I love it! I met Colin Ferguson at a con a few weeks ago. My hubby stopped watching it after the time travel storyline (and usually I'm the one who hates time travel).

I'm 5'10" and 273 lb. I started at 340 lb. and had Lap band surgery. It's still far, far from easy. I haven't been thin since high school and don't remember what it's like.

Our cats are Anubis and Hathor, from Stargate. Our dog is Saxon, from Hot Fuzz.

I'm going to Dallas Comic Con too! The hubby and I have tickets for autographs. I wonder how much the photo ops will be... I wonder if I can bring some twine.

I'd probably think to say that AFTER she left! Good on you. I've done two 5Ks so far, and my time is really depressing. But I pushed myself really hard (maybe too hard) and succeeded in doing something I had never done before. It's hard not being able to jog as fast as my husband or as fast as I feel I should. I try to…

Great work! 5Ks are wonderful inspiration. I personally work best when I have a specific goal in mind.

I lost absolutely nothing on the supervised diet. If I could lose weight that way, I wouldn't need surgery. The main benefit of the LapBand for me is that I can't regain the weight. It helps with the hunger to a certain extent, but really, I still get very hungry, I can still eat a lot, and I still crave bad foods if I…

I've always hated exercise. Hated. I could barely walk 15 minutes when I started. I've lost 80 pounds and still have 100 to lose, but I can jog for 20 minutes straight now and can walk/jog 3.4 miles fairly easily. I can keep up with my 5-year-old. I feel strong and don't have to worry that I'll poop out before the rest of…

I want to walk into a store for normal-size people and buy a pretty, sexy dress and high heels.

I've lost 80 pounds and have 100 left to go. About 30 pounds ago, I decided to exercise. I could barely walk 15 minutes, but that's what I started with. I worked up to walking for an hour, and then I started Couch to 5K. I haven't finished it yet, but I can jog for 20 minutes. I'm 42 years old, and this is the most…

I had my son when I was almost 39, and I was 150 pounds overweight. I was miserable. I couldn't crawl around on the floor with him, and the physical strain was pretty rough on my body. He preferred my husband and my mom over me because they could actually do things with him. I decided to have LapBand surgery so I could…

Do a search for the group MFP Gamers. :)

My husband had bad leg pain too. We got him some compression sleeves, and he started running much slower (like I do). Whether it was that or more rest days or just building up to it, his pain has gone away.

Mmm, chips and pasta! I can't do carbs much either because they make me so hungry. Try a small amount of sunflower seeds or nuts. I also like pork rinds -- very chip-like (I'm in the camp that says fat and protein are better for you than carbs).

Onions. My life would be so much easier.

I found out that Wil Wheaton is going to be at Comic Con in Austin. Woot! My husband will just have to deal with me bouncing off the walls.

The best thing to do when you make a mistake like tripping is laugh at yourself. That way anyone is laughing with you, right? I'm not much for gyms, but this fat girl does go jogging. No one's been unpleasant to me, and really, I doubt anyone cares. Anyone who judges a person for being human -- that says something about…

Awesome! I weigh around 260 and did my second 5K this past weekend. I was rather down about my slow time (51 minutes) and the back and hip pain that developed later in the day. I need to just celebrate that I'm walking and jogging, not worry about my time, but my spirit is outpacing my body. :)
-
55, which is odd because I'm 100 pounds overweight.

I did my second 5K Saturday at 51 minutes, and it was as fast as I could possibly go. I'm 100 pounds overweight, and I stilled jogged a lot of it. Go me.

I did a 5K Saturday and jogged as much as I could. It took me 51 minutes, and while I was very low in the rankings, it was the fastest I had ever done 5K. I felt OK during the run, but later in the day (it was at SeaWorld, and we walked around the park afterward), I got some serious hip and back pain. I was pretty…

I tried watching True Blood because I like the books, but I hated the drug references. I stopped watching it because it was just ridiculous. I also hated Battlestar Galactica. I didn't want to watch it originally because it was ripping off my childhood, but my husband gave it a try, and neither of us liked it. I also don't…

I like Nalini Singh's characters. Who doesn't want to be a kick-@ss shapeshifter or a kick-@ss angel? Stacia Kane's Chess is pretty cool too. Only that author could make me like a druggie. Gail Carriger also does kick-@ss well, even while being a lady.

Here it is! :)

I'm 5'10", and I think I was around 265. I'm at 258 right now. I'm working on week 4. Week 4 is the first time I've not been able to complete a day, but I worked on it and can now do it. I'll repeat this week til I'm ready for week 5, which I hear will be killer.

The last thing I would remove from my diet would be meat. It's not high in calories, and your body really needs it. Cut the carbs if you need to cut somewhere.

I think people think it's drastic and a cheat. Well, I know from experience that it's just a tool, and you still have to work really hard to lose the weight. Is it drastic? Yes, but nothing else worked for me. I had the LapBand when I was 40. How long was I supposed to keep trying the same thing and failing? I wanted my…

I may up my carbs to 75 for now. I went to the park today with my son and had no energy to do anything. It's really bad. I think cold turkey may be too much for me.

Congrats! Susan is right. You don't want to have to deal with caffeine withdrawal while you're recovering from surgery.
