hello! This week has been pretty hard since it's spring break and I haven't had access to a computer to really check in. However - I did check the scale this morning and it looks like I at least haven't gained any weight. I got to go shopping yesterday though and I grabbed a size 10 shorts because I couldn't find any 12s…
  • I just switched to early AM workouts. I generally get up at 5:40 and get to the gym at 6:00. I love working out, but getting up is definitely the hardest part. I just tell myself that I'll be happy once it is over, and I don't have the time later in the day to do it. It is really important for me to get enough sleep the…
  • Whoops - I didn't mean to post this here haha. I'll repose elsewhere. Sorry!
  • Hi! Just a question - are we going to be starting a new thread on Monday? Or are we going to just continue this one. Thanks!
  • I'm a junior now - and it has definitely been a challenge. So far I've managed to lose 20 pounds, but it seems like there are always endless setback. Especially on the weekends. I've started getting up early during the week (5:40) and hitting the gym. My college's gym is sooo busy during the day and if I go in the morning…
  • I just started getting up at 5:40 so I could go to the gym at 6:00 (I'm in college so it's an easy walking distance). The things that have been helping me through it are: getting enough sleep the night before, packing everything the night before, and immediately jumping out of bed when I first hear the alarm. If I pause…
  • I'm in! My weigh in is on Mondays - I'm currently 162.
