  • Are you measuring yourself too? It isn't a true plateau if you are still losing inches and sometimes the two don't go hand in hand... I like you need to eat 1200 to lose AT ALL (shot metabolism) however increasing resistance and strength training will help with this. Maybe take a few rest days from counting AND exercising.…
  • I think from your photos that some of your problem is posture. I would recommend not worrying about losing any more weight and do some strength and toning work to improve muscle tone and posture. I know a lot of people get great results with lifting so that would be worth a shot NROLFW is supposed to be excellent.
  • Time Management, organisation, planning, planning, planning oh and if you want it enough you WILL do it... Get up earlier to work out, batch cook healthy meals for the week at the weekends and enlist help from the family to meet you goals. JUST DO IT!
  • I occasionally have this happen on a Sunday when I tend to do a long bike ride (road cycling - vigorous effort) and then come home and do a lot of gardening. I eat around 1500 cals but burn around 1700 so end up -200. This is not sustainable on a regular basis though... As long as you feel fine and are eating a healthy…
  • I would say it's better to stick to 1380 and don't eat back your exercise calories and if you stick with it for the 74 days then you are going to be in a much better position than you are now. No one can tell you if 20 lbs is possible with only that to lose but hey even 10 lbs (approx. 1 lb a week) is better than nothing…
  • I would strongly recommend XTFMAX90 by Stephanie Oram, it's much cheaper and 12 rotating workouts designed for women. It is amazing. I lost 18 lbs, and a ton of inches in 90 days...
  • Initially it was to be healthy and a good role model to my two young sons. Now they say they get their sportiness from me!!! I have to admit though that now vanity has played a huge part. I love looking good and being 'checked out' despite my age... Oh and after I lost all my weight 118lbs my hubbie left me for a 'larger'…
  • At the moment EVERYDAY, but then I made a pact that I would do 6 x week for this year and I enjoy it and feel fantastic. I do however mix it up between, weights, strength, circuits, cycling, running and yoga to give certain muscles times for repair and recovery. I also warm up before every session and stretch after.
  • I tended to reward myself every 7 lbs (half stone)... But all non-food related. anything from nail varnish to a new piece of clothing, luxury body lotion or a facial. All things to make me feel good about myself!! I also stashed away £10 for every pound of weight I lost! When I had got to goal I had £1180 to spend on a new…
  • Either plan it into your daily allowance, earn some extra cals through exercise or eat before you go and exercise WILLPOWER!! Your choice depending on how committed you are...
  • I think you have answered your own question! If you aren't weighing certain foods then you cannot be sure your calorie count is accurate. Weigh and measure everything using a digital scale for a couple of weeks - sticking to your 1400 cal goal. If you still haven't lost anything after that then maybe you are like me one of…
  • Allocate as much time as you want to / can to exercise. I try to do a workout of approx. 45 mins per day and a bit more at weekends with addition of a couple of 20+ mile bide rides. I have a job and two boys so it's more about time management than what I would like. I would love to spend all morning every morning in the…
  • Beautiful Buckinghamshire...
  • Had 11 days at our house in the South of France and made good choices with food and exercise, but enjoyed myself whilst we were there and felt fantastic!!
  • I lost 118 lbs six years ago and now maintain. If I can do it anyone can...
  • Swimming, yoga, pilates and body weight toning routines will all help you... Keep a strict log of your calories and you should be able to shed the pounds and tone up. Weight loss is 80% diet so focus on CICO and you will lose weight. Set MFP to lose 1 lb a week and work from there.
  • 47 years old Highest Weight 257 lbs Current Weight 147 lbs Goal Weight 139 lbs I am 5'4"
  • Have a veg snack or low cal veg soup before you go to limit the canapés. Make the best choices you can during the meal and limit your portions. But generally as the above posters have said, one meal won't affect your long term goals. Log it and do some extra exercise on the day and the day after to give yourself some…
  • I don't eat them back as a general rule, but I do 'save' some up for weekend treats, or should I say I eat some of them back on a weekend but never more than 50% of what I earned over the 2 days. During the week I stick to my allotted calorie goal regardless of what I have earned with exercise.
  • Are you eating back ALL your exercise calories. If you are working on MFP estimates it is generally considered that their burn amounts are too high. Try eating you daily goal plus half your exercise cals and see what happens... I am afraid everyone is different and it is just trial and error until you find what works for…
  • You could try counting, I do this when I am swimming, I use music when I am running... It helps me to concentrate on my rhythm and keeps my strokes more even. Maybe it would work with running too, but I find music the best way, even if you keep the volume quite low for security and awareness.
  • Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, you can do level One and work up from there... I have done a few rounds of this and then progressed onto the Extreme Shed and Shred and am now doing an Insanity style programme called XTFMAX90 which is fantastic. Good Luck...
  • 43% from highest to where I am now but when I first hit goal it was 46% which I am aiming to get back to so another 9 lbs to go to UGW!!
  • Apparently obesity rates are in a direct correlation with ownership of washing machines... Statistics can pretty much prove anything given the right variables... I drink diet coke because I like it and it is better than full sugar coke... Now didn't I read somewhere that obesity was also linked to ownership of coffee…
  • The only thing you need to lose weight is to maintain a calorie deficit. Exercise for fitness and no gimmicks... Save your money for a new wardrobe when you hit your target.
  • Welcome. I will be 48 in a couple of months. Lost 118lbs six years ago and now maintaining and trying to improve fitness. Please feel free to add me, I log everyday. Good luck Jules xx
  • Feel free to add me, I'm here everyday trying to maintain and upping my fitness!
  • I think you need to talk to him about how those comments made you feel and ask why he would say things like that... FYI I lost 118lbs six years ago and my now Ex-husband just couldn't cope with the new me. He felt insecure and became paranoid that I was having an affair. None of this was true I just wanted to be fit and…
  • Honestly I think setting these kind of goals can be a recipe for disaster. Your cals and exercise targets are pretty aggressive. I would suggest setting more modest targets and learning new habits for life. There is nothing more demotivating than failing to hit a target - that's when people hit the fridge out of sheer…
  • As Homer would say "From this day forward I will always be hungry again..." I love this quote... I could always eat and often feel 'hungry' I won't die and I know I am eating healthily and that another meal will be coming soon. It isn't the end of the world, I have a drink or a small low cal snack and do something to take…
