Don't beat yourself up...many of us have been there. It's really hard to stand up to those around you, especially when there are a lot of them! The good news is you're back on track starting today. Prayers going up for you!

Sounds like a keeper to me! Keep up the good work - congrats!

For me, life includes holiday meals with family. We had to do Easter dinner on Sat night because we were traveling home on Sunday, which also meant not much exercise happened the past several days. I just kept my portions right and had micro-portions of the less nutritious stuff (green bean casserole - yum!). I didn't do…

I have snacks built into my daily calories. I, too, get bored eating the same things all the time. I'm also very much a grazer vs 3 squares a day. On the weekend, I'll use snack size baggies & prepack measured portions of dry cereal (multi-grain Cheerios are a fave), pretzels or other healthy munchies (Meijer whole grain…

That's fantastic! I've been on the treadmill for 4 months & am still only doing 2 minutes run/3 min walk intervals at 5.0. Guess I need to push myself harder. Congrats on your accomplishment!!

Peanut M&Ms, Snickers, Dove dark & this time of year, Cadbury mini-eggs - I can eat a whole darn bag in a day. Easter needs to be OVER!!

From my experience with friends/children's relationships, it doesn't do any good to tell the person what a putz they've been dating because they just get defensive for their ex. They have to figure it out for themselves, which she will in her own time. She just needs support right now that she'll be fine, she's a great…

I do this more frequently than I'd like to admit. I just read in Fitness (I think it was Fitness  ) that if you eat a big piece of cake on Monday, you'll feel the effects of the sugar on your cravings until Thursday. I realize everyone is different in how foods affect them, but that was an eye opener for me. I do…

And the pressure from friends & magazines & the media probably have them thinking they are already fat (a lot of models are size 0 or less and the clothes are baggy on them before tailoring). If they are happy at their sizes, you're doing a great job as a mom in keeping them well grounded in reality! Good for you!

Amen! Everything I've read in health magazines say the same thing. And it's hard on your body. You may actually clean out good bacteria that your body needs to do its job internally.

If the hotel has stairways, you can do some laps up & down those - great glute workout!
-
Absolutely. I drink a lot of water & Crystal light, which have no calories, but if I have a glass of wine or juice, it goes in my tracker!

Different things work for different people. For a lot of people, cooking everything from scratch is impossible, so to cut calories, you buy low calorie foods which can contain artificial sweetners. I've read research on both sides & still can't make up my mind - it depends upon what you read as to whether or not it's okay!…

Bump! Fajitas going on the menu as soon as I can get to the store!

I'm a fan of Mrs. Dash - several varieties to choose from. Once you start cutting sodium, you don't notice (until you eat out and wonder why everything is so salty! ). I've also learned that I use spices a lot more now; we add a lot of cayenne, cumin, basil, garlic powder (not in the same dish though  ) -…

I know everyone has to be comfortable as they see themselves, but I think if I was in a size 5, I would be in a bikini! That being said, my personal goal is to just look better in ANY swimsuit by summer that isn't a "swimdress". Good luck on your journey! Almost 4 pounds in 2 days, I'd say you are on your way!

I'm down 39 lbs and haven't gotten the comments I expected (especially from a few people I hadn't seen in 3-4 months - you would think they'd have noticed!), but I think people are sometimes afraid to say something because then they are somewhat admitting out loud that you are/were fat. It's such a sensitive subject...and…

Shred it, add a small amount of water or chicken broth, and then cayenne pepper & cumin to taste. Heat through, wrap in soft tortillas, add lettuce, salsa, etc for soft chicken tacos. No tortillas? Add black beans, diced tomatoes & little brown rice to the chicken mixture instead. You can still top it with typical taco…

This one is easy - I use whole grain pasta. The sauce: 4 cans diced tomatoes (undrained) 1 small can tomato paste (6 oz?) 1 T dried basil 1 T dried oregano 1 tsp black pepper 1/2 tsp salt 2 tsp chopped garlic 1 T olive oil 1 tsp cider vinegar Mix all ingredients except vinegar in a pan on stove top. Heat over medium; just…

I'm not sure I've seen anyone "yelled at" for eating badly, so I guess I'm glad I've missed that! What I have seen is people complaining about not losing weight, yet they've been eating mostly unhealthy - fast food, chips, sweets, etc with an occasional piece of fruit thrown in. My advice is if you can't tell from your own…

That's terrific!! And remember, don't get too hung up on the daily weight fluctuations. I go back and forth all week but usually by my weekly "official" weigh in, I'm down overall. Great job!
-
Not enough info - are you weighing every day? Weight will fluctuate based on the actual weight of your food & whether or not you've "passed" anything out. In other words, if you're a bit plugged, your weight will increase until you're not. I tend to watch my weight daily but really pay attention to what happens on…

Aren't the little victories so amazing? Great job!!
-
Now THIS is funny!! I will probably be using the first one within the week!

I'm not although I do have one (just haven't gotten the courage yet). My fav right now is a Mari Winsor Pilates DVD - it's a great core workout in 22 minutes.

Just catching up from the weekend so I just read this. It sounds like your exercise is good - intervals are a great way to get your heart rate up. I agree with others that maybe adding some time might help. If your food diary is accurate, you might want to look at a couple of things: 1) up your water intake (try for at…

It could be several things, but I'm inclined to think you are dehydrated. If you are working out pretty hard over the course of a week, I would drink a G2 or Powerade or something along that line on a daily basis. They really do work better than plain water for people who work out hard. Also, drink a lot of water…

Your body is dying for some food! You're eating 1,200 or less and doing all that exercise? You need to fuel your body...right now it's backfiring on you because you're starving it, not fueling it. You need to calculate how much you are burning through exercise and eat some of those calories in addition to the 1,200 minimum…

Been here 5 months but still have about 10 lbs or so to go. I'm 48; love to say I've always been thin but that's just not true, in fact quite the opposite having struggled with a few extra pounds most of my life that became 10 then 20 then 30 until all of a sudden I weighed more than I ever weighed pregnant. So, I'm…
