This has happened to me as my HRM got older. I've had many, and sometimes it can be related to battery issues, other times its related to a decrease in connectivity on the torso band. If its only a certain kind of workout, I'm guessing its the latter issue, which is easy to fix. Get you band wet, as usual, before putting…

I think the silent treatment is essentially manipulative and passive aggressive. If it works, it means that you have just raised the anxiety level in another person to such a degree that they submit, whether or not its in their or the relationships best interest. Why would I want to do that to someone I love? I think its…

I never warm up before I run, and I am a very slow runner as well. I have pilates as a regular part of my routine and get the stretching in that way, but its never connected to my running. Works for me.

@ukstarlight - you are just beautiful all around! very sexy :) @ zacmatt - can't see you too well, but that is a lovely tan.

That's gotta be the weirdest body ever. I'm guessing he had some sort of implants or something in his pecs? No, I would never date that guy!! Frightening! Just a mess of red flags there.

Here's my sexiest kale recipe. My husband and I love this so much that we usually end up eating a whole head of kale each, which I don't really recommend, fiber wise!! Anyway, its simple and if you like a little spice this is for you: 1 head kale, cleaned and chopped (I remove the large central stem in each leaf) 2 T olive…

Its been really great getting some of the information here from all of these posters and, OP, I hope that you are getting a sense that we are all here with you and support you in fighting the good fight for healthy living!! It is very true that a good deal of education into what you eat, your specific caloric needs and…

As suggested by other posters, I don't believe that being supportive includes compromising your own health and weight loss goals. I have a very restrictive diet (for very specific health reasons) so there are many places where I cannot eat the food that is offered. My specific solution is that I have a food delivery…

I was once served a lightly cooked full egg sac of a sea bass. It was a special delicacy offered to us by the owner of a sushi restaurant in celebration of my and my husband's new marriage. It was supposed to ensure my fertility. It would have been incredibly rude to refuse, so I ate it. It tasted exactly how you imagine…

I love drinking wine, the taste of it , the little buzz, how it makes food taste better....but I've had to give it up for health reasons temporarily. It has been a real challenge, but I truly don't miss how badly it made me feel. I am really enjoying feeling consistently good in my body and clear headed. I don't think I…

Mine is cookies and or donuts. I can't say I've beaten it, but things got a lot better when I gave myself a goal of one month of no sweets. After one month, they didn't have quite the same pull on me. I indulge now only for super-special occasions, maybe 3-5 times a year, and they don't taste so good then. I think saying…

Me and my lovely guy will have been together for 14 years this year, and I swear I still feel like we just met. Each year we're together we are more in love than the last, and I can't believe how lucky I am to have met him. He's my best friend and my soild rock. We have two young children and, while having kids is awesome,…

This works best for me. In fact, when I eat fewer calories, like 1200 or 1300, I do not lose any weight at all and I plateau. Of course your next week will be different because weight loss is not linear. You will most definitely have your ups and downs, but what you are doing tends to work very well for active people over…

Hey there! I just found this group and am happy to meet some locals. I live in South Austin near Slaughter, and would love join others for walks around Town Lake. I have only 10 pounds left to lose, but I am recovering from a serious injury and must take it slow. My focus is on good health and increasing my energy levels.

I agree with many other posters: you have a terrible gym!!!! This never happens at my gym, and if you crash the weights staff comes over and asks you to not do that. What an awful exercise environment you have!!!

I've been on the anti-candida diet since last August, and supplements too. I just experimented with a new medication called Lufenuron, and I have to say that the results are pretty great. It seemed to good to be true, but the science is sound. It began as an anti-flea medication for pets and disrupts the development of the…

I agree with the consensus that navy just won't look right. If you want pattern stockings, then lose the belt. Competing patterns will look messy and, at worst, trashy or silly. I love the black dress with red shoes, and that usually goes best with nude stockings, with or without the belt. May I also suggest spray on…

I am far more put out by the whole childbirth/menstruation/crazy hormone thing. I'm fine with eating 1400/day or workouting out more to get more cals. Not too big of a deal, really.

This may be more effort than you want to expend, but this is my current favorite - roasted sweet potato spears dipped in homemade chipotle mayo. The mayo is super easy to make and is much healthier than what you can buy at the store, and the fat fills you up along with the fantastic fiber of the sweet potatoes. Make a…

Okay, you asked for some honest advice about the option, and hopefully I can offer that. My mother has had countless plastic surgeries and some have worked out well and some haven't. The ones that did not work out well....she looks mutilated. Her lipo gave her an unnatural shape, and there have been multiple complications…

I think everyone is different, but I find that when I eat the right kinds of foods, the portion control just automatically happens. I eat paleo-style, which is lots of protein, fats, vegetables, and most fruits. No grains, beans, or dairy. So, that means no bread or pasta either, and its usually those carbs that I over…

There are no health differences in one or the other. If it works for you, then that is awesome. Sometimes there can be a difference in texture and/or taste, but whatever. If you live inland, the only kind of fish you can get has been frozen at some point. the best quality meats and fish, health wise, are grass-fed,…

IF possible, I would seriously look into pilates if you want to completely transform your abs. TO do it right, go to a class with a knowledgeable teacher, and your body will be completely changed. I"ve been doing pilates for a number of years now and I have better abs now (37 and 2 kids) than I did when I was a 16 year old…

Hi All! I've been here for a couple of years, and am finally on my way out of a very challenging journey with my health. Oddly, one of the things that first let me know that something was wrong was my inability to lose weight after a solid year of dedicated effort. In fact, I would only gain, and the more I followed my…

Not much time to make a thoughtful post here, but from my experience, anyone deeply involved in parenting feels this way! Its a long road to carve out a place for yourself, but keep at it! You are a better mother when you are yourself!

Just my 2 since but my doctor (a Harvard-educated specialist in longevity and optimal health) put me on the paleo diet. She suggested reading Primal Mind Primal Body. She tweaked the author's suggestions the following ways: stevia as the only sweetener, no tropical fruits, no dairy except goat cheese. I have to be quite…

I have heard from a horse trainer that they keep horses of different sizes and types for these purposes. I am positive that there would be an upper limit on weight, but something like a Clydesdale should work for someone who is 300lbs I would imagine.
