It depends on the workout. If I'm dong the 30 Day Shred I'll wear shoes. If I'm doing Pilates then no. When I do Zumba, sometimes I do and sometimes I don't.

I'm doing Insanity 2-4 times a week as of mid July. Prior to that, I did Zumba DVDs 5 days a week and lost 1 lb a week (April to the end of May), then during the month of June, I did the 30 Day Shred. You need to eat healthy, follow the food goals given by MFP, and excersise. Do lots of cardio and strength workouts, I like to alternate days. I'll do Zumba one day, then Insanity, and so forth. The biggest thing though, is eating right.

Zumba works great for the abs, hips, and back areas. I noticed a difference in my back fat and love handles when I started doing Zumba. I also noticed a big difference when I added Jillian's 30 Day Shred in the mix too. Anything that moves your hips will help the back fat disappear, especially the back muffin top area.

According to my HRM ($30 @ Walmart), I'm averaging between 650-700 per DVD. I'm constantly checking my HRM, especially after doing anything in the DVD that really has me breathing hard. I end up checking my HR between 5-10 times throughout the workout to ensure I get accurate results.
