  • I kept my favourite jeans - they fit me again now! I also have a pair of trousers I bought years ago thinking 'one day I'll lose a bit of weight and they will look great'. Turns out they are for people with stick thin thighs (not me) and huuuuge waists (not me) - so they have just joined the pile of clothes going to…
  • I'm not a huge fish fan either - I avoid shellfish like the plague unless they are deep fried in breadcrumbs (although not eating scampi at all just now, obviously). As an avowed fish hater, I'm surprising myself recently with how much I am eating. I do like salmon - but usually grill it and eat with soy sauce or some…

  • I saw that too. Intriguing, although as I don't really buy frozen food, I'll probably never get around to trying one as I won't stumble across it ... Would like to see then try and tackle the deep fried mars bar next - but I suspect there is no way to make that one healthy
  • bumpity bump ... :)
  • Totally agree with the walking on an incline comments. I was amazed at how many calories that burned when I tried it one day when I just couldn't face the elliptical trainer. I don't run just now because of an injury (which may, or may not, have been caused by running!) but hoping to start again at some point and mix up…
  • I eat *really* badly when walking ;) Start off with bacon, sausages and eggs - good base for keeping me going. Then snack on fruit and nuts through the walk. Yesterday was a '2 mars bar' (snack size) walk. Then a beer when I get home and either steak and baked potato / pasta feast. Plus I drink a tonne of water, and also…
  • I eat loads on the day of the walk, and frankly whilst I snack on dried fruit and nuts during the walk, sometimes you just need a mars bar to give you a boost up a hill! Still usually under goals on the day, so if I'm over on the day before and day after, it's all good!
  • And the worst thing is I am completely ravenous for about 2 days afterwards. *sitting here thinking about what I shouldn't be eating next*
  • I did a couple of munros just south of Crianlarich - Cruach Ardain and Ben Tulaichean - stunning views at the top but then the weather came in - gales, snow hail ... pretty much ran up the 2nd top and down again for shelter. I think we were about 1000m of climbing and 15k in total - bit of a step up from what I've done so…
  • You'll probably hurt for a couple of days. Walking it out will definitely help. Did that one a couple of years ago - hope you had good views :) I'm feeling the same after my climb yesterday (first biggie of the year)
  • I did it a couple of years ago. I struggle to increase my fitness and could never manage to run for more than about 10 minutes, but this worked really well for me, and got me running 5K for the first time. Not running just now because of an injury, but since I did this programme I've found it much easier to pick up running…
