  • You are so cute!!! And, you look wonderful. (don't you love being able to tuck in your shirt for a change?) Great job, Patti!
  • This one REALLY hit home for me today. I am at the point in my wellness journey where I always fall off the wagon. The good habits that I will have had for 5 or 6 months...with little effort....go completely out the window. I am skinny now and I can start binging again! It inevitably becomes an intractable habit and within…
  • I have been wearing my fitbit every day since April of this year. Since I have a sedentary desk job, I find that the only way I can get in my 10,000 steps is as follows: weekdays: 2 1/2 mile dog walk every morning and 2 miles in the evening. If I know I won't be able to do one of my walks because of inclement weather, I…
  • Nothing makes me want something more than being told I can't have it, lol. I haven't had bacon in months, but after reading about the shortage...guess what I had for breakfast? ;)
  • I am going to steal this phrase. LOL!
  • I am at goal weight...have been for two months...started at 1200 cal/day and now up to 1570. But, like you, I exercise every day (can totally relate to the teeth brushing analogy) and I end up eating about 1850 cal/day. I don't eat "dieting" food anymore (e.g. only salads/yogurts for lunch) but I do make sure I keep one…
  • Considering the similarities of OUR profile pictures, I bet you can guess my answer, lol.
  • **sniff** thanks for the perspective we all need to have, no matter what our circumstances.
  • Too funny! I had no idea about the CRTC thing. That explains sooo much about the radio play during my big Nova Scotia road trip last month!
  • You made my day, Scott!! When I didn't see an entry from you yesterday, I got a little worried, lol. So many of us here are rejoicing in your successes and empathizing with your challenges. Thanks again for sharing your journey with us!
  • Sounds like an awesome kid! Seems he learned something about perseverance from his dad...or was it the other way around? ;)
  • Golden Retriever, of course ;)
  • I love walking so much...I could walk 5-7 miles a day 7 days/wk. BUT...I've thrown light weight-training into the mix 3 days/wk. Let me tell you, when I skip those days, I really feel a difference! Overall, I feel the walking keeps me slim but the lifting keeps me trim and STRONG!
  • I started using a Fitbit one week after starting MFP. It has been fantastic. I love that I don't have to log my walks and I only log my food at MFP...they sync! At first I was concerned that it was giving me too many exercise calories...but I eat almost all of those calories back and I am still losing weight. I couldn't be…
  • I have to agree with lauralind. I would say that half of my walking friends experience this at some point in time. My husband has had it in the past and it kept him from walking for 6 months! Dont wait for it to go away on it's own. Google it, as there are lots of things to do. The tennis ball is good, as is wearing a…
  • I love this! Tomorrow I take a stand up paddleboarding lesson. I am sure I will be quite a sight as well!
  • You hit the nail on the head!!!
  • I agree with the "now the hard part". I, too, only had 15 lbs to lose. Been there and done that many times over. I will feel like a true success once I have been able to keep THIS 15 lbs off for more than a year! Maybe this time I will be able to do it because of some new insights (like you, I am in my late 40's and really…
  • Same here....have been eating back as many exercise calories (I am on maintenance for one month now) and am still losing about .5 lbs a week.
  • I spent all week doing this, lol! This was after the fitbit told me I walked 50 miles in one week...I knew something had to be wrong.I couldn't find a place where it said what the "default" stride was so I just went to the old H.S. track behind my house for three nights in a row and, using the timer on the FitBit, timed a…
  • That sounds amazing! Just wondering if there is a low cal alternative for the cheese because I am not a big fan of processed cheese. I will give it a try, regardless. Thanks!
  • Good for you!! I just started yesterday...and after almost one year of not stepping on a scale...I just laughed! I am too excited to start this journey. I hope I don't lose the fire!
