That is one reason. It is much more convenient to section a women at 10an, scheduled, than to come in at 3am to do a section on a planned c/s that has gone into labor at that time. Also, many OB's perpetrate the myth that there is a reason that going into labor is dangerous, ie, VBACing women, etc.

Have baby sleep in your room, but mom instinct is heightened after birth, you are unlikely to sleep like you did before. It is normal. Bad moms do drugs, drink and ignore their kids for days, don't feed them, you, I doubt will do these things and will not be a bad mom. I am selfish, why not, I am a person too. My sleep is…

ACOG has redone and now reaffirmed their stance, along w/ the March of Dimes that no baby should be sectioned before 39 weeks. There have been too many babies taken so early or earlier thinking they are a certain gestation, only to find their were earlier gestation or babies at term, 37 + weeks that are term, but are…

Gooky/congested sounding babies is normal, nothing to worry about. Some would say you could eliminate dairy in your diet, but that is only a hunch. If baby is fine, not unhappy otherwise etc I wouldn't do a thing. Sometimes we think an issue is one, isn't really one. All three of you are brilliant, exclusively…

Their accents are different than here for sure. Although, they said we had accents! I don't think we do, LOL.

We rarely see our ped, in fact Finnian has never been to see any dr at all, I don't think Eiley has seen her either. We do not vax and almost never use antibiotics. I don't do well baby or child visits. I treat most illnesses w/ herbs or elderberry if it is warranted. I do not look to a ped to give parenting advice, sleep…

I used to be a Navy wife, dh was in when we married and he got out after we had been married for three years, when our twins were 1y/o. We were facing a 6 month tour and we did not want to be separated and raise the girls by myself. I had been thinking May 30th for a while, but did not realize it was Memorial Day. I don't…

I know! Several of mine have been born at 37 and 38 the rest by 39, so it will be soon. I am thinking the very end of this month. I am getting quite excited. My friends planned a baby shower for next Wednesday. It will be fun to eat and just talk. My dd, Anniston will be making the cake, a very dark devil's food w/…

I have been pregnant 10 times, this is my 10th pregnancy, 11 baby and it never works out just as you desire w/ weight gain b/c each pregnancy is very individual. Your gain is baby, fluid, blood, placenta, and fat reserves to nurse your baby, not just your baby. I would have liked to have gained under 30lbs this pregnancy,…

LOL, ITA. We are not children, this you cannot gain anymore or only a certain amount, etc, is total bs.

I have done the same w/ my last three, worked wonders.

Not much here ladies. We were busy this weekend w/ my middles ballet dance recital. Also a birthday party Sunday of a friend. It was supposed to be in the mountains at a park close to our house, but we had a bunch of snow so it was moved to their house. Snow is mostly gone now and just muddy. I did not get a lot of…

It will be just fine. Here are a few links. I will also ask around. http://ohiomidwives.net/ http://cfmidwifery.org/states/states.aspx?ST=OH Found a name, but not knowing geography of Ohio I don't know if they are nearer to you or not. Many women have used midwives 2+ hours away. Another option is a traveling midwife. Do…

Amanda I know end of pregnancy can be a very emotional time, but it is also a very special time. These are the last few days you will have just to yourself and the last few days you and dh will be alone. Cherish this time. I have said it before, but start a new project, sleep in, watch a bunch of movies, go out to a…

Holy crap! I know each couple has a unique relationship, but no f'ing way would this be acceptable to me and in all honestly it shouldn't be for you either. Time for some tough dh love IMO.

Ahhh, hugs. What state do you live in? I can try to help. I switched midwives w/ my third at 28 weeks and then again at 32 weeks. I switched again w/ my fourth at 16 weeks, 20 weeks when we moved.

Today we have a small circus coming to town. It is being held to raise money for the food bank we volunteer every month for. The woman who runs it gave my whole family free tickets so we are going. My kids are excited. I walked yesterday, it seems that is going to be my main exercise until the baby arrives. I need to be…

Not much time to reply. One of my children has a dentist appt this morning and I have to pick up frames for another. I need to stat math in a minute. Exercise was not great this past week. I used to work out 5 days a week at least. I waffle between accepting I need to slow down and listen to my pregnant body and my old…

You sound positive. Hang in there, each day brings you closer to your sweet baby.

Yesterday was not a good day. I can really relate to the emotional stuff b/c I am right there. It is hard. I took the kids to a kids safety fair this morning. Lots of goodies and three of my children received new bike helmets. The guy at the booth also showed us a robot baby and how little shaking a baby can affect a…
