  • I never rinse diapers, only dump solid if there is a solid piece. Otherwise it all goes into the pail and then run a rinse cycle before washing.
  • Virtually all toddlers will figure out how to get out of their diaper and/or clothing! It will happen. I diaper pin the velcro tabs on my covers if they are a proven escape artist. Snaps are just as easy to remove. If you fold back the velcro tabs on the spots to hold them in the wash it isn't a big deal, but it isn't a…
  • I would really like to sue cloth but I haven't researched or know very much about them. I need to start looking at that. Any opinions/advice are welcome! [/quote] Ask me any questions you have.
  • I have always used cloth. My preference is velcro covers, usually Bummis or Thirsties and prefolds or flats. I have had a few 9lb and 10lber and small fit for a long time. A few of mine needed preemie though. You just never know. I like Thirsties and Bummis b/c they have wide size range and fit well. The smalls fit…
  • Not every drop down side crib has been recalled, but drop down side cribs are no longer being made. I am getting rid of ours, that Eiley is in. Finnian is in a portable crib. I prefer those b/c they are smaller. I think I will just put Eiley on her crib mattress, in a few months, next to Ellery in the night and slide it…
  • Mama a coke is ok. I am not big on drinking caffeine, but if that helps your headache and gets you some hydration, who gives a crap what your OB says. You aren't smoking dope, LOL. You are an intelligent mama, do you really think a coke will harm you or the baby?
  • Have you tried sparkling water, sprite, coke, juice, tea, any liquid is better than none.
  • Good heavens, you poor thing! I pray you have a swift recovery.
  • Only once did I regret working out. Good job!
  • I just love that! When Ellery was a baby, I was not yet expecting again, I heard the name Inish on an Irish travel show, in reference to Inish Isle. I knew that moment that we would have an Innish, a boy. Our next baby was in fact a boy and is named Innish.
  • Generally if I feel crummy pregnancy wise I suck it up and might go a little easier. If I am ill like this week, upper respiratory I didn't exercise Monday and Tuesday and did vinyasa yoga today, intense, but not like hard, cardio dvd.
  • We have a list of names, but nothing decided. Not sure if a name will come from the list or somewhere else. I always know the name when I feel instinctively that this is the right one. I just wait for that feeling to come. It may come from a name on our list or I may just stumbled across a word that is just right for the…
  • I am so sorry. I have had back pain this week, related to a flu thing we have. I was the last to get it.
  • Do you like the midwife? Have you thought of continuing care w/ her only if you like her? It is common to not have whom you saw often in pregnancy, if you are seeing OB and often as well if you are seeing hospital based midwives to catch your baby. Remember YOU alone deliver your baby, you do a tremendous job doing it. It…
  • No U/S, and not finding out if I had one. I am just waiting for my intuition to kick in and tell me what sex baby is :)
  • It is a dark area where the placenta is. It is a pool of blood, very common and entirely normal. It used to be thought they were due to poor placenta function, but now it is commonly understand that many if not all placentas at some point have an appearance. It is odd that they even mentioned it and more odd that they are…
  • We don't do gifts for anyone except MIL, FIL and my mom and dad and my brother, simple homemade and only at Christmas. I never expected, this is just how we are as friends, wanting to honor new babies, whether it is 3rd or 11th. One of my friends had her 11th last year. I have two close friends amongst a circle of the four…
  • I think each new life should be celebrated. I don't think there is anything wrong w/ multiple showers or showers for subsequent babies. I had a traditional shower w/ my first pregnancy, our twins at 20ish weeks. I have had different things done w/ many of the rest. Some I had a meal shower, w/ many frozen meals to put in…
  • You were lucky to have a mom like that. I don't want my mom b/c she is not helpful or nurturing.
  • W/ my first HB my mom and brother were there. It was ok, but w/ the rest it was just me and dh usually, but a few times some of my children were present. Generally the only people invited to the birth are the people present at conception, LOL. My dh loves to be there, but hates to see me in discomfort.
  • We got a sprinkling of snow, but we have school regardless, LOL. I had some kind of chest cold thing. All this sickness now feels never ending.
  • I am glad you are feeling better! I am expecting and am 37. Many of my friends are now in their late 30's and 40's and most of them had babies into their 40's. I had a miscarriage before my ninth. I conceived my 9th 2 weeks after the miscarriage. It is standard to say wait, but it depends more on how YOU feel and where you…
  • I am finding that at Gap, loving their maternity jeans right now. I am in a 12. I am more a 14, but these are tight and let me know I if I have over done it. I have been scouring baby/mama resale shops for them. I just scored a $50 Gap gift card through mypoints and redeeming that now.
  • Ok, tell me how long you have been TTC, how many cycles you have charted and all about your cycles. Length, luteal phase length, temps, mucous.
  • We finally have a signed, accepted offer Friday. We have been working on moving and buying a house since last May. On our third house, second round w/ this house. Praying like crazy this all comes through. We have a horse, milking cow, two calves, two pigs, milking goat, and many chickens as livestock. We also have three…
  • Are you charting your cycle?
  • I recall the extreme excitement of my first pregnancy. I think I had happy butterflies the whole time. I wish I had taken a pic of myself every week from the beginning. I would have loved to look back at them. I wish I had not got all the baby stuff together by 5 months, LOL. I wish I had bought mostly used baby things and…
  • I do nothing to reduce a fever. I don't even take temps. A fever is our body's mechanism for fighting the illness and serves a good purpose. I will offer ibuprofen if they are in a lot of pain or cannot sleep, otherwise elderberry syrup, vit d, peppermint tea and lots of love, baths too if they aren't really hot. Never…
  • It is cleaning day here, busy. I have several children ill w/ some kind of flu thing. They are so sick they are just staying in bed, it seems to be our second round of something, since Christmas.
  • It depends, but so do many drugs. It is a preference, another option, especially if out of first trimester. It can cause mild uterine contraxs. It is the only thing that works for my UTI's, antibiotics won't get it all, w/ the UTI symptoms resuming after completion of antibiotics. I have used it under the advice of my…
