You burn a certain number of calories per day just being alive...even if you didn't get out of bed in a day, that number is usually something like 1,500 calories (varries based on a lot of things including weight, gender, etc. that MFP takes into consideration). So, assuming you don't lay in bed all day, let's say your…

I cook nearly all our meals for our household of two plus dog (though I don't cook for him). Because there are only two of us, I usually only cook a couple dinners a week and we eat leftovers for a few days. On the days I don't cook dinner I usually have to run errands after work. The mondern day housewife is out there.

i love to see so many that are comfortable with realistic weights for themselves. I'm 5' 6" and, with a larger bone structure, I'm aiming for 140 ultimately. My initial goal is 150 (which looks pretty good on me) and maintain for a while to get comfortable with maintaining before the really hardwork of losing that last 10.

Maybe think about easy stuff to thrown in your purse too...like Lara bars. Trader Joe's sells nice single serve bags of nuts and trailmix that would be good too and help curb your hunger.

About 120 oz I think. I have a 34 oz water bottle I fill and drink 3 times during the work day and I don't count anything else but usually at least 2 more big glass of water in the evening.

Look, you can't change that you slipped. The only thing you can control now is today. Everyone has bad moments but the only people that are successful are the ones that just deal with it and move on. Also...think about it this way...did one bad meal get you to where you are now? No. No it did not. This one bad choice will…

It's only one meal, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Maybe try to stay away from the bread basket and opt for a side salad (with dressing on the side) instead of the buttered potatoes or whatever comes with what you choose. Sounds like a tasty meal.

Not sure, but I would guess so. They use priority 2 day shipping, and I would imagine that may not apply outside the US... I know I don't spend 50 dollars every month now, but I bet I spend 600 a year and most of the clothes are not high quality. Can put the membership on hold at any time too, so I will probably take a…

Try Healthy Cookies from Skinnytaste.com...mashed overripe banana and oats baked. That's it unless you want to add nuts or chocolate chips (which I always do). They taste just like banana bread but are a lot healthier...best of both worlds :-). They freeze well but do not keep at room temp for more than a few days because…

Great info! I have friends that do Stitch Fix (and love it) but in that case you are purchasing what gets sent if you like it, not renting it. I believe you get three days to send the items you don't want back. Different but still a cool service, especially for the very busy or those that don't have access to a lot of…

Those are great ideas too. I've heard thrifting is really tough for plus sizes...not much selection and very little nice things. This is also a good option for someone without much time for shopping. Every little thing we can do to feel confident and beautiful :-)

They go up to size 14. I think this is perfect for that type of thing...or the wedding you need a dress for that you know you are only going to wear once!
-
I totally though of that too! :-) Love that show.

I'm looking for support and like giving it too! Anyone can feel free to add me :-)

It varries greatly. Some people can workout hard, eat right and not lose for months...most people will tell you the last 10 or 15 are the hardest and slowest to lose, which can be pretty frustrating/disheartening as I'm sure you can imagine. In general though, people with more to lose "should" be at it longer.

My ultimate goal is 140, but I'm shooting for 150 right now where I will learn how to maintain that loss before pushing to that ulimate goal. I look too skinny any lower than 140. It's all about that bone structure and mine is on the larger side. You've got to do what's right for you.

5 for me, but I only started out with 20 to go. I find limiting my weigh-ins to once a week really helps me to focus on how I feel and the differences I see in the mirror. There are lots of other benefits too, but that more positive mental state is one of the biggest.

I'm sure this is a really tough situation for you. I can somewhat speak from your daughters perspective...I have always struggled with weight and to me, listening to comments from my mom was the worst thing. I felt shamed, and I know she just wants me to be healthy and feel confident/beautiful, I've always known that but I…

I've always been able to lose weight eating at a defecit, but I started losing weight easier when I cut out alcohol during the week. It's changed my habit of using whatever calories I have left on a drink when I am not really hungry at the end of the day. Saves me $ too. I still enjoy my drinks on weekends though :-)

I have 2 slices of light toast topped with about 1/3 cup cottage cheese and 1 TBS low sugar jam most days. I do the toast once I get to the office. Not sure why someone would suggest you skip it when you are looking for suggestions...some of us need to eat right away in the morning...I'd imagine most people that skip…

It is. And the certain basic rule in this case is "wear clothes" not "wear the right clothes". That's where the personaly freedom comes in.

It's not about being politically correct or not. It's about not telling other people what to do. You can tell someone they look like crap in yoga pants. You might get punched in the face but it's your right to say it as much as it's there right to wear them.
-
AMEN! :-)

I wear them because they are tremendously comfortable, not to be sexy. There are always going to be woman out there looking better in the same outfit as me but I'm not going to let that dictate how I dress, especially when it comes to being comfy.

You can be underweight and still have fat...fat is part of the human body composition. I'm not saying you are underweight for sure, but it might not be a bad idea to check with your Dr next time you are in about your current weight. Did you have an actual BMI check or are you just going by the weight range listed as…

This is exactly what I've started doing. I love a glass of wine (or two) at the end of the day, but I've decided I just don't need it, so now it's only Friday-Sunday that I can have a drink unless it's a special occassion or something. I've found my weight loss is going much quicker. I think a big part is that when I have…

I've see eggs cooked in an avacado before...never tried it though.
