  • I saw a show the other day that visited a prison in TX. At least there, the most common last meal is a burger and fries. Tough to pick just one thing...maybe lasagna or some really great nachos.
  • Or do a 100 jumping jacks each break.
  • Do you have a bathroom on a lower level of your house? At my office I started making myself drink about 90 oz of water throughout the day (sip sip sip all day long) which results in my needing to take a few more trips to the ladies room a day. I always go to the bathroom on the lower level of the building, down two flights…
  • Thanks for the tips. I used to travel all the time and tried to eat well. I find I'm out of practice. Lunch will only be provided 1 day and I was able to choose a healthy sounding salad, so the rest of the time I'm on my own. I don't know anyone else going so there should be less pressure to eat out for social reasons too.
  • 40 calories a day would be about 4 pounds a year. I mean, clearly you aren't going to notice an amazing difference in weight loss if you start drinking green tea, but 4 pounds a year by that simple change is pretty good I think. Every little bit! :-)
  • When I have something big, I just cut back my calories for the week after or so. Usually I eat all my calories, or most anyway, consuming over 1400 a day on the low end. I cut back to about 1200 daily when I'm trying to make up for some heavier eating. This works really well for me. I don't know how often you weigh, but…
  • Any time you log exercise it will overide any steps added in that time frame...I'd imagine that would include stairs.
  • Dollar store. There are so many little things in the toy section and in the party favors.
  • For starters I'd up that morning omlete to at least 3 eggs. Make a fried egg sandwhich, hard boil them, make egg salad or potato salad with hardboiled eggs in it. You can put a slices of deli meat in a muffin tin, crack them egg into that and sprinkle with some cheese, salt and pepper and scallions...that makes a fancy…
  • I'm glad that works for you, but I already go to bed at about 9 every night...sometimes earlier. Lol. If I went to bed sooner it would be like "Hi honey, how was your day at work? Oh look at the time, we'd better hit the hay. Maybe we'll have time for dinner tomorrow". ;) I guess that would save calories though.
  • Two things for me...#1, when I feel like I still need to eat after I just ate, I find something to do...clean my bathroom, put away laudry, take the dog for a walk...anything but sit in front of the tv really. Usually I forget all about that craving. If I don't, then I eat something...a cheese stick or whatever. #2, I also…
  • http://www.canyoustayfordinner.com/2013/02/20/cheeseburger-salad-with-big-mac-dressing/ I made this the other day...Big Mac Salad. I really liked it. I find fast food bums me out now...if I give in to a craving to eat it, I feel like crap, it doesn't taste as good as I think it will and I don't feel full. But I still want…
  • I agree I would wait. As to all the variations in size and body types, I am a 5' 6" female. I don't think there is any way a size 14 would fit me at about 200...probably more like 175 for me. You are likely different, but I would still be surprised if that would be the right size at that weight. I would wait on something…
  • I get what you are saying. I wish we could customize our own food list more...for example...I cook a lot and so I have lots and lots of recipes I've added. I wish I could categorize these into folders or something. I believe you can save things as a "meal" so if there are muliple things you eat together all the time you…
  • Eat this bar...it burns up all the carbs. And yes, butter is a carb.
  • Personally I wouldn't go down that low. I'm of the opinion that it isn't good for your body, but I know there are many that will debate that. Good for you for eating all those veggies...but maybe melt some cheese on them or dip them in ranch :-) I typically eat about 1,400 a day. I go down to 1,200 for a few days here and…
  • One of the things that works the best for me is waiting 15 minutes to eat. I snack a lot, and I'm ok with that, I just make it work, but when I finish a huge salad for lunch and still feel hungry I make myself find something else to do. If I'm still thinking about food 15-30 minutes later than I have a piece of cheese or…
  • I love making mason jar salads for the whole week. I never was a salad person before, but the key for me is mostly taking things that aren't that good for me and making them in a salad form...like a buffalo chicken salad. I use a lot of restaurant salads as the inspiration and make them healthier. Bolthouse yogurt…
  • It's always scary to get back on the scale, but ultimately you need to know to move forward, unless you go with the above suggestion and do measurements. If you don't hold yourself accountable now, how will you be able to be proud of the progress you make? You'll have no idea you lost 2 pounds this week, etc. As they say,…
  • Yes, you can challenge other Fitbit users regardless of style.
  • I have the Flex now...I actually downgraded from the recalled Force. I love love loved the Force, till it gave me a rash which is why they recalled it. The Charge looks to be almost exactly the same as the Force was, minus rash issues as far as I know. Comparing the two, I still like my flex but I found the added benefits…
  • Two recipes come to mind for me...both from skinnytaste.com. My go to would be her baked eggplant sticks...it's like eggplant parm but in the form of dunkers. It's actually a side dish, but when I want to keep my cals low or just want to pig out without feeling guilty about it I eat 1/2 an eggplant for dinner this way.…
  • I do this all the time execpt I actually just use 6 oz plain greek yogurt and throw in some vanilla and cinnamon. The original recipe was like yours though, although it called for 1 tsp baking soda also. They are the best pancakes ever imo. I love the consistancy.
  • Pre logging is a good tip. I also find the more I eat healthy stuff the worse fast food tastes...I can crave my fav fast food and give in, but then I find it is not nearly as good as I thought it would be, doesn't fill me and makes me feel bad about myself. Going through that enough times I hardly ever want fast food…
  • Maybe check out workout videos on youtube, hulu+, etc. The sun will probably be up long enough for you to run at somepoint while you are there too as we move toward spring. You might not have to deal with this too long. Another thought is maybe you could find a group to run with for safety...I'm sure you aren't the only…
  • I like weighing weekly...I used to weigh whenever I wanted to, often more than once a day, but I decide to make myself try something new. I made only weighing weekly one of my weight loss goals and that helped me change my attitude about it very quickly. Here's why I've grown to like it better: 1. I feel it's a more…
  • This might sound a little strange, but sometimes I make skinnytaste.com's baked eggplant sticks and they really hit the pizza spot for me too. They are tossed in breadcrumbs and parm cheese, then baked. You dip them in marinara. I think they are meant to be a side dish but honestly I love to cook up a half of an eggplant…
  • Personality is way more important. Looks might catch your eye more at first, but I can think of plenty of guys I wasn't lightening bolt attracted too that I ended up developing crushes on or dating after I got to know their personalities. I can also think of some guys i thought were pretty hot at one time too that I'd…
  • No, unless you count the fact that it doesn't taste near as good as I expect it too and doesn't leave me feeling full anymore.
  • Yum. I'll have to try that. I make a taco soup that's similar and always a hit with everyone: Brown 1 pound beef and 1 chopped onion, then add 1 can diced tomatoes (I like fire roasted or rotel for more heat), 1 can white hominy (mexican food asile), 1 can black beans, 1 can kidney beans, 1/2-1 packet taco seasoning, 1…
