I LOL'd. Its a good thing CPS isn't like Animal Control. My brother and my husband would have both been taken to the pound for the number of times they were caught off leash.

My brother was a hider. He hid, he hid stuff. He hid in racks of clothes, he hid intentionally to get a rise out of people, he hid when he didn't want to go home, he hid when he didn't want to leave home, he hid his clothing when he didn't want to wear it, he hid food he didn't want to eat, he hid people's stuff to be…

I like Optimum Nutrition 100% Gold Standard Natural Whey in Chocolate flavor. I mix it with water and ice. My husband swears that chocolate is the best tasting flavor if you're trying to drink it on its own. There is a local smoothie place that mixes Optimum Nutrition or Vega protein into their smoothies though.
-
Protein helps with that

I use Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Natural 100% Whey Protein in Chocolate flavor. Its not cheap but it is delicious. Its 130 calories, 24g of protein, 5g of carb and 1g of fat.

I do not eat back my exercise calories 90% of the time. Unless I am under 1,000 calories. I take medication that has the side effect of eliminating my appetite entirely. You'd think it would be awesome, but its pretty difficult to eat when the thought of eating is underwhelming at best and nothing sounds worth eating. I…

I've lost 20lbs in 3 months ranting about the way that others eat every single day! Oh... wait... I've lost 20lbs in 3 months drinking 1-2 protein shakes every single day. I knew I mixed that up.

Protein powder is fast, easy way to get my protein. I get real tired of eating chicken, fish, cheese, yogurt, etc. Sometimes I rather not eat anything else. I struggle eating enough day-to-day and I also take medication that causes me to have no appetite. I can totally drink a 6oz glass of ice cold chocolate protein to get…

I agree about changing up your diet. I have lost 19.6lbs since April 19th and I've had one plateau that drove me to madness, but my husband has said over and over again that its not a plateau if the scale remains the same for a few weeks or even a month, as others have mentioned - other things can be changing - you could…

I sit on my hands a lot too. When I'm driving or on the couch or at work like right now. I do have nail files at work in my desk too. I need to put a mini one in the car. My husband has one in his car.
-
At the drug store, they sell match-book style nail files from Mrs Manicure or something like that. If you tear your nail, you have to HAVE TO, MUST file it. NO CHEWING. Carry these little files in your purse, fix the roughness IMMEDIATELY. Both my husband and I are furious nail biters and the foul tasting stuff and nail…

I think she should see her doctor about the fact that she can drop a pants size by visiting the restroom... Yikes. She should probably try to be more regular!

Because of the level of condescension that comes along with the commentary provided by others. They don't really need to say what they thought about us before we lost weight, because the attitude and tone of their comments makes it clear that they've waited AGES to tell us what they really thought of us. When you've lost…

I get a lot of people who think I should be capable of things that I am clearly not. Somehow, I am losing weight and feeling better, but they're the foremost expert on what I SHOULD be doing. When it was cold out and I was using the treadmill, my friend said, "yeah, why don't you just crank it up to 8 MPH and bang it out?"…

Right?? "Oh, thats why I suddenly needed a belt for my pants." On the "why do you keep exercising?" topic, I really hate the "what are you trying to do?" question. I feel like really smart people should not have to ask WHY I am losing weight, eating better, exercising more. If I were running or swimming or biking or some…

I couldn't tell you why, because I don't think its true at all. The first guy I was very serious with was 6'8, I dated another guy who was 6'4 but I married the guy who is 5'7. I'm 5'3. I've never once thought, "oh, my husband would be so much hotter if he was another 5 or 9 or 13 inches taller!" We look fine together, our…

I've lost 18 so far and it came off my lower back/upper butt first. Yes, this was welcome, I did a little dance. But I stopped when my pants started to fall off my butt. My husband's best friend noticed it in my face. Then I noticed in my thighs, again - this is a conspiracy against my pants. Then my husband noticed my…

My FitBit says things like, "Walk Me Shannon" and I sometimes have low motivation days that make me think, "I'm neglecting my FitBit" and so I get off my butt to do stuff. My FitBit are my active husband and our active dogs' best friend, because I am far more motivated to go do things because it means something, I have…

I love my FitBit. I took it out on a hike on 4th fo July and logged 33,000 steps and 251 flights of stairs. It was incredibly motivational just getting up the mountain. I am about 900 steps under 10,000 right now, so I am going to walk the dogs rather than sending my husband out (its his turn tonight but I have steps to…

My dietitian is an RD. I have PCOS, which is an endocrine disorder that can include insulin resistance. That means that it is best to keep my carb intake under control. Not low carb, but not Olive Garden Pasta level. PCOS also should be managed on a lower fat diet. Being on higher carbs would be a bad thing since my body…

My dietitian has me a on a 40-40-20 (Carb-Protein-Fat) diet. I changed the MFP settings through the "custom" goals option and its just find for me now!

My husband has run marathons, 50Ks and 50 milers on trail and he has never liked hydration packs or belts. He uses Ultimate Direction handheld bottles. He uses them with 21oz Specialized bottles, if you find the UD mouth pieces too strange (he isn't a fan). For training, he uses plain water or Nuun for anything shorter…

I'm not a fan of eggs, so my breakfasts are usually whey protein, fruit and almonds OR 6oz plain greek yogurt + 6oz fruit juice sweetened yogurt (under 16 grams of sugar) mixed together and almonds.

I don't call my husband Hubby... Of course that would be obnoxious. I call him Bubby. Or Bub, Bubs, Bubba... And to be extra unobnoxious... I incorporate his name with the names of household items, like the microwave is the Michael-wave or Mikey-wave. Or his motorcycle is the Michaelcycle or Mikebike. But for sure, he's my…

I wonder if it is not really how many pounds before people notice, but maybe % of body weight lost. No one said anything and I saw nothing until I had lost 5% of my body weight. Maybe its more likely to be noticeable if you've lost 5-10% of your previous weight?

My husband's best friend was the first person that said I looked different and he knows that I am seeing a dietitian and trying to lose weight. I feel like he doesn't count! But he said specific things - my face, my waist, etc. so I kind of give him credit for not just trying to be nice, but actually meaning it. He pointed…

My husband is the runner, but we went to another country (10 hour drive) for his last marathon. We did stay for 3 days and we took 3 more days after the race to drive back home... A few years ago, we drove 8 hours for a half marathon, which was too far and we agreed that we wouldn't do that again. Next time we'd take our…

About a million years ago, my husband read a magazine article in Cosmo that indicated orgasm was a good cure for cramps, headaches, stress and sadness. Before he'd offer a Tylenol or Advil, he's offering alone time. It works quite well, I admit. I take 24-active day birth control pills (generic Yaz) and usually the cramps…

I would definitely consider trying something like pilates or Zumba to get more varied movement and work the muscles in more dynamic ways than the eliptical or bike offers. I think the way that those two exercises are repetitively using the same muscle groups may contribute to adding muscle bulk in places you want to slim…
