The reason people are making that suggestion is because, given your medical issues, you are an outlier. And the advice that would probably help 90% of the people who are in otherwise similar situations might be dangerous for you. The people here are smart enough to know that. They know that you have problems that require…

A base 10 system makes more sense than a system based on random WTFness. And I say that as an American.

Yes, listen to this guy about following your doctor's advice. But not about the macros portion. You shouldn't be monitoring or worrying about macros or anything pertaining to the numbers. By logging the numbers you are succumbing to the psychological mechanic that drives the ED, that sense of restriction & deprivation via…

That calorie amount seems low for someone in recovery. At inpatient clinics they put small, petite girls on 3000+ calorie diets. Additionally, the bigger evil is this: Part of recovery means trying to get away from micromanaging your intake the way you are right now. You may not be doing your BODY harm, but you're still…

I've used both. I have a set of resistance bands ranging to up to 120 lbs of resistance. Most worthless expenditure I've ever made. Utterly useless. Dumbbells all the way. The problem here is that beginners typically see the best results from lower rep sets, and the inherent advantages bands claim to have over free weights…

I recently got back into Mechwarrior Online after taking a 3-4 month hiatus from gaming in general. The game seems to really want to fluctuate between whether it wants to be P2W or not. The current state of game balance doesn't give people who engage in RMT and pay real money any real advantage, other than early access to…

Everyone has a natural body shape. No matter what kind of exercise you do, as long as you are in a calorie deficit, the only thing that you will accomplish is to reveal that natural shape. If you want to go for a more symmetrical or balanced look, your only option is to add muscle mass to the upper body (specifically…

There's no issue with doing cardio, but not all forms of cardio are equal. And you have to be doing cardio that doesn't stress the muscles that are trying to recover from the workout the day before (and Bodypump definitely does).

Heavy is subjective. It's based on rep ranges, not on poundages. If your muscles completely give out on you after only a single digit number of reps, you're lifting heavy. Doesn't matter if that's 2 lbs, 20 lbs, or 200 lbs. When you start with Stronglifts you won't be able to mix it up with BP classes anymore. The program…

It's pretty well understood that whenever anyone says "muscle weighs more than fat" they mean by volume. Obsessing over terminology to the point where you punish people who fail to include that little asterisk does one thing and one thing only: That you have nothing worthwhile to contribute to a forum for people asking for…

I'm not older but there are a lot of exercises I struggle with as a result of problems with basic motor control due to neurological problems. I used to try to modify them but now I substitute completely.

Do you add more reps to increase when you do? And what if the movement itself, regardless of weight, just isn't really happening well?

I successfully did Whole30. Actually almost Whole60, I guess you could say, almost two years ago. I saw positive changes in my body composition and my energy levels increased. However, I became very dizzy/lightheaded, got very frequent headaches, and my already poor motor skills (as a result of neurological sensory…

I think a big part of it is that women generally favor a more social setting (hence group classes) as well as a greater variety in movement (hence more choreography-intensive workout). Strength workouts typically utilize equipment you can't realistically use in a group class setting and consist of relatively few exercises…

The program mainly caters to building functional endurance. Weight loss you see is more a result of the nutritional habits you observe while following the program, and in that regard the results wouldn't be much different regardless of what cardio based exercise program you followed.

World of Warcraft, though I have to admit it's not necessarily because it was bad, more that it was a very far cry from what I was expecting. You have to bear in mind my only prior MMO experience was Ultima Online, so I was expecting something much more sandbox-ish in terms of open world PvP and character development.

There's nothing inherently wrong with liking what you like. However, when what you like is something that is extremely unhealthy, and the person decides they want to actually get healthy, and you don't want that, you should really evaluate what it is about yourself that makes you want that in someone.

I don't have tattoos or piercings for the same reason I don't have pictures of anything, nor posters in my room, nor anything decorative. My personal beliefs don't allow for things that have purely aesthetic--and not functional--purpose.

I stopped going to the gym for this very reason (well, the medical factors were also there lol). The only time I could make it was during gym primetime hours and the equipment I needed was always in use, with such a large concentration of people waiting that "working in" wasn't a possibility. I bought the equipment I…

Body Revolution is not really a strength training program. The format it has you working with doesn't increase your functional strength really, as it's more cardio with weights (high rep low weight doesn't increase strength). I'll wager that doing the same exercises BR has you doing, only working with a MUCH heavier weight…

Body Pump is endurance training. It does not stimulate the muscles in the way strength training does. You won't find anything conducted in a group class setting (possibly with the exception of Crossfit boxes, and even that's iffy) that will really qualify.

The original Star Wars Trilogy Star Trek 2, 3, 4, 6, and First Contact (the others weren't good enough to merit additional views IMO, although the new ones are good) Nightmare on Elm Street 1, 4, and the remake Friday the 13th 5, 7, 8, and the remake Big Trouble in Little China Poltergeist The Sound of Music Peter Pan Hook…

SL was designed around beginners. Anyone who says it's not appropriate for beginners is just.. WTF

Body Beast is a pretty equipment intensive program, and if you go with that equipment selection I mentioned, you'll be using the "low equipment" modifier for most every exercise. If you don't think that affects the results as opposed to working with the more "recommended" equipment selection, you've got another thing…

Ramen Noodle Soup.

The "Ghetto" solution would be to purchase a stability ball, a chinup bar, and a selection of weights ranging from as low as 5 lbs to as high as 30-40, and you will eventually need to step up even from that. The program recommends using more equipment than that, but you can make do with just that (though some exercises…

My mother used IP for a while, went through a two month supply. She ended up stopping using it because the progress she saw was no different from what she saw when using other brands of weight loss shake, such as slim-fast or GNC Total Lean. Eventually she stopped with shakes completely and gained all the weight back and…

My workouts are full body workouts, so I take "active rest" days every other day during the week, where my only real "exercise" comes from things like walking my dogs or helping my nephew practice for his deck hockey league. On the weekends I pretty much lounge around and do nothing.

Magnesium Citrate. For just one evening. Congratulations. Cleansed.

45 minutes a day = Rushfit. Better than pretty much any other DVD based program out there that fits into the same timeframe.
