Don't know what stores are around you. I've seen it in Shop-Rite (my local supermarket) and oddly enough in Christmas Tree Shoppes as well. It does come in a box of small packets, which I find convenient to keep in my desk at work.

I like "True Lemon", "True Lime" or "True Orange" All natural dehydrated juice one packet equals one slice... Also years ago I went to a nutritionist who said 1 (8oz) glass of water for every 25lbs of body weight is fine. So I generally don't stress about intake. (Makes more sense to me than the 8 x 8oz rule. I would think…

They are usually loaded with multiple types of sugar. Both sugar AND artificial sweeteners increase your appetite. (I found if I have a diet soda I can't stay in my calorie range)

My first goal was healthy BMI My next goal was 10 lbs under the top of the healthy BMI range. So I'd have some wiggle room and one bad day/week. Wouldn't be the end of the world. Then I scooted it down another 5 lbs. Then I really really wanted to get to my "pre-accident weight" of 141 (aka what I used to weigh 16 years…

High-Protein-Creamy-Chocolate seems to be the only option with only 2g of sugar all the others that I checked were 18g (which is a big bite out of my 25g daily sugar budget.

I used to drink them when I was free-lancing... Gave up trying to use them as a meal, because I'd be starving again inside 2 hours. For a while I switched to using them as a "tide me over" Turns out they have about 18g of sugar and not only does sugar prevent the absorption of nutrients, (So I wonder what the difference…

8 oz for every 25 lbs body weight. Also recently read an study (from cornell I think) saying it's okay to count coffee as water... Caffiene DOES NOT DEHYDRATE you it just hydrates you marginally less effectively.

First, Before you worry about what you eat worry about being honest If you are not honest with where you are you can't get where you are going. I closed my diary so that others could not see it because I knew I needed to be scrupulously honest with myself. I also knew that the accountability others need would only spur my…

I always say I was blessed with a fat Mommy... I have 3 sister... who were all rail-thin. I was the "chubby" one. My sisters took after my Dad's side of the family. I took after My Mom's side of the family. And my Mom, whose parents separated before she could remember, had been compared to her tiny mother her whole life.…

I can't tell what you are eating, because you use quick calories a lot... but use what ever tracking method works best for you... I know I keep my diary private, because I want to be scrupulously honest with myself and I'm afraid if others are commenting on what I eat I'll be tempted to put perceptions before honesty. And…

Years ago I went to a nutritionist who said 8 oz for every 25 lbs of body weight... So if you weight 300 lbs that's 12 - 8oz glasses If you weight 150 only 6 glasses Hmmm? I'm really bad at hitting numbers consistently so I'd say give yourself a range According to the post above 88oz for a 175 lbs According to my old…

I THINK that it's really about nutrient dense foods... The purpose of eating is to fuel your body, hunger is the signals that your body needs fuel/nutrients. When you eat craap, your body doesn't get the nutrition it needs and you will be hungry much sooner than if you had nutritious food. The more nutrition per calorie…

I started out drinking what my sister calls "baby coffee".. with a ton of skim and an artificial sweetener packet, then switched to... a ton of skim and 1/2 of an artificial sweetener packet, then switched to... a ton of skim and a real sugar packet, then switched to... a ton of skim and 1/2 of a real sugar packet, then…

Amen! after 40+ years of fight the battle of the bulge this was my biggest lesson learned.

Never did get this... spaghetti squash is a yummy vegetable, but it's nothing like real spaghetti. And was I sorely disappointed when I expected it to be the first time I tried it. Took me a while to "accept it for what it is" instead of wanting it to be spaghetti.

Add some : HAPPY FATS to your diet. Plant and fish based fats: they are calorie dense, but it takes a small amount to feel satisfied... Purported to improve brain function, depression, protect your nervous system and reduce the risk of diabetes. Fish has lovely Omega 3s which protect your heart. Avoid hydrogenated fats and…

The good news is you don't have to be perfect, you just have to be better. 1) tracking for a week or two before I worried about losing. (although seeing what I was eating I couldn't help but rein back a bit) be scrupulously honest... you can lie to your friends, you can lie in your diary, you can lie to yourself, but YOUR…

Do they make a soy-free textured vegetable protein?

The good news is you don't have to be perfect, you just have to be better. 1) tracking for a couple of weeks before I worried about losing. (although seeing what I was eating I couldn't help but rein back a bit) 2) seeing where I could make small changes on things that weren't that important to me. (Don't even think of…

I've given up nothing forever, but I DO NOT believe in ALL things in moderation... Some foods are indulgences and should be eaten sparingly, though. ______________ BTW, we get all of our nutrients through 3 groups of food. 1) Carbohydrates 2) Fats 3) Proteins To severely cut back on any one of these categories seems…

As long at it fits into your calorie count it won't be a problem with weight loss. But what is your family's health history? It's high in saturated fats and I've got heart disease running rampant through my family tree. So it's definitely on the eat it sparingly list for me. I did trade down to turkey bacon and eat that…

I didn't really expect to use the forums at all. But found myself on them quite a lot. Reading posts has introduced me to new info and approches I wouldn't have considered before (BTW, always to a little research before accept new info/approaches) I have also found that I AM very opinionated and even if nobody has read my…

WHY, WHY, WHY do people feel the need to "jump start" their weight loss????? 1) Studies show that the slower you lose the longer you keep it off. It doesn't matter how much you lose if you don't keep it off. Pardon my generalizations, but... When you yo-yo diet you usually lose weight, then gain back PLUS more. Then you…

THIS IS NOT THE BIGGEST LOSER (I hate that show, I think it promotes unrealistic expectations and unhealthy timeframe... Okay when I was fat I used to watch see them at their start weights made me feel like I wasn't doing SOOOO bad.) But studies show the more slowly you lose, the more likely you are to keep it off. And I'm…
