I'll look into them! I really like the Weight Watchers Giant Latte bars (truly giant and only 90 calories), but coffee is super low-calorie, which is probably why they can't make bars of that size in other flavors.

Hi! I'm also a college student (21, female) and I take CVS Brand's Women's Daily Multivitamin. They also make one "for active women" which has green tea extract, supposedly to boost your metabolism...who knows! But I really like the CVS Women's Daily. I have a sensitive stomach and it doesn't bother me.

You naturally burn a certain number of calories a day--the number of calories required to keep you alive (heart beating, lungs and brain going), without any other activity. That's your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). Then you have Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE), which is your BMR plus the calories required to do…

Wow! The difference is evident here. Looking good! Congratulations on being more than halfway there!

I think the rest has been pretty well addressed, except for this. Unhealthy food tends to be fairly high in calories and yet not high in volume. Think candy bars, donuts, sweets, etc. For this reason, it's easy to eat a lot of them and still feel hungry. Notice how Snickers bars push in advertising that they have protein…

I've been having the opposite experience as the above posted. 55 pounds lost through deficit only. I was probably eating 2500+ calories a day before I started logging, which I cut down to 1600. It was hard, but I was again able to adjust. I also cut down to 1200 and it took me a while to adjust. In the end, I was too…

Do you eat a lot of processed foods? Some beverages unknowingly have a fair amount of sodium in them. Your diary isn't open so I'm just guessing.

I've had many bad experiences, but this phrase struck me and reminded me of something: two summers ago, I was on vacation. I wore regular clothes (shorts and a t-shirt) in the pool, because a) fat people bathing suits are expensive and b) I would've worn clothes over said bathing suit anyway. My family, most of whom are…

Agreed.

I think it depends on how you are as a person and a dieter. I've struggled with binging for years. Many times, if I have serious cravings for a long time (like a week), I'm prone to binge on anything. I try to go for healthier versions of things and really limit my portions if I do go for it.

I have cottage cheese with in-season fruit. Love it with berries. The protein makes it especially good (cereal also don't keep me full until lunch) and it's easy to take on the go if needed.

Oh hey, night owls!

Obviously. ;)

I'm very sorry for your loss. :(

Yikes. I don't mind them live from what I've heard--are they not your style?

Is it Bastille? Checked online and wasn't sure.

I think you're my type of person. Hopefully things get better.

I'm guessing you live in the snow zone?

Good thing you have the laptop! Haha. PS SO MUCH.

How about the kind of negativity where we vent in a thread on MFP? :P

Agreed with this. My stretch marks, when I got them (mostly during puberty) were pink and are now nearly invisible--you'd really have to look hard to see them. However, I've been obese my whole life and based on how I look now, I will probably need skin removal surgery. Personally and empirically, based on what I've seen…

It's a simple calculation that can't take other factors into account. You could also be eating more calories than you think, or less than you need.

There are a few possible suggestions here, I think: 1. You're unintentionally eating more than 1200 calories and have no idea. 2. Based on your activity level and age, you are eating far too few calories and your body is starved and holding onto every calorie it gets. 3. Your body likes the weight it's at now and has…

Agreed! Great post. Your grandmother sounded like a BAMF.

This is the best post I've ever seen on the site hands-down. Don't care if that makes me lame.

I recently dropped my diet from 1600 to 1500, and then to 1200 (which I wouldn't go below). I agree with other posters. I found the adjustment period (of about a week) a little difficult, but the difference is the decisions you make. I eat more fruits and vegetables and I also eat smaller portions (that was the biggest…

You're an awesome person. Here's a picture of some puppies.

IMO, it's a matter of habit. It used to get on my nerves, but now it's a part of my life, like anything else. You mentioned you're very diligent in your workouts, so I imagine this wouldn't be too dissimilar. I heartily concur with using the app if you can.

I'm not necessarily speaking to muscles/fat. The females in my family tend to be kind of round and broad-shouldered (me!) or whip-thin, but we all seem to weigh more than we look like we do (including my size-2 cousins, who says new doctors seem surprised at their weight). Same thing happens to me. A doctor once mentioned…

I'm 5'8 and have a large frame (definitely) and the site confirmed as much. They estimated 146 lbs - 167 lbs for me, and I'd say that's about right--I've never been a "normal" weight so I can't say what will look best on me.
