  • Hi all! I'm Edie. My husband and I moved to Louisville last spring due to him working for the 20/20 Eyecare Optometry practice. He used to work for Fishers Eye Care in Indianapolis, and I worked for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis. Now I work for Tri-Arrows Aluminum (what an interesting industry change this has…
  • I think I just found my food hero! This is so similar to what we eat, but I never thought about bringing a measuring spoon, scale, etc. to work. Do your co-workers ever give you a hard time for taking up all the fridge space? Luckily we have two fridges at work, but they do fill up pretty quickly during the week. Love your…
  • Thanks for sharing. I'm not a new user, but was just searching the forums for something I could share with a friend of mine who is a new user and then -wow - this post! So handy! P.S. Also, I use bacronyms for everything, but now I know there's a legit name for that...
  • Congratulations all! I am seriously excited to start lifting again soon! All my losses have been through diet and cardio with a little machine work, but since November 2012 I injured myself and I've only been maintaining and using IPOARM. I'm so antsy to start working out again and to try free weights! Stupid injuries...
  • Thanks for the laugh!
  • Before my injuries, I was using the Polar FT60. I LOVE it and would highly recommend. I especially liked how at the end of the week, I would get a trophy from the watch if I met my goals. Sometimes, it's the little things...
  • ^^ What she said! I was going to recommend wall push-ups too!
  • Way to go! I used to eat at 1200 cal too before some of my more experienced MFP friends showed me a different way. I mean, everyone's body is different, so ultimately you have to do what works for you, but here's what I've done: Highest weight 140 - June 2011 Current weight 120 - November 2012 through today. I was…
  • I'm 30, turning 31 this year. Please add me if you'd like. I've been at this for about a year and lost around 20 lbs! I'd like to lose 5 more, but right now I'm just trying to maintain because I can't exercise (shoulder injury) and probably need surgery. Anyway, good luck to you!!! Happy to share any advice if you want any!
  • I like the idea of getting $2 "proxy" rings! Good thought! What's weird. My wedding ring still fits, but is just a little looser. It's a size 3-1/2 (I've always had small fingers). But on my right hand, I used to wear a size 5 on my pointer and middle finger and now I can only wear a 4 on my pointer and middle!…
  • Great job!! :drinker: And don't sell yourself short, 47 lbs is a big deal! I bet you've had good improvements in body fat % too!!
  • Yikes! That's not fun! Sorry! What kind of foods do you eat? Also, how long ago did you start your new diet? Sometimes the body just needs time to adjust. Easiest answer - go to any drug store or grocery store and by an OTC stool softener. I'd at least try that before going to the doctor.
  • My husband is always sending me Wilford memes - big joke for us. Here's one of my favorites!
  • Hi there. I have quite the history with the AC joint. Are you prepared to read a book??? Hope so! DISCLAIMER, I'm not a doctor, so take all my advice with a grain of salt. I'm just talking about my own experiences and my own suggestions. There's a lot of information on the internet that you might find helpful as well. In…
  • So are you regretting your offer to email the spreadsheet yet? Anyway, I would LOVE a copy as well! Total noob here. My book is due to arrive in the mail on Thursday, but I'm going to start ASAP and I'm guessing that will help! <email removed by allabtlm>
  • I'm 5'2", currently 120lbs. I typically eat in the 1350-1500 calorie range. I've also been unable to exercise for a few months due to injury, but have successfully lost 20 lbs (10 of which was after I stopped working out). I would be happy to share diet suggestions with you. If you'd like to send me a personal message or…
  • I'm also curious to hear what others would suggest.
  • I posted on here before. Didn't have before and after pics but I finally have one. See my profile photo. Still not sure how to post photos on messages. My stats: 30 years old Height: 5'2.5 SW before MFP: 140 *All of 2011 SW on MFP: 137 *April 2012 GW #1: 125 *achieved October 2012 CW: 120 GW #2: 115 *No rush. What I really…
  • I'm travelling to my sister's for Thanksgiving. I completely failed to mention my new "diet" to her (low/no processed foods, no dairy - except butter, or gluten). I called her last night and she sounded upset. She'd already done the grocery shopping and planned out most of the meals for the week. I don't want to be a bad…
  • Thanks to you and others for clarifying! And congrats to the original poster for the great NSV :) (now that I know what that means!)
  • Good question! I planned to enjoy Thanksgiving, but am going to try to stick to the healthier food options. I will definitely up my exercise too as long as my knees and shoulder cooperate! I was never big into Christmas cookies, so I will avoid those. Pumpkin pie - I'll will enjoy, just not the crust.
  • LOL - I just tried this and ended up with a bruised knee. Forgot about that stupid under mounted desk-drawer that I never use! Oops! :)
  • Stupid question, but what does NSV stand for? Great job for hanging in there!
  • I'm 5'2". Before marriage, I weighed 110 pounds. After three only years (and I don't even have kids as an excuse) I weighed 137-140 depending on the day. My cholesterol was up and I have a history diabetes in my family. I was quickly at risk! That was when I decided to change the way that I ate (no processed foods) and…
  • Dizziness can be caused by low blood pressure, which can be caused by excessive exercising or dehydration. There are other causes as well, but if you're a healthy person, those are the typical causes. Are you drinking enough water during your workouts? Are you working out more than normal? Do you have any other symptoms?…
  • Have you also noticed your skin and nails being dry or brittle? Chipped or broken nails? You could have a protein deficiency. Be sure to eat plenty of proteins. You may also have anemia. Iron deficiency can cause hair loss. Eat your leafy green veggies and red meats! I've also experienced hair loss as well and do try to…
  • Don't get discouraged! Muscle weighs more than fat, so if you have been eating well and going to the gym, you are most likely strengthening your muscles and losing fat! I bet if you measured your body fat percentage when you started working out vs. right now, it would be lower. For me, I saw similar results. I started…
