Doing this since May, just watching what I eat and getting a workout in roughly 3 times a week. But in thinking about it, for the first few months I didn't really work out any more than before I started here, so I think my biggest problem was what I was eating. Once I got in to the flow of eating right and logging it all…

I'm definitely NOT 22 years old... but I started at 183lbs and just reached my goal of 150lbs a few days ago.

Nice candles! My mom is a Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma survivor.

I'm a sports photographer, and I shoot high school football, and hopefully some University of Rhode Island games this season. Going to be footballed-out by December... lol...

Feel free to add me too... I need friends.. :)

Awareness is certainly the key, it was for me. And the great thing is that when people ask me how I lost weight, I say "choices", and explain to them about being aware of what is in the food they eat. 9 times out of 10 I get a gasp... :)

Super awesome! Great job!

How about something I've discovered, and maybe you have too: Thinking about what to order when eating out, sort-of like a "Eat This, Not That" kind of thing. Like when I first started MFP, I almost dropped when I found out that a simple hamburger was an average of about 1,400 calories and about 75 grams of fat, but eating…

And here I was thinking I was the only one that listens to hard rock and all that while working out. Disturbed, Slipknot, Metallica (pre-Black Album, etc...), In Flames...

I want to be as fit as I was when I was 18 years old, which was a LONG time ago... :) I feel that I am there now, but my other goal is to be more healthy for my 5-year-old son. With losing weight I can keep up with him a lot better, since he LOVES to run. I also HATED to look at myself in the mirror, or even hated to not…

Feel free to add me... been logging since May, I think 155 days in a row, or something like that...

I have been running halfs since 2006, and have done about 9 so far. But this past August was my first one after dropping weight, and was the first one that I ran all the way! It was pretty awesome... an achievement I think I probably wouldn't have done if I didn't loose weight. I was running at anywhere between 180-200lbs,…

I like that I had to buy a belt to keep my pants/shorts up... :)

Diet Pepsi is the ONLY vice I can't kick since I started this back in May. I have maybe 1 or 2 a day, but for some reason I can't not go without it. I know there are worse things to not let go of, and I'm trying.

I was going to actually post something like this, but saw this thread. Unfortunately, I have 2 people, both very close family. They both have been trying for years to loose weight, and I never really tried. So I've been doing this since May 2012 and finally reached my goal a few days ago. But it seems like the jealousy is…

I use Nike+, been using it for the past 3 years now. I think I read somewhere that the one factor that helps in counting burned calories is that if you can enter your weight in on the settings, so it knows that. I could be wrong though. But what I do when I enter cardio (running) is put the time in, then modify the calorie…

Congrats on quitting smoking! I second the sugar free gum. All that sugar will catch up with you sooner or later. My one vice I am trying to kick is Diet Pepsi. My mind keeps saying that it's not so bad because it's diet, but I know it's not much better than regular soda.

Ever since starting MFP I've checked calorie/fat counts EVERYWHERE, or at least when it's online. It is AMAZING knowing how much I was eating without knowing it. I would get a regular burger at Chili's, with just lettuce, and the fries, and the burger itself is about 1300 calories!!! I was floored! So now I have a steak,…

You can add me as well, if you'd like...

Not sure what my number is, but what stinks for me is that most of the time I get to bed late, sometimes after midnight, and I forget to close out my diary before midnight. So if I do it after that, for some reason it doesn't give me credit for the day. I use the iPhone app 99.9% of the time, and there hasn't been a day…

You became an athlete the first day you ran. Just because you don't race often doesn't mean you are NOT an athlete. I've done about 9-10 half marathons since January 2006, and the first time I actually ran the whole thing was 2 weeks ago when I did the Providence Rock N' Roll Half Marathon. Believe in yourself, the rest…

My wife started running before I did, sometime in 2005. I picked it up a bit after she did, and my first race was the 2006 Disney Half Marathon, and what pushed me was running for my father-in-law, who passed away of a massive heart attack on Christmas Eve 2005. So I credit him with getting me through my first race. Since…
