Absolute truth! Nothing makes me hungrier than eating an apple.

I always lose weight easier when I do IF, but to be clear there's no magic metabolic science to it - it just makes it easier for some people to control their calories. If I eat breakfast, I spend the rest of the day thinking about what I'm going to eat next and when. I tend to cave and eat my lunch really early and then…

Yes, exactly! We did a six mile hike and have a delicious dinner planned, but I can't portion control if this sucker doesn't sync ASAP!

Yeah, this is an ongoing problem that comes and goes. I'm extra salty about it today for some reason.

You look gorgeous. I'm not Asian, but I've lived in S. Korea and I have a number of friends from various Asian countries and there seems to be a HUGE amount of family pressure, no matter what you've achieved. You can never be thin enough, your grades can never be good enough, your career can never be successful enough.…

I love IF! Like others have said, you still have to maintain a calorie deficit - your eating window is not a free for all. For me, it makes it so much easier to maintain a deficit. I skip breakfast, eat a reasonable lunch around noon, and get to have a huge dinner in the evening (when I have a much better idea how many…

They feed their army exactly like their citizens eat, as or happens.

As someone who suffers from anxiety, and who has really been helped by Lexapro in the past (and is considering going back on it) I'm going to throw a couple of thoughts out there. Is it possible that instead of Lexapro causing weight gain, your anxiety was causing weight loss? My anxiety has historically affected my weight…

I weigh myself when I feel like it. Usually when I feel like I'll probably see a drop on the scale. As long as I know I've been doing the right things (weighing my food and eating fewer calories than I expend in a day) I don't record my weight unless it's lower than my last recorded weight. I know my weight is going to go…

Me too, which is why I can't keep it in the house! I'm not prone to binging, except for peanut butter.

Possibly. Or it'd be wicked easy to make in an excel document. But I'm assuming you know that it would only be an estimate and that weight loss isn't linear. I would hate for you to be discouraged because you weren't right where the calculator said you'd be.

I think there's some truth to the idea that "diets" are not sustainable. But a lifestyle change like most of us on MFP are doing absolutely is. There's no reason you have to deny yourself the foods you like, you just have to fit them into your calorie goals - which makes it much easier to control your eating (like when I…

So much this! OP, if you had a habit of emotionally stuffing your face every time things got tough, I'd be all "rise above it - go watch a funny movie instead!" But you've already told us this isn't a pattern for you. It's just that today, you're feeling really bummed and you're also craving a slice of your favorite cake.…

I like to use apple cider vinegar, red wine vinegar, or rice vinegar as dressing. Otherwise, I'll just pour a ton of salsa on my salad.

That sounds incredible!

This is a fun idea!!! Hubby and I have been getting tons of walking in catching them - today I did squats whenever I was waiting for him to catch something (he's slower than me lol).

Fitbit struggles to sync with MFP. I've found that if I sync with the Fitbit app, then force close and re-open MFP, that causes it to sync pretty quickly.

If you like good quality beer, stick with something with a low ABV - I'm enjoying a lovely Gose tonight at 120 calories per bottle.

Oh, I can totally relate to this. I agree with an above poster that you just have to make time. Some of that will probably have to come by giving up relaxation time, or finding a relaxing way to work out (swimming or a long bike ride on the greenway is usually mine). You can also sneak some working out time into your…

Fortified cereals, lentils, quinoa, dark greens like spinach. Honestly, the easiest thing to do is take an iron supplement (if you don't already). I'm a big fan of the slow release version, as the regular ones tend to cause some... Unpleasant digestive issues.
-
My favorite is the Quinoa Enchilada Bake. But I only make it when hubby is TDY. Because it's a royal pain in the *kitten* to make and then he eats half the pan in one sitting.

Do you weigh all your food? Because there's no way you're eating that little and not losing weight. Also, it's only been 4 days.
-
Not shocking. Nothing inherently evil about sugar, but getting too many of your calories from added sugars means you're not getting enough of them from foods that also have other vital nutrients.

Bumping since BodyMedia is no longer supporting their devices - what does everyone plan to change to? @evileen99 I remember we talked in another thread about loving the BMF and buying a backup unit - what are you planning to do?

I'm in total agreement with everyone who says you don't have to eat it just because he bought it. At the same time, I understand not wanting to hurt your dad's feelings... It's a tough spot to be in. One thing that might help is to figure out why he's doing this, a bit deeper than just that he's trying to be nice. Is he…

If it's sugar free then probably. I imagine it's just ice, food dye, and artificial sweetener.
-
I'm not crazy about them, which makes them perfect for me. I can toss one in my bag in case I get hungry on the go, but I won't be tempted to eat it just because it's there the way I would with basically any other food on the planet.
-
I think they should just nuke it and start over.
-
You think you're not eating enough, so you're taking appetite suppressants. Does. Not. Compute.

Cardio and body weight strength stuff are going to be most like what you'll be expected to do throughout your career. Running, sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups... Anything else is just gravy on the biscuit.
