i understand all of this. however, i often see people using cleaning as part of their calories. to me, that is life and not to be added to your exercise calories. this is just my opinion.

i've never done either (even being a Beachbody coach), but i would say Insanity would be more intense and give you a more ripped look. what are you going for? it is also my understanding that most of the Shred workouts are around 30 min....much less time, so the results would be less.

make sure your reduced calories are good calories. when we start eating lean meats, we tend to eat less red meat, and our iron goes down. look for good quality calories in fresh/frozen fruits and veggies. it really does make a big difference.

you will find many different opinions about this topic. in MY opinion, if you are not working out because it's not the "best" time to work out, then it's a bad time for you. do what works for you, your family, your schedule. some people are able to work out in the morning and get it "over with" so they can get to work and…

two things...the color is a bit strong, but reds do work good for your skin. and red IS the hardest color to keep in your hair when coloring it. you WILL have to do it often. and if your hair is that long, it will cause lots of damage to your hair to do it every 3 weeks or so. changing your color is fun...i used to do it…

thanks for all the comments! we too switched to smaller plates about 2 yrs ago. it does help. i'm curious to see what my parents think about them when they come to visit next week for the first time since we made the switch.

i eat pizza weekly! i altered it to work for me and it apparently works. i take 3 corn tortilla and place them on my Pampered Chef stone. lightly crisp one side, and flip. crisp a bit more. my topping vary according to what i have in the fridge: frozen spinich salsa leftover baked chicken breast raw red peper leftover…

raw veggies like red peppers, cucumbers and baby carrots are easy to take with you, are GREAT for you, and filling. avoid the dips and sauces and enjoy the fresh crunch. you can eat all three of these daily for meals or snacks. you will be healthier and fuller. i personally have several meals/snacks throughout the day.…

i personally don't workout first thing. BUT there are many that do and need to to get it in during a crazy busy day. make sure you are getting to bed early enough to get enough rest when you are getting up earlier. rest IS just as important as healthy eating and moderate exercise. there are lots of workouts that can be…

i love my morning Shakeology. packed with 70 different foods. i blend it up with my coffee, almond milk and pumpkin puree. i save 100 calories a day by removing my sugar in the raw and half and half from my coffee. i then drink it on the go or while dressing/putting on makeup. or boiled eggs work great if you are looking…

starting out small will help. if you only have 10 minutes, you need to make the best of it. there are programs (one on my web site) that are for those like yourself that want to lose but have limited time. it IS possible to lose weight with just ten minutes and healthy choices. i would like to challenge you to 30 days of…

we all have bumps in our road. a month, have you seen your doctor to see what the issue is? make sure you do eat your 1200 calories. have you been losing with this intake during your month off from exercising? it can be done with diet alone, but exercise is much needed for a healthy lifestyle. cheering you on! Jane

i love couscous. we eat long cooking rice too....the stuff that takes 50+ minutes to cook. we tend to eat smashed sweet potatoes with our fish....i add molasses for iron, cinnamon and nutmeg. makes a yummy vitamin packed side.

prayers to you, your family and the medical team.

i do know this....if you restrict your calories to much, your body will go into hibernation mode. if i am going to be eating a "special" food/meal i have two ways to attack it: i do a double workout. the same that i do my finances, save it and pay cash...i Earn Before I Eat. earn that treat. i also allow myself grace. i…

my daily Shakeology. it's got lots of protein, 70+ ingredients....many of those i don't have access to at the local market. variety is the key to great health. typically the chocolate. i have many different recipes...but i think my favorite fall is coffee, pumpkin, and almond milk. DM me if any of you want more info. Jane

add bulky foods to your diet...veggies and low sugar fruits. eat lean meats. limit the high calorie carbs, nuts, proteins and dips/sauces. make sure you have healthy snacks on hand at ALL times. pre-measure 20 baby carrots and 10-15 almonds to take with you when you leave the house. they will keep you going and away from…

make short goals for yourself. say 5 pounds at a time. reward yourself with a non food pleasure. small goals add up to your end goal. focus on your health. shoot for a healthy lifestyle and not necessarily a number on the scales. know your why. why do you want to be smaller/healthier??? add me as a friend...i would love to…

i love my Chiropractor...so i'm not saying go outside of chiropractic care...but have you considered a 2nd opinion? did he suggest what you should do for the month for exercise? if you can't do this program then you need to a gym where you can do cardio and some sculpting for toning for the month. you should be able to get…

i'm in...i will be starting about 1.5 weeks late since i will be on vacation next Monday. i do some walking now and have been workout out regularly for 12 weeks now, so i'm pretty sure i can get this done in the 9 weeks. AWESOME thanks for the invite. team work rocks!!!

i'm with the the other commenter...have you seen a doctor for your annual and a good physical/blood work? ya never know and want to make sure that everything is functioning properly. after seeing, i have a few suggestions: do cardio and strength training. one without the other does not get you to a healthier lifestyle.…

you've got some great advice here! awesome. i would do a few of the workouts with what you have. see if you can borrow a set of resistance bands from a local friend to determine which you like better. then go shopping. keep in mind that WalMart, second hand stores for sporting goods and online coupons are great for…

for me and my body at 150-ish, i need more than 1200 calories. i typically shoot for 1400 per day. which gives me about 200 calories net after my 400 calorie workout burn. as a man with more muscle, i would think you need this much too! i haven't seen your eating, but this is one thing i have seen in even my friends and…

fyi...three years ago i was about 75 pounds over weight. my doctor looked at me and told me my first job was to take care of my temple. yesterday at church when i was volunteering as a greeter, she said hello skinny. me skinny. who knew that could happen when i was so unhappy, pain was every minute of the day, BP was high,…

start with tracking EVERYTHING you eat. measure your food. get a scale if you don't have one. do some kind of movement every day. if you can't do 30 minutes straight. do 4 10 or 15 minute walks. it WILL work. while you are watching tv, do 3 sets of 10-15 reps of bicep curls and arm exercises. (check fitness magazines…
