What is your baseline activity? Many people are not actually sedentary as MFP defines it.

+1 to red lentil pasta and to thinking about changing the proportions of pasta:vegetables. Up the vegetables!

Interesting. I think I will try. How do people who are working on trainers estimate their distance?

I wish I knew that long-term success is possible. And how useful the community boards are!

I think it's just by members. Having said that, there are lots of supportive groups on here! I think the 5 percent groups are really supportive, there is a former weight watchers group called Guys On A Diet (for women as well), some groups for people over a certain age or needing to lose a certain amount of weight...If you…

True. Breakfast is my favorite meal! TNP likes to do art projects.

You can do it. And one thing that will probably help is, don't rely on your wife for the cooking. Cook for yourself, and for her! Men can cook too and cooking really helps with watching what you are eating. If you want more...vegetables...protein...less fat...or whatever fits into your diet, if you cook it, you control it.…

I think false? Iphone only, no ipad or smartwatch. Although I do have a laptop, I don't think that's really handheld? Clearly I'm overthinking this! The next person will drink something bubbly on New Years Eve.

Haha me too!

So sorry you are feeling crummy. One day at a time and one thing at a time. ♥️

Was with a group of people who (finally) noticed my weight loss, just over 20 pounds. "Wow you look great, etc." Some people asked how I did it and when I said "writing things down," one person just didn't believe me. I was also touched by the people who said, "On purpose, right?" (E.g., not from cancer or something else.)

Put (frozen) blueberries in the pot! And some real milk...

One day at a time. Tackle one change at the time. And if you aren't already doing it, then you might consider if therapy would help you get the binge eating under control and help you feel better about yourself. Good luck!

False! Not too interested. Although I did learn to juggle in hs gym in the “wrestling room” so I feel like I know the sport! (But really I don’t!) TNP knows how to juggle.

Lol, yes!

I would go back to your doctor—who hopefully knows your eating disorder history—to discuss. You are an appropriate weight right now and maybe your anorexia history causes you to misread eating cues. So maybe the solution really is to eat! But maybe it is something else.

What is your usual diet like?

A few ideas. 1. Dinner leftovers. 2. A salad. Include something crunchy (nuts, cucumbers) and protein—I like the little cans of sardines or trout or salmon. Or cheese, potato, hard boiled egg.

True! In the Virgin Islands! And LOVED it! My husband however did not love it. TNP loves avocado toast.

Maybe the turkey and sweet potatoes are "good food" but the cake could be thrown out if you can't stay away from it. Some people do adjust their calories to eat more on the weekends...if you do that, you have to be prepared to eat less on the weekdays. I agree with @AnnPT77, problem solving is key. And in my opinion, just…

+1 on silk long underwear, wool socks, fleece or wool hat and gloves. Some people actually start with thicker gloves and then have light gloves underneath. The nice thing about hat and gloves is that you can take them on and off. Some people put a headband under a hat, then if you warm up you can hold the hat in your hands.

Hugs. It is helpful for me to remember that social media posts are highly curated pieces of peoples’ lives. They aren’t “real life.”
