  • I asked a physical therapist and when you get the cramps in your legs, swing them to the side, off the bed, and put weight on your legs. It sounds conterintuitive, but it works. I don't know how to prevent them, but this worked when I got them!

  • Circuit training seems to be the best for me - cardio plus weight lifting. I have seen a difference in my body - but I'm also pretty small and have less fat to burn before I see a difference.
  • I think men have a more challenging time with a woman like that due to feeling intimidated! (?? - A question for the men out there - it's just my assumption.) But genetically, men like women with more curves because they are "child bearing." At least, that is what science/evolution has shown in the past. It's not my…
  • hmmmm.... Craigslist has a clothing section. Thrift store.... Vintage stores.... I give my "big" clothes to colleagues at work. This way I get to see them enjoy the clothes!!
  • Six inch veggie on wheat. I do get the cheese, but no mayo or oil and vinegar. My toppings usually include: - lettuce - tomato - cheese - green peppers - spinach I think it's about 340 calories....
  • Hmmmm....Mexican restaurants usually overdo the salt. Possibly a salad with the dressing on the side? No tostada though.... Maybe a lean chicken? I think chicken mole has between 200 - 400 calories.
  • I hate when my husband travels - I eat and eat and eat. But, I avoided the Outback Steak House fries that I wanted and got a salad wrap with easy dressing instead. I decided not to go grocery shopping - just to avoid having lots of food in the house to eat. My confession - I'm a sad eater. I overeat when I am sad. It's…
  • I gave up the scale because I was stuck on a number and not a feeling. If you hadn't seen the 2 pounds, how would you be feeling???
  • Great question.... I'm not sure, but believe that it has a hormonal component (why it occurs more in women). Recently, they have also found specific genes that may lead to more "susceptibility" to acquiring cellulite. Also, they say it may be related to STRESS! So, maybe not worrying about cellulite will help. (Fingers…
  • It's been at least 2 months since I weighed myself. At this point it's all about how I feel. It's okay to put the scale away for a while, there's less anxiety!!!
  • Valentine's Day is just a day. I try and show appreciation for my husband everyday - in small ways. Keeping the spark alive - I don't feel like it's dying, so that's a hard question. We try and eat dinner together, go on runs together, and talk about the hard topics - even if they don't always make us feel good. I try not…
  • Gorgeous! I want another one!!
  • A night with my love, no matter what day of the year it is!!!
  • I like taking classes - they automatically change it up! Boot camp style classes give me the best workout!
  • Thanks! I know our treadmill calorie counter is way off - it is almost double the calories of MFP. I generally air on the side of caution and report less minutes than I actually do - if it's an hour class, I only put in 45 minutes. I may have to go ahead and buy an HRM if I want to be more accurate.
  • We live in Burbank, CA so there are lots of celebrities around here. This month, at our local AMC mall area (.5 miles from our house) was Tom & Katie and Justin Bieber & Selena. Just a normal week here in LA..... But, I have a normal life, job, family.....
  • Great job!!!! I'm also in the psych field! Keep on leading by example!
  • My birthday is March 7th! YEAH! WTG - you look great!!!
  • I'm turning 30 in March! Here is to starting the 30s out healthy (and maintaining it)!!!
  • I also work out harder on Saturdays! I'll add in the doubled water. Now it's just adding the eating clean part..... Great idea!!!
  • I gave up the scale a couple of months ago. I was fixated on the number and not how I felt. Once I switched this mindset I began working out more! I was afraid that building muscle would affect the number on the scale - so I did less exercise. Now, I can see and feel my body changing and there is no number haunting me. I…
  • Can you try a different birth control? I thought the same thing initially, but I started birth control my second year in college (so weight gain is pretty common). Now, I've been on the same pill for a year and a half and I don't think it has affected my weight. Here are the side effects of "the pill": * Irregular bleeding…
  • Good luck! It's a great workout. If you get the chance to try rowing/crew - it's fantastic. There are lots of rowing clubs out there that will let you sit in. There's nothing like sitting right on top of the water and propelling quickly and seamlessly.
  • I was on the crew team for four years in high school (however, I was the coxswain). Rowing machines are a great full body workout. I remember our coach always watching our backs, as many people hunched over. Try adding in sprints (power 20 is what we called them).
  • Look into circuit training (similar to many boot camps). It keeps your heart rate up (like cardio) but also uses weights during some of the movements. It's by far the best exercise I have experienced.
  • I don't know if that's normal. I do know that this happens to young children sometimes and it can be behavioral. If it continues, I would discuss it with your doctor. Also, I've thrown up after eating foods (spaghetti, edamame, etc.) and now have a strong food aversion. I avoid those foods like they're the plague.…
  • We've all been there, at different times, but been there! Remember that with any big adjustment, that it's totally normal to feel down. Keep up the exercise, as it can definitely help your mood. Also, check out yoga classes! Best of luck!!!
  • I'm for starting fresh. It feels good to me. Keep counting the weight you've lost and judge your progress based on how you feel!
  • I've been really happy with my Magic Bullet Blender - and it only costs around $50. I've even chopped nuts successfully!
