  • Great for you!! It is the little things that slowly turn your lifestyle around into something healthy. Congrats to you!!
  • You are craving a vanilla ice cream cone, get the baby one like mentioned above, that's what I do. Itcould be worse, you could be craving the double chocolate chunk blizzard. If it's just the ice cream you want get it in a cup instead of the cone, that saves significant calories right there.
  • I actually jsut had a few days like this, started off with back to back nights of grown up beverages and bad choices all around, by the third day i felt horrible my body felt gross and mad at me for putting all that crap in it..having said all that Sunday was busy i didn't want to go to the store and then cook something…
  • located throughout the grocery store, the marzetti brands that i have never had because they dont look as good are in produce witht eh refrigerated dips, but the ones i use are in the deli section with the fresh pasta, prepared deli foods, etc. my recommendation would be to start off with a flavored one the plain one may…

  • skinny pop popcorn-39 cals per cup and low sodium. i also eat the popchips and special k crackers, I can usually only eat half of a serving to satisfy me. i agree I would rather have crunch than sweet. I eat a lot of vegetables that I didn't think i would like, carrots, celery, pepper strips, zuc and squash strips. also…
  • oh this is right up my alley, feel free to message me as i jsut got back from a 7 day trip there with my family, myself, husband, parents and our 13 and 5 year old girls. What type of children are you traveling with and their ages. Also are you staying on property? I assume you will want to do character dining? The…
  • at 16 months daughter went to a twin, i didn't use rails, but i used the crib mattress on the floor so that if she did roll off she fell on the crib mattress and then during the day just pushed the crib mattress back under the bed, she never did roll off of it though.
  • i agree about fast food, especially mcdonalds and especially after a night of a couple too many drinks, i order off the kids menu. is it the best thing for me, no way, but is a cheeseburger and kids fry better for me than a big mac and large fry, sure it is. After doing this multiple times it became easier to eat the…
  • although they do not pack quite the same nutrients, frozen and canned vegetables are still low calorie and still better for you than fast food. As far as sweet potatoes, i highly recommend doing oven roasted sweet potatoes, especially if you have never had them, they can be a little overpowering at first but to do oven…
  • what about fish and shrimp? also where are the fruits and veggies on that list? Turkey?
  • i belong to a very simple gym, no workout classes, no childcare, there is a personal trainer, and then all the machines and weights. I was very skeptical at first and honestly i only joined because it was a no contract situation at a very low price. I had never previously been a gym person. Almost five months later I love…
  • depends on what options they have chick-fil-a grilled chicken is low especially if you dont have the bun and add a side salad. Most places will have some grilled chicken sandwich, or some type of sub or sandwich place, just watch your cheese and sauces and it wont be great for you but it will allow you to eat out with the…
  • Agree that you should make sure you don't have sedentary or light listed as your daily activity level, make it active and then MFP will account for that in your calorie allocation. Then you would not want to recount it as exercise because MFP already took it into account.
  • Somebody told me to try this as well and I was amazed by the difference in calorie burn. Although I have to agree a 6 is crazy fast to walk. I currently walk at a 15 incline, slowly worked my way up from a 12 and walk at 3.6mph
  • I have these days often, I used to give in to my urges, but "think" i was maintaining things, eating less than a serving, etc. until i realized all of my different "tastes" added up to more calories than a meal. Now when I am hungry and need a snack i pick a snack that is going to fill me, but I am usually at my snackiness…
  • I don't plan my meals as specifically as Monday-this Tuesday-that. I look at what is on sale that week as well as what sounds good and I have a rough idea of what I wantt o get. I ALWAYS have boneless skinless chicken breast and some sort of fish or shrimp and those are good proteins for you. I also stock up on the veggies…
  • i do the same, i do my best to pick whats closest or the most consistent. If i have two different calorie counts i usuallly opt for the higher count when i'm not sure, to me its better to round up on my calories then i dont overeat them.
  • What about grilling boneless skinless chicken breasts early in the week and then using them for a variety? One night eat it grilled with some veggies, the next night you can use flat out wraps, chicken, cheese, and some spinach to make a thin crust pizza for one, you can mix up some chicken salad using light ingredients,…
  • skinny pop popcorn-1 cup is only 39 cals bowl of mixed fruit, either strawberries, blueberries, and bananas or melons and pineapple (high sugars but they are natural) veggies and hummus-usually takes me longer to eat these so lasts longer i also cheat and used prepackaged snacks-it is really amazing what you can find in…
  • me too! I had such a great week and feel like I have totally undone it all on Friday and Saturday nights. Alcohol is getting me, but worse than that are the bad food choices i make afterwards!!! How do we do it???
  • agree. put in a large bowl of cold water and let a steady stream of cold water run over them, shouldn't take that long to defrost. Cold water not warm water for safest way
  • what about a low impact aerobic dvd that you can do at home, or exercises using an exercise ball?
  • what kind of veggies are you trying to give them, i would encourage you to continue offering them as it takes several tastes before they like them, especially if they are not used to the flavor or texture, also try finding a way to be creative with them, for example rolling them up in pinwheels, or cold veggie pizzas (not…
  • You can break it down using single components, if you use a scale it will be easy, weigh each of the vegetables before grilling, and if you measure out the oil before you sprinkle it, otherwise if you are a good judge of amounts (I am not) you can go into my food and put the recipe in.
  • Congrats to yoU! I had a very similar experience following a week of vacation, i was so scared to get on the scale only to see a loss, its a great feeling, enjoy:)
  • The half orders of salad are still a pretty gigantic size and if you get them without dressing they are actually pretty decent as far as calorie counts go. CPK is great for sharing, perhaps you can share with your husband pizza and salad so you are not tempted to eat the whole thing, just a slice or two?
  • I was never a scale fan, I did not see the need for them, to me it was just a number. I knew when i had gained weight and more weight and more weight when my clothes didn't fit, I didn't need a scale to tell me that. Fast forward to now, i purchased a scale a few months ago when my husband and I began this journey. I love…
  • Good luck, this site is great not only for accountability but also for motivation!!
  • I can't access the menu right now, but avoid any of the white or pink sauces....heavy cream will make any meal a calorie disaster. Also, it depends on how much you want pasta, if you can take it or leave it go with some lean protein or seafood (again just watch the sauces). If you must have pasta go with a tomato or…
  • I feel the exact same way, the few weekends that this doesn't happen I start the new week feeling GREAT, but it's summertime and there is soo much going on that it is hard to avoid all those social drinking situations. I have tried to make up for it by having strong workouts Saturday morning to account for what I know I…
