  • I've been doing a lot of research into veganism lately because I'm considering become vegan/ a vegetarian who very rarely eats animal products. How are you with your iron and with getting enough protein from varied sources? A mistake that a lot of people make is that they're eating protein-rich foods, but they aren't…
  • -get to bed at a reasonable hour -wake up for class -STAY AWAKE IN EARLY MORNING LECTURES -go to the gym at least four times a week -no more exam-time candy binges
  • I think a lot of the dieting head scratchers I've run across stem from my friends not understanding what they're reading versus problems with the diet itself. For instance, one of my roommates is convinced that smoothies are a health food. While that might be true for some smoothies, it certainly is not true for the…
  • I love aloe, but I've never heard it suggested as a weight loss tool? Supposing you drink the sugar-free kind (blech) instead of the deliciously sweetened 90 calorie/serving kind, I don't see how it would be any different than water. Did they say their reasoning or was it just an "it's like magic!!!" answer?
  • I'm originally from a small city in Ontario, Canada and we have a couple of chocolateries there that make the mint chocolates called "mint smoothies" or simply "minties". The inside of the chocolate is very smooth (almost buttery) and slightly softer than a regular chocolate. So good. There's also a chip (french fries)…
  • Turning 21 in about a week and a half. I'm vegetarian during the academic year and trying to lose about 60lb. Feel free to add me :) I'm always looking for more active friends my age.

  • one can of black beans, one can of chick peas, a diced cucumber, a few diced tomatoes, a couple diced carrots, half a diced red onion, some chopped green onion, 3tbsp of red wine vinegar, 2tbsp agave or honey, and 1 tsp of hot mustard. It's delicious.
  • Good points! I used to work at a summer camp for little kids and melons are a great way to hydrate on hot days. According to wikipedia (not the most reliable source I know...) says that healthy kidneys should be able to process about 4 cups of water per hour. So, by that, you're definitely fine. Most known cases of…
  • Awesome job! You look so much more confident in your last picture than in the first. :)
  • I love tea. I usually have at least 15-20 varieties on hand in my pantry. If you go into a proper tea store they can let you try some of the teas and you can smell them. Generally, a tea will smell pretty close to what it tastes like. If you like stronger tastes and caffeine, I would recommend a strong black tea. Some…
  • What sort of sports have you tried him in and do you know what he doesn't like? Personally, I was a really clumsy and sensitive kid, so I hated group sports since the other kids would get mad at me for missing goals. As an adult however, I've found that I do enjoy individual exercise. Maybe you could start having family…
  • I went over my calorie goal because I had pizza for dinner, but after a long walk, I managed burn off enough calories to counter it :)
  • @styxx : Around mid-forties or early fifties? It's hard to tell since your pic is so small.
  • My current obsessions are Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, and Sherlock. I also love Buffy, Angel, Torchwood, Babylon 5, Firefly, etc.
  • Dijon mustard probably. But which kind? Grainy? Honey dijon? Normal? So many choices!
  • You are awesome.
  • Marigenous is an adjective that means made in or by the sea. It's just one of my favourite words.
  • When it comes to PMS cravings, I will get to the point that I'm an absolute misery if I don't have chocolate. If it's the sugar/fat part of it that you crave, I would suggest just trying to eat healthier sweet things like fruits or low-cal baked goods. Personally though, I think it's more the iron and such that I'm craving…

  • It's great with a bit of cilantro on the side of Indian curries and dals. Yogourt is a traditional condiment. Similarly, use it to make raita. Indian yogourt is different, but I've used Greek before and it's still tasty.
  • I've made vegetarian tacos using TVP before. I'm not sure, but I think this is the recipe I used: http://vegetarian.about.com/od/maindishentreerecipes/r/tvptacos.htm One of my varsity athlete friends adds it to muffins and smoothies for extra protein, but I personally haven't tried that yet. :)
