It depends on what WW plan you're doing. I suppose if you're doing full choice then it's pretty similar, although the points system takes into account fibre and sat fat, and you get unlimited veg (certain kinds). If you're doing no count then it's not really the same because it's not based on a calorie-counting style…

I find this to be a really good calories burnt calculator http://www.braydenwm.com/calburn.htm I don't have a HRM so I can't get the more accurate readings lots of people here get, but if you get your average heart rate from the machine on your next work out, plug it into the calculator and you should see a pretty good…

I agree, you should definitely be eating more, especially if you're feeling weak. I trained for a half marathon last year and at one point I was trying to lose weight at the same time, which I found really really hard. I'd get so exhausted. I don't know if you were a runner before you started training but I wasn't and…

I have it made with water and cut up a banana quite small and throw it in. Then the banana caramelises in the oatmeal and it goes all yummy and soft and releases the natural sugars into the porridge. sooooo good

Ooh can I join? My goal is to continue losing (just broke through a plateau). Not that fussed how much as long as the numbers are going down! SW (6/11): 125.5lbs Goal for the end of the month: 123.5

210 to 175 is amazing! Well done! I wouldn't worry too much about not seeing results yet, just try and stick with the strength training! I joined the gym 2 months ago and asked how long it would take til I saw toning results... they said 4-6 months!!! So I'm sure they'll come for you in time

Instresting thread! I started at 133lbs. I'm not 100% what my body fat % was because I got it measured at the gym half way through the day but I got a reading of 30.8% 2 months later and I'm at 125.5lbs and am getting a morning reading of between 27.5% and 28.5%. Yay

Oo yes can I join too? I wanted to lose 14 lbs. I've got 6.5 to go and theyre taking SO LONG! Think I'm going to make my aims... - Cut down/cut out the alcohol (am 21 so this is not particularly appealing  ) - Eat more in the morning, less at night - Don't get caught in the trap of eating too few net calories and…

Thank you for all the advice, especially the Banks post! I can't believe it, after just TWO DAYS of upping my calories i lost 1/2 a pound!!! I know everyone goes on about how it's the way to get over a plateau but it just seems too counter-intuitive to believe until you find out for yourself. So excited!

I have no idea how reliable this actually is because I don't have an HRM... but i use http://www.braydenwm.com/calburn.htm If you're at the gym you can check your HR on the machines, or if you're running outside or something you could stop for a minute and check it yourself. Hope this helped!

I want to lose 7 more, which'll still keep me at a healthy weight, and then focus on strength training which'll probably get me up to a higher weight anyway (I'm already doing weights now, but also working on losing fat). But even tho I'm not very heavy my body fat is at 28-30%. Definitely want to get that down.

Theres a weightwatchers eating out guide that I have... I think it's in points tho. I cant remember if it has calories as well. Was there a restaurant in particular you were thinking of? Can have a look for you. Or you can get the book off ebay (i got it for like £2). I think you can guess 1 point is roughly around ...…

Thanks for all the good advice! I have a question which may sound pretty stupid tho... When you say lift 'heavy', do you mean as heavy as I can with fewer reps? Or up the weights to as heavy as I can while still doing 10 but only 1 set? I'm rather new to this strength training business :blushing:

Ahhh congrats!! This is what I want too! Still got a bit of a roll tho :ohwell: The food scales really good advice... I live with my family still and didnt want them thinking Id gone a bit mad if they saw me weighing my food (which they definitely would!) but after the big differences you said I may have to suck it up and…

The MFP has jogging on the spot in their exercise database - that burns a reasonable number of calories too.

I think that if you were losing muscle mass your body fat percentage would have actually gone up. I wouldn't worry, body fat percentage takes a lot longer to reduce that your weight  It sounds like you're doing everything right so I'm sure you'll see it go down. I was recommended to check it every month, so maybe…

Hi, great thread! It's so good to know that loads of people are finding the last few pounds really slow to get rid of as well :drinker: I started MFP at 5ft7 and 133 which is my bodys favourite weight... always seem to get back to it. I'm now down to 126 and those 7lbs came off really nicely at 2lbs a week. So satisfying!…

mmm starbucks drinks are so good! If i fancy something nice and sweet I go for a tall coffee light frap (90cals), or if i want something more treatlike, a grande mocha light frap (140cals and so so worth it). Although i hear that the calorie contents are slightly different here in the UK?

I used to smoke 20 a day until last year, when I decided to run a half marathon. I figured at 21 I should probably be at my fittest, not unable to run down the street! At first I convinced myself I didn't have to stop smoking, but after a while I did and felt so much better for it... and I think having a goal like that…

:O I cant believe I never knew that yoghurt is high carb! oops :embarassed: good idea with the nuts!

yeah, I've been exercising really hard! 3-5 times per week. And I thought that maybe I was using the treadmill too much so I changed to high intensity sprinting and now mostly use the elliptical and stairmaster instead. and I strength train... I thought that maybe that was why I'd stopped losing weight so I made all the…

I second the yoghurt idea - you can get a little tupperware box and put in low fat/fat free greek yoghurt with blueberries and raspberries. really nice and has a fair bit of protein
-
when i have pasta i usually boil some broccoli, carrots and green beans and then throw them in with the pasta, with onions and tomato sauce. if you want protein in you can add chicken, and if youre worried about it being a little plain you could add cayenne chili pepper.. then you get loads of flavour! personally i really…

well, i tried to have a look for you... if you go here http://www.tobycarvery.co.uk/eveningcarvery/ and hover over the picture of the food it gives you the nutrition info... but again, for 100g of turkey. was it served in slices? you could always search how much a slice in a carvery weighs approximately?

Congratulations on the weight loss! I remember losing about 25lbs over a summer when I was 16, and everyone commented but it took me a really long time to see the difference because it came off so fast. Even if you stuck to 2lbs a week, a big change over not very long is going to take a while for you to adjust to. Can you…
