  • Ouch!!! Mine is not the same - but I understand your pain and frustration. I did a tibial plateau fracture and ACL tear. Unfortunately, the fracture lodged in my knee joint and restricted all movement of my knee joint for several months. I had two surgeries and had to re-learn how to walk - TWICE! Anyways, that was 6 years…
  • Great question! I give them about 2 months and then delete! This is even for people I know personally, such as co-workers.
  • Lonely Binger - My husband went out of town and I miss him......
  • SoCal here! Glad to hear you're doing so well!!!!
  • Do you have Netflix? They have great streaming videos.....then you can try them out and decide if you want to buy them. Also, the library usually has exercise DVDs.
  • What type of pain/soreness is it? Sharp is bad and needs to be addressed by a doctor. Muscle pain you can push through or take a day off. Otherwise I usually go by RICE - Rest, Ice, Compress and Elevate. You can also take an OTC medicine to help with swelling (you can generally tell if something is swollen when it is…
  • And you are an inspiration to us! Great work!
  • Psychologically? Are there deeper issues related to food? Otherwise, you are in control of your choices, including your mood. Do you exercise regularly? For me, that's the best way to get the extra endorphins I need when I'm feeling lethargic.
  • I have something different - Patellofemoral Syndrome.....(deep pain in the knee) The Orthopedic surgeon and my PT limited me to spinning and swimming (which I also won't do). Exercises....depend on the issue....I thought my issue was weak quads but after an assessment by the PT it is actually weak glutes (specifically my…
  • We've got a bunch of animals here in the Burbank hills (yes, there are hills in Burbank, CA). Coyote, rattle snakes, ticks..... ALSO.....watch out for poison oak and poison ivy too....... (My husband got some sort of rash on one ankle and both his arms after our hike last weekend....)
  • I did it in the fall, but started half way through the program. I ran my first 5K on Thanksgiving in a little over 30 minutes. Just ran a 10K in April (not a fast time - 1:06) but I did it!!!! It's a great program to get you started; however, I trained on a treadmill and ran slower on that than outside..... Good luck!!!
  • Yes, sharp pain in your knee is not good!!! RICE....Rest, Ice, Compress, Elevate.....and see your doctor. I got diagnosed with patellofemoral pain syndrome.....sharp pain deep in my knee joint.... But, it's related to muscle weakness and a previous knee injury on the other side..... The PT assessed my current exercise…
  • It depends on the type of pain. Is it muscle soreness? I tend to push through that.... BUT......I had horrible sharp knee pain and ended up at the orthopedic surgeon and am now in PT. I think we need more information about your pain.....
  • Drink lots of water. It keeps me from over eating!
  • The RDs at work say to use an iron skillet when cooking. I guess the iron from the skillet somehow goes into the food. I found an article on it: http://whatscookingamerica.net/Information/IronCastIron.htm Good luck!
  • When I started really running - about 6 months ago I could only do about 15 minutes. Now I've done 2 5Ks, 10K (running) and a 10K Hike/Run. I have knee pain and have had to slow down and adjust a few things (based on my physical therapists suggestions) but running has definitely gotten easier and I've gotten faster!
  • Yes - find a good orthopedic surgeon. I've had trouble with both my knees and I weight less than 120! So, weight may not be an issue and you want to make sure you are able to exercise and not damage your knees. (I also had new knee pain beginning in March and went out and bought new shoes thinking it was the problem, but…

  • In this order.....Invest, sell my house and buy a new one, splurge a little on me and my hubby, donate my time ('cause I would take a year off of working to finish my hours towards becoming licensed....)
  • If you signed up for a half marathon - you're a runner! Or a quick walker. Good luck next January!
  • ewwwwwww!!!!!!!! My husband always talks about eating bugs on runs.....but having a bug like that....YUCK!!!
  • - I saw that today was the anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing - I remember when it happened. What a great cause!!! - 6 months pregnant and you did a 5K? Impressive!!!
  • You look great! You have curves in the right places!!!! I'm five foot two and around 115 pounds and I have curves too! Embrace them (as I decided I'm not going to shave down my hip bones - if that was even possible!). Curvy ladies unite!
  • I think I look ridiculous! However, I liked learning the moves. Also agree that it wasn't burning 500+ calories. Probably closer to 250 for me. I will go back to Zumba just because it's a different type of workout and I like to switch it up!
  • IRONING!!!! Boo.......I'd prefer to pay per shirt.......
  • Thighs down 5 inches each?? I need some tips on the cardio/leg workouts you're doing!
  • I really, really, really want Chipotle. I haven't been in probably 4 or 5 months. I make a similar version at home that has less calories....but I still crave it!

  • One more suggestion....get a cat! Mine is always there, she sleeps next to me (and my husband) and helps me calm down when I'm anxious/nervous/worried. It's not unconditional love because she can be a pain too, but I love her!
  • I hate to say it - but men love a chase. So, I'd wait for him. I'm not a game player and don't recommend it, as you can't keep it up, but starting off being seen as "needy" is not attractive to a man. (Not that texting him is being needy in any way). Or, you can go the honest route - I thought we had a good time, let me…
  • At least your not allergic to that cute cat of yours!!!! So beautiful!!!! (Sorry, no info about the apple allergy.)
