I'm Deshaunte. I'm 5'10, 23, and from Chicago. Currently I'm working full time & getting ready to start Grad school in the fall. Right now I'm around 152 pounds, trying to lose the last little bit of fat & transform my body to a place where I'm completely happy. I'm currently doing an at home workout program where my…

I'm 5'10 in the 150's and my average right now is between 1700 and 1800 calories and I consistently lose while sticking to this. My exercise routine varies depending on what I'm into at the moment. But even when I was doing a program where I was burning only 150-300 calories 5x a week I still lost when eating about 1800.…

So essentially you're asking should you starve yourself today in order to eat a lot tomorrow? ... Sure, if it works for you. Some people have diets set up where they fast a day or two (or eat an extremely low amount on those days) every week. I, however, struggle with the opposite. I'd probably be doing well and sticking…

Yes. Years ago when I first started eating better and exercising regularly my period changed. I used to have periods so bad that I would have to miss school, I would be vomiting and couldn't leave bed (some women suffer from this- the cramps are way more severe than normal ones. They were literally disabling for the first…

Hi, I would like to join the challenge group as well. I want to lose between 8-15 pounds. I workout 4-6x a week & my caloric goals change depending on how I'm feeling but I'm typically between 1600-1800 cals. Thanks! Can't wait to get started. This is also going to give me motivation to get on track & stay on track before…

I see no need harm at you being strict on your diet and going hard in the gym to try and hit your goal :) Even if you fail, you'll be closer to your goal. After the first couple weeks, maybe look at your progress on the scale & see if its working & from there decide if you want to reevaluate ?

Nice! Congrats on all of your hard work paying off.

I'm pretty sure everyone who has a decent amount of weight to lose wants to lose 4... Or 5... Or 10 (etc etc) pounds a week. However, there is this thing called reality that makes it nearly impossible. Commit to a change & do the work. You'll be fine

So many videos... Impossible to do them all let alone choose a favorite! I'm partial to the kickboxing & HIIT routines. Currently doing 1 of their 8 week programs for busy people. I love the fact that you don't repeat workouts with their programs... 30 day shred & insanity get boing because they are so repetitive.
-
I agree with everyone above. Yesterday I purchased the one for busy people for 9.99. You can find all the videos for free online. It just feels good to have something that actually feels structured. I've done a ton of their videos for free, but I would randomly pick ones that sounded good. Now, I have a 2 month plan laid…

Hi I'm 5'10, looking to lose the last 5 pounds. Feel free to add me! I have my bad days, weeks, or sometimes even months lol... But I'm pretty consistent on here.
-
Girl, I completely agree with you. I take the same approach. However, this isn't s an argument you're going to win on MFP. People take the term "cheat day" and get philosophical with. There is literally no difference in eating what you consider a "healthy" diet of 1500 calories a day and then choosing one day to fit in an…

Nope. I say don't worry about it. Everyone's different but I agree with the general consensus here... While weight loss will make your boobs smaller it won't make them saggier. My boobs, which were pretty small to begin with, got smaller, but not saggier. Good luck on your journey :)
-
LOL, I had pretty small breasts before losing weight so I really didn't have to worry about that... Or so I thought! NOPE. Boobs got even smaller.

Where is your proof behind this? If I take a 55 minute spin class, where my heart rate fluctuates between 145 and 175-180. 500 calories is completely reasonable. If I did 5 miles steady state running the average is about 100 calories a mild. Why are suggesting I burn less calories doing HITT when I burn more? I'm…

I think her numbers are more accurate. I wear a Polar hrm, and while I'm not arguing it is 100% accurate it's a great tool. With only 10 minutes of hitt cardio for a warm up I burn 150+ calories. And the cardio hitt based exercise classes I do at the gym give me a 500-600 burn for a 55 minute class, and for the classes…

I just added you :) For anyone else out there looking to add someone with similar stats ( 5'10 around 164 30 inch waist, 38.5 inch hips... Seriously not focusing on a number but on fat lost, if I had to put a numerical value on it is I'd say I'm trying to lose the last 10-15 pounds). But honestly I don't think having…

For me 2-3 pounds heavier at night. Ehhh, maybe 2-2.5 is more accurate.
-
If you think seeing a higher number on the scale will dishearten you, don't do it. Chances are you will see a fluctuation like most women. However you shouldn't fear this as it's not an actual gain in fat, and most likely just water retention. I think it's cool to get acquainted with your body & to know its fluctuations,…

Most methods of birth control do not cause any significant weight gain... But still there is this myth out there that they do. You will be fine, go back on it. Also for me, getting my cramps and pain under control was the most important thing. My period gets so bad that I literally cant leave the house 2 days of the month…

I personally think being condescending IS NOT HELPFUL. I feel like half the people here are trying to force this magical 1200 number on you and the other half are trying to tell you (with a little too much attitude) that if you're being logical & simply doing the math that eating more calories will not create a bigger…

I agree with the other posters on this one. I'm 5'10 but I'm heavier than you at around 165 right now. I don't eat back exercise calories either but I eat between 1500-1700 a day. 1200 is not enough for me. I would always be hungry & it would cause me to binge eat frequently.

You're sad? Girl, 80 pounds is 80 pounds! I understand that you want to see more of a difference, but you are doing great. You could 80 pounds heavier right now, but you've worked your butt off to get where you are. Keep pushing! & im sure there's a difference in how your clothes fit :) Congrats on the lost!

1500-1700. Losing around 2 pounds a week. 5'10. No lifting. I workout out 5x a week. High intensity cardio. While I don't lift about half of the classes I do at the gym are "toning classes" where we are using free hand weights for arm and leg work or using our body weight for the class. Other days are Zumba or Spin.

I put on between 12-15 this winter. But it was a horrible winter! My first time living at home again after graduating college so the food temptations were there & I couldn't bring myself to commit to the gym. I've lost about 13 of those back though. But I realllllyy was out of control this winter. I usually have a winter…

Hmm, I'm not particularly concerned with anyone's diet besides mine. But, if the question was posed (& it was) I have an opinion on it. I totally agree that you should do whatever works for you. I personally could never sustain on 1400 calories of fast food & was just saying j think it's a bad idea to start off like this.…

4 hours of exercise could definitely result in a 1400 calorie lost. She's only burning 350 calories an hour. I use a Polar fit hrm and can burn over 1,000 in 2 hours if I do two high intense cardio classes at my gym back to back. I don't dare try to do this every day, I wouldn't be able to sustain it. But it's possible. I…

... I'm saying I would not advocate it. It's my opinion. Why are you so concerned with nit picking my words & thoughts? Breathe. Everything will be okay. I'm sure you have way more important things to do today to make an argument out of a non-issue online with someone you don't know.
