I'm saving up for a HRM. My husband has used one for years. I think that is the best way to measure calories burned. I do find that MFP gives way too many calories burned for exercise. I downloaded the free app Run Keeper, and use it's numbers for calories burned. I also use loseit.com, and Run Keeper and it agree much…

I wonder what people consider to be "healthy crackers". I've seen that term before, but don't know what they are.

Will give this a try as it looks delish!

Yeah!! for you!!! Congrats on your loss and good idea to continue with a supportive community. I'm always hearing about people losing a bunch of weight only to put it back on + more. I think, "why did they stop doing want was working?"
-
I think I'll snag this idea. My DH and I don't have any professional photos for the past 30 years or so. It would be a great gift for my mom and children.

Go for it Emily! If it makes you feel better about yourself, it doesn't matter what anyone else may think (judge you) about you. I'll be you're beautiful just as you are. At the same time, you are choosing a healthy lifestyle, which includes a healthy weight for your unique body. Melva

Judy, I couldn't find you by either name or email. I hope you can find me. Melva I think it may have worked. I found another place to put in the email address. So you may get an invitation from MelvaS or healthymelva@gmail.com.

Hi Judi, I use RunKeeper. I'm a walker and try for 5 days a week. My name is MelvaS and my email is healthymelva@gmail.com Let me know if you can't find me. Melva

That's a great reward! When I quite smoking in 1981, my husband promised to buy me an anniversary ring upon my 5th year of not-smoking. We figured we saved so much money on ciggies that we could afford it. So, now I'm thinking I need a fund for every time I don't go to Starbuck's, buy cookies or candy or .... (fill in the…

I hadn't thought past my first reward, but you guys have some great idea. (except no tatts for me!) When I lose my first 20#, I will buy a HRM that I can use in the pool. I have a tendency to swim too hard, so get over tired and then won't go back due to pain. When I reach my UGW, I want to have my breast rejuvenated.…

Now that's a real treat!

You were always a beautiful woman. Now you're a more fit woman. Way to go and way to inspire me.

Ditto! Ditto! Ditto! I think everyone on the board has said it all. I appreciate your posting. It is just what I need today. Stay fit!

I'm the same way. I'm happy to support you and chat when needed. I read through the post, but rarely comment. Don't have the time. I'm 56 1/2 years old. Started MFP in April and have lost 12 pounds. My favorite exercise at this point in my journey is walking. As I lose weight, I'll start doing more physical exercise.s

Amen! People who spent hours of my research time, then went and booked online (thinking they were saving a few $$), put my travel business out of business. Not to mention the fact that it was a terribly abuse of my time and training.

I lost 0.5 pounds this week, but I'll happily take it! I love it when the scale goes the right way. I started MFP April 19, 2012, and weighed 223.5# Challenge: Week 1 Weight = 214.5 Week 2 Weight = 212.5 Week 3 Weight = 211.5# Total loss since starting the program = 12# Total loss since challenge began = 3#

What is it and why does one use it?

This is very well written and helpful. Even while struggling with my own weight, it is easy to say some of those unhelpful things while thinking that I'm giving support. I like your alternatives. Melva

That IS a great NSV! I haven't worn my rings in 4 years, and I miss them! Take your success and run with it. Melva

Thank you. I've been trying to figure out how to manually change the protein, etc. numbers. This is a big help.

Cool tip.
