RI30 is an updated version of 30DS meant to replace it completely. It ups the intensity just slightly and adds another round (workouts are 4 rounds instead of 3). It was originally developed to completely replace 30DS because 30DS had lower production values and SOME of the moves were very injury prone, but they decided to…

I have no clue what my 1RM is, but back before I switched entirely to home workouts and had a gym membership my working sets for 8-10 was 225. I felt like I could have done more but I didn't feel very steady on my feet.

Slayer or Megadeth. Put those on and the next thing you know, it's happening on its own.

I plan on picking up a few but only super cheapies. I've become a way bigger fan of co-op multiplayer lately and am looking for some new games that fit the mold.

For purely safety reasons I would limit pre-weights cardio. You need to be completely fresh and not already experiencing any fatigue when you start your strength workout to ensure you will be able to perform the exercises with good form and minimize chance for injury. Warming up with some cardio (a few minutes worth) is…

Overweight is a medical designation used to describe anyone higher than the normal/healthy range on the BMI scale. There are people who, due to sheer lean mass, qualify as overweight based on that alone. These people, however, are few and far between. There are a ton of people who think they qualify here but really don't.…

Regardless of your goals, muscle imbalances can contribute to back and joint problems later on in life. You should be training your whole body equally when you start. When you eventually reach a point where you are ready to do cycles of bulking and cutting, THEN you are free to experiment with focusing more on some body…

If you're looking for something that tries very hard to emulate a "true hardcore lifting session" AND is available on video and is primarily focused at women, Cathe is really the only game in town. Everything else more or less that falls under the latter 2 guidelines is nothing more than a cleverly disguised cardio/circuit…

I believe so, yes. Sorry, but glad you picked up on what I meant =) Fixed it in my post.

They're not really "transition" programs. They're completely different programs with completely different goals. ChaLEAN Extreme is very much a weight loss program that's only a small step closer to orthodox lifting programs from Jillian workouts. Body Beast is a true bodybuilding-style split that's focused on muscle…

Essentially that. There is no way to do these types of workouts without either a) access to a gym, or b) converting an entire room of your house into a gym. It's simply not feasible to recreate workouts of this nature with the kind of minimal equipment you've been getting through other home oriented programs with, and that…

Not a bad choice but still has much more of an endurance/circuit focus.
-
Body Beast is exactly that--Bodybuilding/isolation type workouts primarily, in splits.

The problem there is that most heavy lifting programs only have you doing a small handful of exercises per workout (take for example SL 5x5, which only does 3 exercises for an entire workout), and make use of equipment that, for most people, is simply not feasible to have at home (squat rack, bench press, olympic barbell,…

There are a lot of studies that show you get better results working out fastest first thing in the morning, but then there are other studies debunking those studies, etc... It gets confusing. The point is, you won't find any undisputed science saying that there is a definitive time of day that's better to work out. When…

The curve you're referring to on the side from your waist to your thigh is determined entirely by your bone structure and whether or not you have wide hips. If you have narrow hips, it's going to be a straight line. In terms of the dent/definition, that is the result of low body fat + a lot of muscle. It's true that you…

Before you start looking at fitness tips I urge you to look at your posture. Standing with poor posture/slouched stance can make even the fittest, flattest stomach look like a protruding gut. Generally speaking anyone will have one if their posture isn't decent.

Chicken-fried green beans.

I am scared of falling off of it. My old recovery once made me try it and I nearly did.

Statham is a trained martial artist and a balanced athlete. Arnold was one thing and one thing only: Big. Strength counts for a lot, but Statham is certainly no slouch when it comes to strength. He may not be in Arnold's league, but combined with his other athletic attributes AND martial arts skills? I don't think Arnold…

I have mixed feelings on this. On the one hand, you're lying to yourself if you think you can't get better results in less time with access to the kind of equipment you typically see in a gym vs. just a set of dumbbells and a little doorframe mounted pullup bar. Also, you can safely push yourself harder when there are…

I got a membership at PF back when I was new to working out. I got the black card membership (which forces a 2 year contract on you) so that I could bring a buddy with me whenever. I went 2-3x a week consistently for about 4 months before I "outgrew" the maximum weight load on their machines. The lunk alarm went off…

KB snatch. Love it.

Weight loss is achieved entirely through calorie deficit. Cardio helps to create one more effectively than diet management alone as it helps to create one without having to restrict your calories so much. The reason for strength training while losing weight is because it improves functional fitness and preserves the muscle…

The original Power 90 is one of the best beginner focused workout programs out there. They gave it an update and made it into P90 because people got bored easily with the Power 90 workouts since the entire schedule consisted of rotating the same 2 workouts for 45 days, then switching to another 2 slightly more difficult…

Free weights. Heavy ones.

Considering how easy it is to put away massive amounts of pumpkin pie at the dessert table and drown your mashed potatoes and turkey in gravy, I see it being extremely possible. I'm sure I probably do close to that in desserts alone.

I use a good quality protein shake mix and use it straight with water.

If the circuit was of high intensity then no you should not do it 2 days in a row. It's still very demanding on the CNS assuming it's true circuit training and not some watered down version being mass marketed to lemmings, and anything CNS-heavy needs a rest day after.
