  • I wear my in the middle as well (most comfty that way for me too) and it works just fine. Experiment and see what works for you (I have the polar F-11, btw).
  • I thought you were going to say you were finally tired, and was goning to ask you to send some of your surplus energy over here because I sure could use it because I'm always tired!!  I've tried CC, but still can't get over the texture (shudders)...but good for you! :flowerforyou:
  • For me - under means inside the sports bra, and below/beneath means below the sports bra. The positioning of the chest strap below/under should not make a difference unless you are wearing an underwire bra, maybe? I've never tried my HRM with an underwire bra (all my sports bras/swimsuits are nylon/spandex.) I imagine the…
  • Hi Mely, Congrats on your new Polar! It should be worn under your boobs (under or beneath bra strap - either way - I prefer it below my bra, myself). It should be fairly tight - not cutting off circulation, but firmly in place. I generally wear mine about as tight as I wear my bra. Did you wet the electrodes before you put…
  • It always seems like Costco brings out the worst in us all! The kids always seem cranky when we go (they HATE going to Costco), I always buy WAY more than what I needed (I've NEVER left Costco with a tab under $200), and there are always too many people. DH, however, loves going on the weekends to sample all the freebies…
  • Good idea! I do the same things with my frozen Amy's meals - I'll cut the frozen meal in half, save the other half for the next day, and fill up the empty space with frozen veggies and nuke it. Filling and saving moola!
  • Fabulous job! BTW - is your shirt (in the current pix) from Old Navy? I just took my daughter shopping for school at Old Navy and we bought the same shirt in green and red! Good taste my friend, good taste!
  • Republic of Tea sells bottled tea - nothing added and taste divine. I had Pomegranate Green Tea and had to check the lable twice before I was convinced there were no added sugars, etc. Zero calories, zero sodium, all zero! And it tasted SWEET - not super sweet, but there was a distinct sweetness to it. A-MA-ZING stuff. You…
  • I so want to do this! Do you have to have your own GPS? Is there a fee for this?
  • So funny - when I saw your user name, I did a double take because my lil' sister also has been called Anna Banana all her life (I call her Banana for short, lol). I had to check your picture because I didn't recognize you either - great job! Be thankful - your nickname could have been worse... My parent's bequeathed me…
  • Smallest (high school) - 5 Biggest (post-babies - three of 'em) - 16-18 Current - 4-6 I'm not hung up on the pant size or weight (I'm 135 - down from 192 post-baby) - but I'd REALLY like to get rid of the post-baby flab (stomach jiggle-thing), sigh. It can be annoying when getting close to goal because people keep telling…
  • Did you get enought sleep (7-8 hours)? When I don't get enough zzzz's I'm a sight to behold - and not a pretty one at that
  • I know what you mean by being so busy - it's really does take some dedication to eat healthy, but a little planning and some adjustment will make it go so much easier! My life saving device? The crockpot. It's amazing. I work full-time, have three kiddos under the age of 10 - we don't have a lot of time to throw together…
  • I would suggest oatmeal, toast with PB and some fruit. I would probably stay away from the eggs-bacon type foods, and coffee might not be the best thing either (unless it is decaf). Been there, done that - get better soon! :flowerforyou:
  • Now I am jealous too!! I only burn 70 calories for walking a mile at work (three times around the parking lot is a mile) - I wore my HRM and was surprised. I thought at least 100-120. Only a lousy 70 calories?? :grumble:
  • I consider myself very active (I swim, run, bike, and have three very busy kids) however I work a desk job, so I erred on the side of caution and selected "lightly active" - that way I don't over-estimate my calorie needs. Max - you crack me up every time!
  • I've been working out 5:30-6:30 AM for the past 2-3 years, religiously. At first I did not eat at all - no water, no food before. I would bring a water bottle for during workout, and then eat breakfast an hour later (when I got to work). Then I started tweaking my schedule since it wasn't working for me and I wanted to…
  • I donate about every 8 weeks - since I'm an O-Neg I get lots of fan mail from the red cross, lol. Hard to turn them down! Anyways, I also have been turned away for low iron, and once almost turned away for low BP (90/60) - the low BP was due to insufficient hydration and it took so looooooooooong for that pint to drip out…
  • Do you have a Panera's nearby? They have good chicken noodle. Also sometime at the gorcery store (Safeway) they have hot soup ready to go in the deli section. Hope you feel better soon!! :flowerforyou:
  • HFCS does have a bad rap - and I think for the wrong reason. I'm not a HFCS proponent (hold the tomatoes!) however sugar (refined or not) in general is not good for us. Since the majority of highly processed food with little nutritonal value (i.e. cakes, soda, etc.) have HFCS - it makes sense to avoid them. I would not…
  • You can get a burger from In n' Out - ask for "protein style" - where they subsitute the bun for lettuce. I don't eat at In n' Out (fast food is not my thing), but hubby loves it. Ask for no special sauce and no cheese (just ketchup, mustard and onions) and your calorie count should be pretty doable. The fries are not good…
  • I've been on just about every form of BC there is from the diaphram to IUD. I cannot handle BC pills - the hormones throw my body SO out of wack! The copper paraguard IUD made me bleed SO heavily for 3 weeks of of the month and I cramped up - no good. I LOVED Mirena IUD - it made my periods lighter, and I never knew it was…
  • Fried ice cream shake? :noway: What is that? (Do I want to know?? )
  • I have two DD - and I LOVE "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack - I play that for them (I can't sing to save my life, lol). My son...hmmm something with cars or trucks in it - that's all he cares about right now (he's 3, lol).

  • Better yet - work out first thing in the morning before you can decide if you want to or not! I work out at an ungodly hour - so by the time my brain has caught up with my body (i.e. morning coffee and breakfast), the deed is already done!
  • Question - is the amount of ice cream in the sundae cup the same as would be in the cone? I think our sundae cups look a lot bigger than the cone - thus you might be getting more ice cream than you would have with a cone. Just fyi...
  • Me too *hides face in shame*
  • If you absolutely can't do serious exercise right now, then I would focus on your calories. Log everything and try to drink lots of water. You can probably still lose weight by staying in the calorie guidelines given for you by MFP - throw in a evening stroll (I wouldn't log that) and you should be seeing a nice gradual…
  • I noticed the same thing! My cycle used to be long, and I would get so tender in the chest area (as in touch-me-and-I-will-sock-you tender.) Since I'm taken my vitamins more-or-less faithfully (and my fish oil), plus getting healthier - TOM is hardly a blip on my radar....:drinker: :drinker: Woot-woot!
  • Good point Marla! Sugar (in and of itself) is a simple carb - no real nutrtional value. So, yes being diabetic is all about watching your total carb intake. My husband is a former college football player - still thinks he can eat like one, and is also a ding-dong (he loves ding-dongs and ho-ho's BTW, .) He went to…
