  • I (maybe/sorta) fit into this category. If its a non-exercise day, I'll eat around 1400. If its one of my running days, I'll eat anywhere between 1800 and 2000, depending on how far I run. I'm 4'11" On my non-exercise days, sometimes I do. Its not a horrible hunger. Its more of a boredom hunger, where my body wants food…
  • Depending on how you feel about the artificial ingredients, 100 calorie bags of microwave popcorn are a godsend. They're great for people like me who want to feel like they're eating a large portion. You can also yogurt. I'd recommend going for a greek yogurt that doesn't have a lot of added sugar; I know that fage sells…
  • No I don't. Someone recommended a website for me, and on it I found a work-out plan. I've been doing the three strength training exercises. I've only been doing what it says in the charts (not following the lesson plan and the changes it says I should make week to week)…
  • I prelog A LOT, but usually just the day of. My breakfasts are usually pretty consistent, so I'll eat them before I log, and then once I figure out my main meals for the rest of the day, I log those. Seeing what I'm going to be eating really helps me to plan snacks and to be prepared. I also give myself a little wiggle…
  • I do mostly free weights and I agree they're better than a machine (anything is better than that awful pull-down machine), but I still find myself dreading each set. I'vee always wanted to try Crossfit, but its way too expensive for me. I think actually taking classes would be good motivation, but I just can't afford it.…
  • I'm going to just pretty much repeat what everyone is saying and tell you "who knows" You might lose weight from your chest, you might not. At 4'11" and 125lbs, I was a tight 34 D. Now that I've lost 15 pounds, I'm somewhere between a 34 B/C. I haven't been measured since I lost weight, but I have bras in both 34B and 34C…
  • GO PACK GO!!!!!!! The team from God's country!
  • Not going to lie, I've eaten dog biscuits (blue dog bakery brand), because I was curious. The ingredients were actually better than most boxed "people" cookies. They tasted like crunchy, thick, savory graham crackers. I have no shame in admitting that they were so delicious that I ate one a day whenI was taking care of my…
  • Neigh baby, neigh! I've been riding since I was twelve. I started off riding english, but once I got to college and joined the equestrian team, I switched to western. I competed on the team for the four years I was there and had so much fun. I don't own my own horse, and haven't ridden since April (I'm in serious…
  • I'd highly recommend seeking out an experienced trainer, someone who has schooling in animal behavior. Your dog sounds like she has some food aggression issues. That could be dangerous to your child, especially when he/she is old enough to be crawling around. I'm worried what might happen if your child started playing with…
  • Oh god, the chicagoan in me is screaming pizza without a doubt. And yes, that includes dessert pizza as well.
  • **** Pierce EDIT: Really? You mfp really just censored a nickname for "Richard" Sigh I'm a rebel, guys. AIn't nobody can tame me!
  • "Too thin" is a weight that is harmful for your body to maintain, but it can differ from person to person. What may be one person's healthy normal weight that they don't even work to maintain can be "too skinny" for someone who's body is healthier at a higher bmi.
  • Anything without an asterisk before it comes from the USDA and can be pretty highly trusted. Other than that, unless you can verify it yourself there's no way to be sure. Google is your friend when you're searching for nutritional labels on packaged items: its often pretty easy to find common items on google.
  • Short chicks unite! :) Height: 4'11" Weight: 108 Bust: 34" Waist: 26" Hips: 34" As for your question, I think it depends a lot on what types of exercising you do. I ran a lot of running but didn't focus very much on strength training my legs/butt area, so I did lose mass from my butt. luckily, however, it wasn't too much…
  • 5K Turkey Trot with some friends in the morning Help my mom prepare the feast Eat a big portion of low calorie veggies before hand When the meal is finally ready, I'll take moderate portions of whatever I want. And if I want seconds, or thirds, or fourths, I will take them. I will make myself comfortable full, not stuffed.…
  • http://www.weightwatchers.com/food/rcp/RecipePage.aspx?recipeid=161891 This recipe for butternut squash with garam masala is so good, and its super healthy as well.
  • Jello sugar free chocolate pudding. 60 calories for a regular sized, 1/2c pudding cup. Yum!
  • I have this scale and I love it! It works so well. Definitely go with the scale. You're right about the measuring cups: even though they should all be the same size, their true capacity varies. If I remember an article from "Cooks Illustrated", different models can vary by 20% Another advocate for the scale is Food…
  • I hate to bump this again without giving any useful recipes, but I would like some recipes as well
  • I'm am avid baker, and will often use egg beaters. From my experience, the egg beaters do not make much of a difference in the finished product. I can sometimes see a difference in the uncooked batter; a batter with egg beaters tends to be not quite as elastic as a batter with whole eggs. Something about the whole egg…
  • Push yourself away from the computer, close your eyes, and take a deep breath. Ask yourself why the things that annoy you so much annoy you. Why does it annoy you that you lost money? Why does it annoy you that your roommates are being loud and smoking pot? It may sound weird, but I find getting to the root of my…
  • I've always cut it in half before microwaving it because I figured it would be easier to separate the seeds and pulp from the flesh that way. Cooking it in the oven takes too long for me. Does nuking it whole effect the seeds? Because a lot of times I'l save them for roasting. And I would love to have an electric carving…
  • Water is good for you, to put it simply. Your body needs water for a lot of its daily functions. Being properly hrdrated keeps your brain and internal organs healthy, keeps your body running like it should, and may even help reduce cravings (sometimes your body goes into craving mode, where it wants food, but in reality…
  • @KeltaRose: A butterfly. That's the first thing i thought when I saw your avvie.
  • Cravings are not easy to beat, and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. I've suffered them. I still do. I find that hot tea really helps. It doesn't seem very satisfying when you're tearing through the pantry looking for something to eat, but after a couple sips that insane drive to eat dissipates. Teas are great…
  • Low fat or fat free greek yogurt (Fage is the best brand, in my opinions). I love to pair it with fruit and a bit of stevia. 1/2 cup yogurt + 1/2 cup (80g) sliced strawberries= 90 calories, 12g protein, 0g fat, and 100% of your daily intake of yummmmm Veggie omelet/scramble. The veggies add some good bulk and nutrients,…
  • I'm from Northern Illinois (the west suburbs of Chicago, to be more precise). Feel free to add me as a friend :)
  • In theory, your body does use more calories to keep your body warm when the weather is cold. However, the amount of energy your body uses is negligible. One exception is that shivering will burn a decent amount of calories, but being that cold jsut isn't worth it to me, and I don't even know how you would begin to…
  • I love Aldi too! Their canteloupes and pineapples are great! At other grocery stores I do my best to pick out the best looking melon/pineapple, but sometimes I'll cut into it at home and it just doesn't taste that good. For some reason, I've had fantastic luck at Aldis. It seems their stuff always tastes great.
