Also, just to add, don't think I'm settling with a deload because I would really like to hit the 225 lbs mark in the next month and deloading isn't going to help me get there on paper. I'm thinking if I do end up having to deload it would be a nice physical and mental break.

Michael - OHP has been a tough one the whole way. When I used to do split routines I always felt so strong in my shoulders, apparently I'm not as strong as I thought lol.
-
SideSteel - I hadn't thought about it like that (being a very mild deficit, which could easily be erased by logging inaccuracies). I will monitor and adjust accordingly. Thank you for the suggestions! Sara - Recovery, in particular, edges out fat loss as my greatest concern here. I will definitely listen to my body in…

AIS - I totally understand what you're saying. Today was the first of approx 27 sessions that was mostly crap. All others have been a great success. I'm going to ride this out and focus on recovery and sleep and see what happens in the next few weeks.

I will keep this in mind. Today was crap, failing squats for the first time, on the first set at that (and every set there after). Then only squeaking out one DL at work weight. lol. However I did power through my OHP... at my first deload weight lol.

SS, yes 3 sets of 5. Sry

Arroganceinstep - Thanks for the feed back. I have watched the squat video several times now and have noticed the bar path is wobbly at the bottom. I will try to remain more tight throughout and remember to stay on my heels to maintain the bar path. On the dead lift, again I will be trying to stay more tight. I'm also…

DopeItUp - Thanks so much. I guess I'm being hard on myself just thinking about how it must have looked at work weight, that day was 205lbs but didn't have room on the iPod for a video lol. I will try to get more psyched up next time and think about those three tips!
-
DopeItUp - I do have hunch back tendencies when not lifting, so the back straight and neutral is a new concept lol. Indeed, I am not tight before lifting. I am gassed after squats and then (usually failing) OHP, so to fconcep's point yes the lift is tired because I am spent and almost dread doing DL because of it.…

I've got another for ya'll to check out. This time it's the dead lift. I don't feel right with this lift. Pointers are in order i'm sure lol. Thanks guys! http://youtu.be/SKkAbeTv-lg

Sorry, you had a typo and I couldn't let it go. You're welcome.
-
DopeItUp - I took the advice of Hendrix7 and focused on getting my elbows more vertical, and it seemed to help me sit back today, which also took some pressure off my knees. bumblebums - Lol, yea the wiggle. That was my Elvis hips! I toned it down a bit today and focused on still squeezing my glutes at the top without the…

Squat form check please. I began stronglifts 5x5 8 weeks ago. Attempting low bar style. My experience with squatting is very limited. The last time I was required to squat was in H.S. 10 years ago and I simply did just enough to get by without getting fussed at by the coaches. Thanks for the help!…

I've chosen two groups to join here on MFP, E.T.P. and C25k, pretty sure I've found all I will likely ever need!

To be "headless torsos," E.T.P mods seem to have plenty going on upstairs! Thanks for the awesome post and the continuation of free sound advice!

Yes! ^^
Also, OHPs are a pain in the butt. Heres a thread that might be of use to you: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/951425-stronglifts-ohp-and-not-increasing-weights
Excellent! Thanks for the link!

I've stalled the last two attempts at OHP, discouraging to say the least. However most folks I've talked to agree while not the most technical lift of the SL program, it is one of the most difficult physically.

Yes. Increase to 1800. Give that number a month and observe the changes and adjust accordingly.

Ok, I've made it through 4 pages here and have nearly pissed myself twice... Epic thread!

Hey, nothing quite like a calorie deficit to really shed the weight! Congrats and good luck to all new advocare clients!

Great attitude! I hope the rest of your week is positive! I read a post yesterday that made me think a little more about my insecurities... "people in places such as the beach or gym are generally more worried about how they look than how you look".
-
Give it a shot for sure! It starts off very light and progresses slowly as well. You'll be amazed by what you are truly capable of!

Thanks for the help y'all!

Thanks so far folks! Gotta clock in at work. I'll check back in a few hours.

Thanks for your opinion! Does keeping fat gain to a minimum necessarily mean keeping muscle gain to a minimum? Like I said I really don't mind putting on extra weight for the 12 weeks if it will help with strength gains.
