  • Can you swing a little splurge at Goal #1 and treat yourself to some lower price point clothes that are cute? For example Target has some cute stuff where you could update your Goodwill wardrobe with a few trendier pieces. No, you won't be able to wear it for years and years, but it will last for as long as it fits. Also,…
  • If we had a poll feature, I'd vote for it! I can't believe they replaced a useful, step by step thread with one full of disjointed nuggets like "take the stairs." I mean, what the actual *kitten*?
  • Make sure they teach you good form. If they don't, walk the hell out of there. Also, OP, is your profile photo really you? Because if so, you don't look like you need to lose any weight.
  • This is a great tip! I use the same principle for cleaning the house and it tends to work the same way - once I've been cleaning for the allotted 10 minutes, I have some momentum so I keep going until the whole house is clean. I never thought to apply it to working out, but I can see how it would work!
  • I don't think you offended anyone, you asked a legitimate question - why is it embarrassing for people to see the after-effects of your workout. The answer, basically, is that people get ****ing weird about it.
  • When you're a pale blonde or a redhead, that post workout flush look seriously like you're having a cardiac emergency or something. Also, it might be a gender thing. I go running with my brother on occasion. He's a true redhead and gets even redder than I do. He's also significantly overweight and at risk for an actual…
  • I have the same problem right down to people thinking I'm in distress. If you wear makeup, a good coverage foundation seems to help mask it so I look flushed instead of apoplectic.
  • @kinkyslinky16 How can you tell it's ready to crap out? I'm wondering what warning signs I should look out for!
  • When I have a bad week, I stay off the scale until I've gotten myself back on track. Even if I have gained a couple of pounds, if I've been hitting my goals for the past couple days, I can shrug it off. If I get on the scale when I've just finished going way over my calories, I tend to get upset with myself and beat myself…

  • Oh no, I hate to hear that about the UP3 as I figured when my BodyMedia armband died that's what I planned to go to. With that in mind, I'll probably buy a new BM armband from Amazon or Ebay while there are still some left!
  • Leftovers and tuna are my lunch staples.
  • I'm basically always hungry at a deficit, even when I'm getting plenty of fat, protein and fiber. I've switched to IF, eating between noon and 10pm and made peace with the feeling of hunger before lunch.
  • Holy hell, was that really necessary? That's quite a warning. I have found that hitting my albuterol about 45 minutes before my run is a great preventive, but obviously what works for one person won't work for another. Mucinex an hour or two before is also helpful on days when my asthma is likely to play up (mine tends to…
  • I haven't tried them, but based on talking to friends they aren't half bad if you're trying to sweat out some quick water weight to squeeze into a dress or get your picture taken into a bikini. Then again, I think I read a blog post where you can make your own with like... $0.10 worth of plastic wrap and some baby oil.

  • I work out 5 days a week and have 2 days a week that are "not working out" days. A lot of times on those days, I'll end up burning more calories than I did on a workout day. Getting *kitten* done around the house burns a ton of calories. I probably only take a straight lazy day once a month or so.
  • Every time I go back to look at this picture, all I can think is "Get your filthy shoes out of my uterus!"
  • Merrells are cute, in a hiking shoe kind of way.
  • Shakeology is kind of like Dumbo's feather. Yeah, you can lose weight using it, but it doesn't have any special power. You can lose weight just the same without it.
  • Bwahahaha!
  • I am, but nothing is ready to harvest yet! @carakirkey I just learned this year (after several years of no success) that cilantro is best grown in the spring and fall. It bolts too quickly in heat to be any good. I plan to start some when the weather cools down this September.
  • OP, this isn't the Raw Til 4 thing is it?
  • Yes, MFP is probably recognizing that you were using both trackers concurrently and is ignoring one of the two inputs. Interesting though, that it's overriding MMR with your FitBit. For me, it usually does the opposite.
  • Whatever works for you. It's going to take some trial and error for you to figure that out. Personally, I skip breakfast and eat a big lunch, a medium sized dinner, and save the extra calories for evening snacking. I find that I tend to binge when I'm out of calories - I'll say "Oh, just one cookie won't be the end of the…
  • Oh man, I wish this was still a sticky! I love this thread!
  • Well, no. That's why I bought it though. Tried it, wasn't a fan, shoved it to the back of the cabinet.

  • This might be my favorite gif of all time

  • I dunno, maybe this is one of those things where if you can taste a certain chemical, the food tastes bad. Like cilantro, or coffee. It tastes funky to me.

  • Extra calories? What are those? Is this one of those imaginary things, like leftover wine?
  • Calories too low. Also, consider fat a minimum (about .3g per pound of your weight, if I remember right). You can adjust the ratios in MFP to customize better, if you like.
