It's funny you mentioned false grip. I started working with false grip, wider stance, and tight glutes yesterday evening. The false grip did force me to keep wrist more vertical. Thanks ya'll.

That is our ghetto Employee Wellness Center. I wasn't feeling it at first, but then realized, they have standard plates and a couple bars, so what the heck, it's free use it. lol. Now I just need to round up some saw horses.

Excellent man, I found some things in the employee gym this morning to start micro loading.

I found this jewel from last year at the nearly the same working weight as today. The improvement is certainly there if I must say so myself. (I know the bar will humble me next time for that comment) Have a gander, have a chuckle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLz57nNhMQU *BTW, I am not looking for critique on this one…

Thank you Ben. So I did notice the wider stance, which makes sense. Since it's not a military press, I could definitely increase my stance width for stability. Also, my bar/hand position is on my mind now, I have been focusing on it lately. The weight has gotten to the point that it is affecting not only hand/bar placement…

I just "asked for permission" to view the video on Drive, in case you get a request from an unknown email. My email starts with jlsmith1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEXDachy2o8&feature=youtu.be This is my "weight is increasing, I hope I am still on track" squat video, critique away. Probably the coolest part about becoming more familiar with proper form is I am starting to notice the "break down" points such as the 4th and 5th rep in the above video…

Dope, Ben, Thank you both. Believe it or not the bar in the palm issue was once way worse. On the few reps that I have came very close to my chin, locking out was nearly effortless. I will take the advice and try to apply it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yF8lKY6Mjok&feature=youtu.be Here is OHP form a few days ago, thoughts?
-
I think due to failing OHP (miserably) right before the DL, and generally feeling like poop this morning, I thought my form didn't look "quite right" but I looked at it again once I got to work and decided, yep it counts. Thanks for the feedback!
-
At first, I did not count this set. After review, while not perfect, I feel like I have counted much worse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SaHdO6ooAI&feature=youtu.be Would you have counted this for yourself? Have a gander.

Thanks for sharing this! Very inspiring.

Or view the poster as a naysayer, party pooper, mean, etc.

I was just skimming through to see if anyone with a high post count had anything to say. As suspected I couldn't find anyone, then I saw yours and thought here we go a special snow flake, then here you came with your sensible ideas and logic...shame, shame.

oopsy derpy

Not qualified to give form advice but will say, forward lean when fatigued...I feel ya

Thanks guys. I do need to work on getting better leverage on OHP, I am finding it easier the closer I get to hitting my nose ha.
-
Dope, I understood that I needed to find a better leverage point, so I moved even closer to the bar before I pulled. My shins were actually touching the bar before I took my grip (lightly but still touching). It seemed to make for an easier pull and actually allowed me to engage my lats. I didn't want to share that tidbit…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oJNFa-FSYM&feature=youtu.be I decided to move forward with the weight increase. Today 185 lb. I tried to not let the weight surprise me, I kept my mind on not falling forward. I engaged my lats, and attempted to move my butt back on the descent to miss my knees. I only hit my knees once. I…

Been on it now for close to 4 months. Have gained weight. Because I have been eating in a surplus...
-
I have nailed my knee caps several times. I think so hard about the pull and don't have anything in mind about descent. I feel if I keep my knees straight to avoid hitting them on the descent I'll end up rounding my lower back. Is that likely just in my head? Can you think of a mental cue to help with my descent issue?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60F-E6E5RQY&feature=youtu.be Should be all 5 reps in case anyone else is following. Thanks.
-
Dope, Thank you for that response. I have no problems with wall-o-text, especially when it's helpful. I understand what you're saying, it's basically a risk/reward type thing, instead its form/weight. I am still struggling with getting tight before the pull, and the hips shooting up first. I think those are, and probably…

When did Aldean cross over to country?

^^What you did there...I see. lol

I'm about 4 seconds into the "Creed Shreds" video and can not control myself, about to piss my pants Oh God https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ms61I54CeQA

Oh my God I am crying right now!!
-
Classic country, yes. New country also makes people cry, but for the wrong reason...mostly because it is somehow still labeled country...There is definitely a tear in my beer just thinking about it.

Yesss, come in huggy bear this is big willy, over, copy, 10-4 good buddy.
