  • In short, I believe it. I know so many people with digestive issues, food allergies, etc. I know a coworker who felt like *kitten* to be diagnosed with leaky gut and had to go on a strict diet to heal it. She had to take out dairy and gluten along with other stuff and she feels 100% better. Another was having similar…
  • Ground bison is delicious! We now primarily use it when making tacos or burgers. Granted it's more in price, maybe around $10 lbs, but we are okay spending that since we don't eat it often and we aim to find grass fed, no hormones, etc.
  • I haven't lost in the last month or so, well I haven't weighed myself and since a month ago till this morning and went up 6 oz. I remember when I was meeting with my last nutritionist (a couple years ago) and I tend to forget that eating is hard to change. I have friends on here who are losing weight and I'm not. But…
  • Oh no! I"m glad you're okay and sad about your car. Glad you survived. *hugs*
  • Here's some stuff I've made recently that I enjoyed Coconut Crusted Baked Zucchini chips (didn't do the dip though) http://www.balancewithb.com/recipe-box/2017/8/14/coconut-crusted-baked-zucchini-chips-w-a-green-tahini-dip Made these for my guy since it's low fodmap friendly ... and he was jealous of my energy balls.…
  • I haven't checked in for a while. I was out of commission for like 2 weeks because of the horrible fires happening here in California, north of San Francisco (I live in SF). It was impacting my breathing and I took a break from working out. I think because I felt crappy from the smoke inhalation that I couldn't escape it.…

  • I have cut down or eliminated dairy before from my diet. I do my best to limit any dairy yogurt so I now will eat certain brands of coconut yogurts (coyogurt or coyo) when I got to certain stores. I rarely buy dairy milk and mostly stick to coconut, almond or rice milk. I'll use it in smoothies or recipes. I have noticed…
  • I'm late to the ballgame, but no. Cardio kickboxing was at a local martial arts studio I no longer go to. Yoga I did once at the Y, or at a yoga studio, but I now mostly do it at home via Gaia. Everything else has been mostly through the Y, like Zumba, cycling, TRX. I'm sure the fact that I live in a major city allows for…
  • 2 dresses I wore recently that I hadn't worn in months fit a bit loose. Then I got a few items in my Stitch Fix box and had to go down a size in my pants and change my puffy vest size down to a large such fits perfect. So happy to see the progress in my clothes.

  • Stuff I've tried: Jillian 30 day shred - never made it all the way through but good TRX - enjoy it, haven't been able to get back to going consistently Swimming for fun - really need to do Cardio kickboxing - this was my primary form of working out for several years in my late 20s. I got pretty fit for my standards and was…
  • My dude goes to bed later than me so I say night and off to bed I go. He works or watches TV in another room l. It helps a lot.
  • Omg massive hug to you!!! So sorry to hear about your husband and his health. Sounds so stressful :(
  • I have been working on my sleep for months. I feel I now get almost 8 hrs a night, or just under. Really I should get just over 8 hours. I've created a night time routine of stopping liquids at least 2 hrs before bed. Then taking shower, evening meditation, turning the lights low in bed, charging my phone and electronics…
  • It's been challenging the last couple weeks because my fiance was sick and I was fighting off getting sick too. So I laid low for a while. Then I was aiming to get back into my workout routine last week but so sore from my trainer's session. I was like damn! But it was good. I'm not stretching as much as I need to…
  • My fiancee is supposed to follow the low FODMAP diet. I was talking to my nutritionist and she agreed it was probably one of the trickiest and difficult diets out there. I've made dishes for him to eat and made recipe modifications. Luckily, he will eat anything so cooking isn't super difficult since he's not picky. But…
  • I too don't have any foods totally off limits. Some stuff I don't eat as often or do my best to limit. Like dairy, gluten, processed sugar. Or super heavy food like mac and cheese, fried stuff, etc. It's challenging at times but I'm better than I was like 4 yrs ago.
  • I live in San Francisco, so hi @Somze, we're neighbors :) Where I work, we now have a gym in the building so sometimes I'll go there. I primarily work at the YMCA near my apartment, but luckily, I can go to any gym within the city limits without paying more. I'm glad I have the option to go to the Y near my work if I want…
  • Starting weight: 187 Weigh-in #1: 184.8 Total Loss: 2.2 Why were you successful/unsuccessful last week? I got strength training in 3x (TRX, trainer, on my own). I also worked out and got my cardio in. The biggest I think though is I just ate out 2x and one was make your own tacos so it was fairly healthy food. I cooked 2x…
  • You can pop a few of these in your mouth before you leave the house http://ohsheglows.com/2012/03/28/dark-chocolate-cherry-energy-bites-a-book-review/ I used to have a few of those before I go to a morning cycling class and I too, had to get up super early.
  • It's funny to see we have several folks here who are office managers, including myself! I feel like I'm getting back on track this week. I met with my nutritionist on Thursday and I was doing great with my sleep since being on vacation last week, etc. I'll be working on: * including some fish oil supplements in my diet *…
  • Here's a video about TRX https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gagl23KZs0U I live in a major metropolitan area and it's a big thing here I would say. My trainer and I did a little on Tuesday and it was great getting more support than in a class. We did just 2 arm exercises and my arms were noodles, but she training me hard on my…

  • Thanks for getting this up and running again! I can't wait :)
  • Cool, I'll check for that thread and omg lots of veggies!
  • I had a water bottle I use at work and I did some number crunching and my goal is to drink refills of that bottle a day. I had a hard time tracking so I started posting a post-it on it and put 5 circles in it. Every time I refill it, I fill in a circle so I see how my progress is. I just started last week. We'll see how it…
  • I've dropped off because life happened. But I've been thinking of you all and hope you're doing well. Life is beginning to settle down again so I'd be happy to join the next round. :)
  • What are you eating?
  • Breakfast *can be a fruit smoothie with berries, kale, some kind of fat (avocado, almond butter, etc.) with some protein (beans, sausage, meat, etc.) on the side *or dinner leftovers such as beans, rice, potatoes with protein (tofu, chicken, smoked salmon, etc.) with a nice serving of greens such as salad or sautéed…
  • I've noticed if I'm not hydrated enough that I can have a difficult time going esp if I'm taking probiotics. When you take them you need to keep hydrated.
