"NSV" means "non scale victory". Something that you've earned from all your hard work other than a number on the scale :)

I love this one! Well, I love all of them, but this one definitely tugged my heartstrings.

Just a reminder that you can still have fun and do amazing things before you're "perfect" :)
-
Woohoo!!! And how awesome that instead of just saying "I quit" because something embarrassing happened, you took a deep breath, looked your problem square in the eye and handled it.
-
Yes! And it's absolutely my preference!

Yay, roll over! <happy snoopy dance>

Ok, I know everyone has said this...but I. Love. This. Thread. Thank you all so much for sharing!!!

I love your response! I just...wow.

Went to Panera Bread for lunch and they had *the most amazing looking cupcake ever* sitting behind the counter. Food. Porn. So, I treated myself. Because one cupcake isn't going to completely unravel my hard work for the week. Then I logged the cupcake....and it was almost as many calories as my lunch! :noway: Here's where…

I get what you're saying, but it's also not completely wrong to lay a certain amount of blame at the feet of parents for how their children grow up. People don't just happen, they are, for the most part, raised a certain way. So while some parents do hold their children accountable for things in life (grades, hard work,…

I will say that I do think a lot of Gen Y and Millenials are entitled. But, as someone else pointed out, who allowed them to become that way? That has always been my beef when an older generation criticizes a younger generation...well, you raised that generation, so maybe it's time to do a little self-examination? Also, I…

I'll take whatever help I can get. My point is, the job market is beyond "kinda lousy" right now. It's horrendous, more so in certain areas. Before this, I was in the same exact position as you: Never didn't get an interview for a job I applied for, and never didn't get a job I interviewed for. I have a solid work history…

I've considered getting my resume done professionally, but right now it's not really an option. And I seriously doubt my "crappy resume" is keeping me from getting minimum wage, low-skill jobs like, say, cashier at Wal-Mart. I know how to job search, I've been in the work force for 10 years. I don't apply for jobs that I'm…

I suppose I'd be a GYPSY, but I have no expectation of entering the workforce at any particular salary. The fact of the matter is, I've applied for jobs well below (minimum wage) and slightly above what I "think" I'm worth and....nothing. Two years of nothing. The job market is well beyond "kinda lousy".

I haven't finished reading yet, but I have to say....the diagrams are just cracking my **** up

Ok I am having serious issues with quotes tonight!!! >.<

The towel not being wrapped around allows things to air dry. [/quote] I get that but....maybe I'm just a prude
-
If you're going to sit on it, why not just have it wrapped around? I understand the sweaty thing, but I've never thought having a towel wrapped around me was that suffocating lol
-
I'd love that information!

Personally, I would have at least had underwear on because a) I'm pretty self conscious and b) Ummmm ewwww, what if everyone was just sitting on everything naked and....ewwww.

Been trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my cottage cheese!! Thinking I'll try these in the morning!

29 as of this October, lost about 70 so far with another 100 to go! Feel free to add as a friend :) :) :)

That is oddly mesmerizing. I could watch that for hours

I have a very, very vague "final goal" set. Like you said, I have no idea how I'll look 50 pounds down the road, so how do I know how I'll look 100 pounds down the road?? Short term goals also have the benefit of giving you encouragement as you go. I have a few friends on here who have mini-goals (first 10, second 10,…

The reasons probably vary from person to person. I think a big part of the problem may be how women's clothes are sized. A lot of women get so attached to one number, that it doesn't matter if it fits right or looks good, as long as it's the right number. My sister is like that. She has one size that she considers "her…

Nope, I was spot on as well. I prefer to think it means we're just realistic about how we look :flowerforyou:

I'm beginning to think that this is a law of the universe

So when I first read the title of this thread I was like "100 pounds??? Holy hell girl, are you crazy?! YES you've accomplished something!!!" And then I remembered...I'm the same way. I've lost 70ish pounds and I have days where I feel like I've done absolutely nothing. So yup, I know exactly how you feel. One of the…

Think this is going on the menu for the week. Thanks!
