Where are you getting your info from? the chart is from the world health organization, which bases it these categories on a variety of HEALTH. factors Trainers use a different chart, which nodes not account for age. Think about it, it's how they sell there services. 1) They want to acheive more extreme results so they can…

It still miss the rubber bumpers on that car. I coulld squeeze into a spot on the street with only 8" left over. Stupid body color…

I learned to "keyboard" on a manual typwriter On the very first FAX machine I used. You had to wrap the page you wanted to send around a tube, then dial the phone and attach the receiver to the FAX It took 3 minutes a page and we thought it was magic. I put this skill on my resume. music came on these ...was played on…

One thing I have found helpful in combating misperceptions (both others and my own) has been the good old BMI scale. (While it's not perfect it's a good place to start. And really the only a problem I see is if you're VERY MUSCULAR and your BMI will read higher than healthy... for most of us that's not the issue. If you're…

I never really thought of pizza as "bad" bread, sauce, cheese (okay so the pepperoni may not be ideal) but mostly all foods with nutritional value. We're here to lead a better, happier, healthier life... not a life of utter deprivation. It's really hard to MAINTAIN utter deprivation. Part of life is dealing with social…

When I was 19 I dated a 28 yr old. Once I hit 30 I figured I could go +/-10 yrs. The largest difference was -9 1/2 yrs, but that was more of a fling than a "relationship" The largest difference in a real relationship was -6 1/2 yrs. and the reason that ended had nothing to do with age. I had a friend whose husband was +12…

Developing muscle, muscles are denser than fat so you can weigh the same, but be more compact (losing inches) or You've restricted your calories so much that your body is resistant to let any stored energy go. what matters is if you are doing better now, than you were before. (I'm a big fan of small sustainable changes... rather than changing everything at once pick a few things to improve after a while they become habit. Then change a few more things and so on and so on.) I may not be meeting MFP standards, but... 1) I'm eating…

I have 3 sisters who are naturally rail-thin... I ate the same as them, but was always chunky. It was to the point that Mom kept an eye out to make sure I wasn't sneaking food. (I wasn't) In many ways I was blessed to have a fat Mommy. She understood the weight struggle, but she also said "food is fuel, you can't keep the…

Knowledge is power. Easier to see cause and effect when you're absolutely honest with yourself as to what you're eating. Some people are all about "accountablity" and leave their food diaries open so others can comment on it. Personally, I like to keep my diary private. People here have so many different eating strategies…

In my pre-fat days. I walked into a coffee shop with a co-worker once and she said we looked like Warren Beatty and Annette Bening I think it was the sunglasses that we were wearing.

Congrats on the 73 lbs. May not be as close to your goal as you'd like, but you're doing a heck of a lot better than you were. I was stressing at first, but then I realized I didn't have to be perfect I just have to be better. I've focused on a series of small sustainable changes. Improve one or two things until they are…

As long as you track everything, it doesn't matter what day you track it under. It all comes out in the wash. I've taken to doing 10-day totals so that I check that my overs and unders balance out.

Ha, just saw your response to the person who snuck in before me.... frustrating now when people think you are younger, but it'll come in handy later...
