Update on my "complete lack of energy" : Turns out I was having some upper GI internal bleeding which led to dehydration, so I just spent the last two days in the hospital. I'm sure glad I called my doctor and went in when I wasn't regaining any stamina, They cannot say for sure what caused it, and we may never know, but I…

"Run over by a Mack truck" about summed it up yesterday. My thanks for the suggestions about the B12. I revisited the hand-outs from my doctor, and it turns out I needed to take TWO of the sublingual tablets in order to get the vitamins I need (not the one I was taking.) I also scheduled in a nap today, and watched my…

Adorable how happy you look! And, it's wonderful to see the progression.

Thank you, you guys (as we say in Minnesota). It helps to know it's not just me, and that it'll pass. I AM getting my protein in, but almost no carbs, so I wondered if the ol' body adjusts to almost no carbs by getting sleepy. The 'major changes' comments helps a lot.

It felt silly at the time, but now I see why he did it. My doctor sent me home with a stack of little 2 oz medicine cups and a timer. I was instructed to set the timer for 15 minutes and drink 1 oz of water every time it went off all day long. I did that the first two days home, and now I have no troubles drinking. Worked…

Gina, I can't offer you much by way of advice as I'm a 'newbie' myself in that I'm only 3 weeks post-op, but I wanted to welcome you to the group and tell you that the speed at which I'm shedding the pounds, I don't have any regrets so far.

I'm 3 weeks post RNY, and I believe I'm experiencing hunger. For me, my MIND's hunger is massive, so I know part of it is simply the habit of eating at certains times of day or my taste buds kicking in in reaction to a smell. That said, I'm also feeling physical hunger to the point that my stomach is growling. The major…

One of the notions my nutritionist keep harping on me about was to NOT eat past the 'full' signal. I wonder why your nutritionist would recommend your doing that? I would ask her/him that question.

I enjoyed Body Fortress Whey Protein Chocolate Peanut Butter flavor. I write 'enjoyed' because after living on them for three weeks now, I don't think there's a shake  flavor known to man I crave, but they were tasty to begin with!

Laura, I wonder how you decided to drop to 135, or if your body chose that stop point. I'm one week out, and my doctor tells me 180 is a likely result, but I'm inclined to wish I looked more like you do. I guess my question is about goal setting. Did you get guidance about how much to lose, or did you just play it by ear…

My friends called me "Splatty Patty" for years after watching me do this.

Thanks for the explanation on SPANX. I'm only one week post op and the doctor told me again today that walking is the extent of the exercise he would approve. Rats! However, once I'm on that bicycle, I'll look for some of these. :)

Can someone with tech savvy and patience please tell me how to post a picture? I'm feeling brilliant simply because I managed to add my photo to my profile. :) lol.

I'm new to the group and only had my RNY on June 18th, but I'm finding all of your honest posts extremely helpful. Thank s to all of you who share so freely of yourselves. Meanwhile, what are SPANXs?

I can relate. I lost 100+ pounds (twice) and over the course of 20 years managed to gain it all back twice. I continually curb my activities to avoid people who knew me in one of my "thin" phases although I've never admitted that before. Shame is powerful, but not powerful enough to get me to stop overeating, I guess.
