I've noticed that when I run with the flat part of my foot hitting the ground (instead of my heal), I don't get shin splints. I also like running with minimalist shoes that help with this, but I would definitely recommend going to a professional running shoe store. They are very helpful and can answer your questions.

Ahhhh I love it. I either do peanut butter and banana or peanut butter, cinnamon, and truvia.

Hi! I just moved from New Hampshire to Houston a week ago. DEFINITELY much hotter here than back home!

This isn't really a GYM story... but it's how I work out my arms! I do archery and I shoot with a compound bow. Long story short we don't use our fingers to draw the bow back, we use a release. I was drawing my bow back (~50 pounds) and I accidentally shot it off and my hand came back and I punched myself in the face/jaw…

I would recommend finding a specialty running store. It made SUCH a big difference for me. I was looking for a minimalist running shoe, and they took the time to see how I walked, ran, and how my current running shoes looked (where they were worn in).

I 110% agree with this. Scientific literature can easily be misinterpreted or spun to meet the needs of a specific school of thought regarding exercise and nutrition. Even after reading studies from the primary sources they can be difficult to apply to practical purposes. However, they are the only sources with scientific…

Definitely depends on who it is and how you define "chewed" haha.

Like everything - it is in moderation. A glass of wine is good for health. It has a lot of antioxidants which aid in the reduction of harmful oxidized compounds (free fatty acids etc.). Therefore it can help reduce risks for atherosclerosis and other inflammatory diseases. But if you have too much it is harmful to the…

My highest weight was 181-183 (I am 5'5"), and my current weight is 148. I am in unfamiliar territory because I have never been under 150 as an adult. I set my ticker to 135, but honestly I think I would like to aim for anything ranging from 125-130. But we will see! When I get around that weight I think it will matter…

When there were only 151 pokemon you had to catch...

I think I had $10 a week for most of my grade school years. However, I can't remember when my parents started that.

Sodium causes water retention, but will not really affect how much fat is on your body. The best way to eliminate excess sodium is to eat less processed foods and opt for cleaner choices. Sodium is found in a lot of deli meats, canned goods, soups, sauces, etc.

Metal Horse - sounds bamf

I know it is wicked hard - especially when everyone around you is putting fries on top of wings on top of pizza. What I would best recommend is eating lean meats (cooked without heavy sauces too) and avoiding dishes with LOADS of bad carbs. Don't necessarily exclude them, but there are always better options then a bowl of…

9 at my best, 4 at my worst. Haha.

AHHH so jealous! I am dying for a Gronk jersey hahaha. But I can't wait for this game! Get hyped!

It's funny because I really didn't get into the book until 3/4 of the way in and then I stormed through the next two books. I just couldn't figure out what the point was or how it came together. And then it DID come together and I think the whole series is great. I sort of watched the Swedish version... the subtitles are…

Yeah I am nervous to get below 150 - my adult body has never been under that.
-
Definitely hair - and your blue eyes are really pretty too!

I just did Day 1 of Week 2. I'm pretty surprised how quickly endurance builds up. Not that I could do a lot to begin with, but it's interesting when you can only start out with 4 and then go up to 11 in only a week.

I LOVE your hair color and cut - so fierce!

I was always on the higher end of the "healthy" BMI, but I began gaining weight when I stopped horseback riding/went to college. It's so strange going from never having to think about how much you are eating when you are burning it off without trying. Now I have to try... and I didn't realize it until too late haha.

Biceps!

I did pretty well with it - lost a couple of inches. I only completed about 25 days of it though - I started getting some knee problems. I will still use the program every once and a while but I won't do it in consecutive days anymore.

I don't intentionally put makeup on, but if I have it on and I am going to the gym between or after classes then I am going to have it on and I won't bother taking it off.

Yeah. My weight doesn't go anywhere unless I eat around 1,200 - 1,400 calories a day. There is a great buffer zone when I am maintaing though. It's kind of a bummer, but it is what it is.
-
You will get a lot of responses. Mine is - do what works best for your body. My mom has lost 94 pounds eating back all of her exercise calories. However my body won't lose an ounce if I eat them back (exceptions include days where there is extreme exercise... like an entire day snowboarding). Try different things and see…

I'm 5'5" and I'm shooting for 130-135. I've never been under 150 before as an adult (where I am now) so I'm not entirely sure where I want to be in the end.
