I did it for a year. Wasn't bad. But I now realize the foolishness of my ways. I'll have good dark chocolate now and then if I want. Still, good luck on your quest! If it gets you feeling great about yourself, then it's worth it.

Well, it started when I got rid of my ex-wife. That was about 109 pounds of pure dead weight. After that, I lost 51 lbs via eating better, cardio and weight lifitng and minimizing crappy days. And now I'm working on 50 more (maybe a little more or less depending how body composition ends up).

I've dropped 50lbs since starting this ride last year. In that time I've paid zero attention to natural sugars in fruit. Instead, I simply cut out sweets. Lately, I've been allowing myself some dark chocolate and minor normal life stuff, but I never count sugar from fruit. I'm just watching sugar from junk stuff.

Watch what you read on the forums. Lots of BS abounds. Most protein shakes are just marketing vehicles. Read the label closely.

Just say no to stuff you don't want. Hummus and veggies is great. I'd hit that. Some parties can really suck. If you're hungry, pick the least damaging stuff and go for it.

Coconut oil *can* boost your metabolism, increase energy and boost your thyroid. Cooking in it is better than cooking in olive oil. But it's not a miracle drug. It's just one piece in the puzzle that is healthy living. And BTW, nothing spot reduces fat.

It's amazing how bodybuilders work their *kitten* off to gain a a little bit of muscle in a month, but someone on a cut trying to lose weight can pop 5lbs of muscle in a weekend. :) Like everyone else said it's usually water. Keep tabs on your measurements and bodyfat %.

Diet is the most important thing, even more so at your weight. Fix that up and then start weight lifting 3x a week (full body). Mix in HIIT cardio 2-4x a week (work up to it). If you're out of shape, start real slow on the HIIT and just progress as you can.

You'll be ok. Just get going soon. Your body isn't on a 24-hour clock so having a terrible weekend isn't the end of the world. Worse thing you can do is give up. Good luck!
