Thank you, I found it. Like so many other things in my life it has brought a new question / twist / concern. I am setting the macros as percentages, and it appears the percentages are percentage of grams of carbs/fat/protein. I am wondering if I should be setting things with a percentage of calories. I am adhering to a low…

I start with "bullet proof coffee" in the morning, basically 1/2 tbsp butter & tbsp heavy cream per 12 oz cup. Then I eat a mid morning meal of 3 eggs, about 1 oz cooked bacon, and about 1 oz of cheese on the eggs. For supper I do eat some vegetable, trying to limit "root" vegetables and have cruciferous vegatables. I have…

I have been doing keto since may with good results, facing diabetes was the primary motivator. I would like to see more threads and interaction about it. I don't really discuss it with people because seems like everyone wants to get on their soapbox and tell me I am wrong.

Good job, you look great, congratulations

Hi, great thread. I also suffer from social anxiety, just dread taking a walk, especially by myself. Just feel all the eyeballs, especially nosy neighbors watching and judging. I have found some relief in a website called 7cups, deals with mental health issues of all kinds. I get inspiration on MFP, when I see others…

A great and timely thread. I have been concerned about diabetes for a few months, was noticing the warning signs. In my head, I knew the doctor would say lose weight, exercise, eat right... so I bought a glucose tester and found my levels to be high. So I started low carb which evolved to keto, if I remember correctly…

I have start a battle, war actually against diabetes. I really miss fruit as I am doing a keto diet with success. There is speculation that keto lifestyle can repair (alter maybe a better word) the insulin issues. So I have hopes that I can eat a more fruitful meal someday. I suspect that although it is correct that all…

I don't have many (maybe none depending on definition) friends on here or in life. I guess I am a toxic person, hoping to change that along with my physical and mental life. Having success doing "keto"ish low carb, not huge weight loss yet but progressing. Definitely noticing the changes, have diabetes looming like a gun…

Recently started thinking about this. I just cooked 7.5 ozs of bacon, which weighed 2.8 ozs when cooked. I can see the amount of bacon grease that I poured off before cooking my eggs in the pan. Seems like a considerable amount of the 7.5 ozs will be there, plus what evaporated. The "fatsecret" website, shows quite a bit…

Timely post, I am haphazardly embarking on a Keto diet. Been 4 days trying to stay under 20 grams of carbs. Been doing low carb for a month, basically avoided bread. I suspect I am pre diabetic and that is why I am on this path. I have noticed lately that I have an enhanced taste buds or something, things are just filled…

I was at 315 about 8 months ago... Lost a bunch quickly when I found out my wife loves someone else... Now I seem plateaued at 250ish. Stress seems to make me hungry

Hi, I am starting again this morning.

Thanks for all the responses. My wife is also overweight and has been since a child, being overweight is somewhat new to me. I want us both to lose weight, not just to be happier and healthier, but to set an example for our overweight daughter. Our living arrangement has me working long hours and her being a stay at home…
