  • 6lbs in that amount of time is a huge loss no matter what your current size.
  • I agree with everyone else. Have one if you want one and make it work. It's not going to wreck your diet. When it comes to birthdays, I let my coworkers know that I don't really care for birthday "treats". The department always does something for birthdays and I prefer fresh fruit with dip or something. But I'm weird...I…
  • I can't speak to DVDs specifically but I've been having fun trying out different workouts on Hulu plus. It's nice to have so much variety. So far I've done a barre, bollywood dance, power yoga and cardio sculpt. It's also nice that I can find a workout to fit the time frame I have that day whether it's 20 minutes or an…
  • It really just depends on what state that food is in when you measure or weigh it. Let's take rice...If you add the measurement of the dry ingredient, make sure you search the database for dry or uncooked rice. Big difference because 1/4 cup of dry rice equals about a cup cooked (if I remember right). If what you select…
  • When it comes to dressings I would one hundred percent recommend Litehouse yogurt dressings. They are usually sold in the refridgerated section by the fresh veg. They are quite low calorie and fat without sacrificing flavor at all. I just did a quick search too as I saw someone mentioned light dressings being high in…
  • You poor thing. Well at the very least, it sounds like you are stessing about the stress related hair loss (not that I blame you) but that proabably isn't helping. Easier said than done, I know, but try not to get worked up about it. It seems to me cutting hair short (like pixie cut short) can help thinning hair not appear…
  • You are amazing! Thanks for sharing!
  • I'm with you. There isn't anything wrong with it and don't believe anyone that tells you that. It's all about finding that right balance for you and what is ultimately sustainable. I know I won't weigh everything I eat for the rest of my life, so I'm not going to practice that now...I'm going to get into a habit that will…
  • I agree with JoanneKendric. Peanut butter, protien bars, nuts, cheese...Whatever you go with though, don't get the reduced fat version...you want those extra calories. I'd say even if it's a bag of M&Ms or a can of non diet soda it's better to have those additional calories if that's what gets you there.
  • I go through phases but I most recently discovered this meal and I love it. I have it almost every day and it really satisfies me. 2 slices of toast topped with a misture of 1/14-1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese and low sugar jam. I have been using pumkin butter the last few days instead of jam. It has been very tasty.
  • Personally, I pretty much know what I'm going to eat all day before I even leave the house. I pack lunch and breakfast and know what is either left over for dinner or what I'm going to cook. I almost always log all my meals right away in the day. For me, this serves the purpose of letting me know how much I can have for…
  • Check out the blog budgetbytes.com. She always does delicious meals that are budget friendly but this month she is doing a "SNAP challenge", which I was unfamilliar with but apparently challeges a person to eat below the poverty line for a month. It's pretty interesting. I take some of her recipes and modify to make them a…
  • I'm not sure about extra weight, but I do know most people look younger with just a bit more meat on their bones as they get older...by this I mean most people don't look good at their high school weight as they age...our skin loses elastisity (wish causes sagging and fine lines, etc) and an extra 10-20 pounds over that…
  • I saw a great recipe for a turkey sandwich earlier too! The mysteries of sandwiches explained. ;-)
  • Did it last year (sadly I paid). I managed to have plenty of beer with not so big elbows. :-) I think we got lucky. It wasn't what I expected excatly but a very memorable trip none the less (what I remember that is).
  • Yum :-) Ever made them into muffins instead (or even mini muffins)? Can't think why it wouldn't work but I think it would make portion control easier.
  • I want to feel like it's easy to dress cute and fun to try on clothes shopping. It'd be nice to have "does this make me look fat?" be a phrase less used.
  • I was a flight attendant for a number of years as well as a trainer for a number of years after. At my airline, the flight attendants have nothing to do with requiring the extra seat to be purchased...that call is made before the passengers get to the plane. I am not 100 percent sure where the decision is made, but if you…
  • Hi OP. I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling with an ED. I do hope you continue to seek the help you need to fully recover. That help can't come from here. With that in mind, questions like this one that you posted are probably thoughts to discuss with professionals that are helping you get better as I'm sure they know…
  • I think I've bucked the system on most of those things...like the proper way to make a bed. My mom worked in a nursing home in her yonger years and has carried that skill with her and still tried to impart it to me every time I help her make a bed. I still don't know how to do it. Lol. Setting a table the proper way...I…
  • Mason jar salads are the best! Make them on Sunday and they stay fresh all week so you can just grab, shake and eat. I have never been a big salad eater, but I make a few that I love so I am happy to eat them again and again. For me, the key is mainly litehouse greek yogurt dressings...full of protien, creamy and low cal.…
  • I love mason jar salads. I make a a weeks work on Sunday and can grab and go every day. I didn't used to be a big salad person and I still don't know that I am really...I make a few salads that I love. Chicken Caesar, Buffalo Chicken and Taco mostly. Sometimes I try something else but these are salads I really love.…
  • If you have a food processor, you can chop up veg super small and add to ground beef and not even know it's there in some recipes. Try Emilybites.com deep dish sloppyjoe casserole. There are loads of veg minced up in that beefy mixture and you'd never know it. I add shredded zuchinni to meatloaf which helps keep it from…
  • My thoughts exactly. You are spending a lot of time and engery thinking about a person that you "don't care about". Ignoring a person is always rude so if you were looking for confirmation of that because it's how you want to be, you have it. It is imature and rude.
  • She was being passive agressive. :-) I agree with you 100 percent.
  • Bummer! I did that last week myself. I always keep a few options at my desk (canned soup usually). Nothing that really tempts me enough to eat it except when I have nothing else. Does the grocery store have a salad bar? Those are great. You can even load the container up, get some tortilla shells and make wraps all week.
  • snuggling with labrador...oh wait...that makes me want to stay in bed all day. But it's still nice and my favorite part of the morning.
  • It depends what your goals are here. I look strictly at calories in this situation and when I'm in a pinch and have to do fast food, here are the things I try to go for 1) Subway- the healthier options 2) Taco Bell- fresco tacos. 2 of these are 300 calories. I believe there are other things on the fresco menu. I don't…
