Thanks for all your comments! I'm going to start logging my water intake again and hope that helps :)

Wow, high heart rate! Good for you! And yeah you're right about just logging 450 - and hopefully you'll see One of my new years MFP resolutions is to do less cardio and spend more time on strength - at the end of last year I pretty much abandoned strength training so I could do more cardio to compensate for too much…

I've been trying to get back on track with drinking lots and lots of water, especially since my coffee consumptions shot up! Got to counteract that! So it was 15 glasses yesterday - yay! How's everyone doing?

Losing weight is really hard to do and I think, for me at least, something has to 'switch' to get me dedicated enough. If you don't feel like you're in the right mindset yet why don't you just aim to generally eat healthier or watch what you're eating and try and get some exercise in? Then when you feel ready to give it a…

Well I'm on the pill so I don't know how that affects TOM weight gain... but hopefully! I know that the calorie math doesn't add up - I'm just worried that because I was being really good that my body stored all the extra calories as if it was in "starvation mode"? I mean, my net calories were between 1000 and 1500 in the…

722 is high, but perfectly possible! Especially if you haven't been exercising for a while? (I'm assuming it was like a 60min workout?) When I'm working hard I usually burn 10-12cals a minute - if you've got a normal burn you could always substitute than in instead? Either way, well done for getting back on the exercise…

Can I join you? I've been battling with these last 7lbs forever and now that it's the new year I'm ready to be serious about it too. Your rant was great! I've been too scared to see the damage on the scales since my Christmas binges so I don't know my stats atm - I know I've put on loads though. I was going to wait until…

Hi, I want to lose about 14lbs but mostly tone up and get really fit. I used to be veggie and love vegetarian food but I never managed to get enough protein so now I eat white meat and a little fish every now and again
-
I just want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who was contributing to this thread - I know I went a bit downhill in the days before christmas but this has been so so useful and has got my back on the wagon many a time  I had a total disaster today and still got the courage to log it all and found that after the…

Hello! Can I join you all too? I'm from London and joined MFP in August hoping to lose a stone and get to 8st10 in 2 months. Well it's been WAY slower than that but I'm happy about that because I've learnt all about the importance of body fat % and strength training and losing those last few pounds slowly etc etc.…

you look amazing!!!

The average muscle mass is 36%?! I have the omron body composition scales with the handle bar and it measures "skeletal muscle" - is that the same as muscle mass? Because mine is only 31% but at the gym their toning leaflet said the average is 28% so Ithought I was ok? Lol if I should be at 36% then I have lots of work to…

O, and also, I don't know how the 30 day shred works but maybe different muscles are targeted on different days? Either way, I agree with kate1500 - maybe you can alternate? Doing the same routine everyday until February may not get you the best results

I think it's not that you shouldn't strength train every day at all, but more that you should make sure you're not training every muscle group every day. So suppose you did upper body on Mondays, lower body on Tuesdays, your core on Wednesdays, day off and then repeat for Friday Saturday and Sunday that should be fine…

Ahh, the scale...I think it effects everyone differently - even though it brightens my entire week when I've had a good loss, it tends to make me binge and undo all my hard work. For other people it motivates them. You know yourself best, if you think keeping track of the number on the scale is counterproductive, don't! I…

So I'm ashamed to say that I didn't log at all xmas eve and xmas day :embarassed: ...but I did sign in so I could keep my ticker going lol. Ah dear, well I went completely overboard for a couple of days before xmas eve and those 2 days but I'm now firmly back on the wagon. My weight's come off so slowly and I've worked so…

So I came back home last night to the leftovers from my mum's dinner party - mini mince pies, stollen slices, puff pastry vegetarian sausage rolls and a Mediterranean vegetable tart. Yum  ! I'm a pastry fiend so I'm going to have to summon up all my self control to not munch my through it . I tried a little taste of…

So after weighing in at 131 (7lb gain :noway: ) on Boxing day I was down to 129 today. Hopefully with watching my salt and drinking loooads of water it'll continue going down and the damage won't have been as bad as I thought! Done well today, although after dinner I felt a big festive snack attack coming on... had a…

I ate a bit more than planned today - got a xmas food related snack attack! but still was well under so compensation period is going well! I'm trying to be very very careful until NYE (don't want to feel flabby in my outfit :grumble: ) and then I'll go back to normal after that. Haha, well done for avoiding the daytime…

great post :)

Yes! I'm going travelling in June (hopefully around South America) and want to feel happy in a bikini so need to get my body fat % down and do lots and lots of toning. Your challenges sounds great!
-
Can I join? I also tend to start and stop and just before Christmas I was doing better than I ever have... but now I've stepped on the scale and it's a disaster! But I'm determined to get back on track. Don't want to undo all my hard work! Going for the water now (glug glug)

Lol, that's what I'm hoping for too. 600-800 the last 4 days isn't too bad! 4 or 5 days of clean eating and you're even :) I think I went over by about 2000 for 4 days... ouch! I was too scared to log so it's a guess, but still... pretty gross! Loxleys - yay, welcome! Well done on your run! I've had a good start today and…
-
Thanks for all the advice & comforting  I'll check again in a week and see if most of it has gone... fingers crossed!
-
Yup, starting today! My gym's closed until tomorrow unfortunately so I'm being super careful today and will be exercising hard starting monday. What're you hoping for this month?
-
hey everyone, it sounds like everyones coping pretty well considering how hard the holidays are! i figure, as long as youre still here it's a success! i had a big big falling off the wagon, but im back! decided to try and minimise the damage rather than binging continuously til the 27th  going onto maintenance…
-
well done! how was the facial? vayax, howre you doing? i finished mine a 2 days early with falling off the wagon majorly... but im back! so im just going to continue til xmas eve now to make up for it. woohoo almost done!
-
@cardbucfan - yay for this challenge working for you!! So I'm starting to feel the festive strain weight-loss-wise.... although I know that all of you who celebrate Thanksgiving have probably been feeling it a while now :ohwell: . We've got family staying saturday-tuesday, more family thursday - friday, I've got a training…
-
I can really relate to this... looking back at the days when I have completely fallen off the wagon I've found they're always either really good weigh in days, or the day after. Even though I used to weigh myself everyday, I'm now trying to weigh myself as little as possible (sometimes I make it to 3 days, sometimes 2…

Argh, I had this problem as well when I bought a new scale. It's so upsetting! It may not even have been an accurate reading (let's say, if you'd consumed too much sodium recently) but either way, what I did when this happened was to go... Home ->check in -> edit previous entries and change your starting weight to what…
